SWS, 2022-05-01, Grace
Passion… truly is a beautiful thing isn’t it? We all recognize it when it happens.., and, we all value it, …tremendously. As special as it is, I believe true Godly passion is one of the Lord’s most special blessings.
We are uniquely blessed at Longbranch Community Church to have tremendous leadership. Our pastors are a gift. This series of 2-3 minute video clips is dedicated to preserving the “special moments” in which we believe God is clearly expressing his heart of hearts – passionately – through the men he has chosen to lead this beautiful, old fashioned, Pacific North West Pioneer Church.
*Today’s special Sermon Within a Sermon – is a quick perspective on “GRACE”. We hope that in addition to enjoying it personally, you will feel free to post it, tweet it, email it, and use it to evangelize & encourage your friends and family in the hope, promise, and assurance of our Risen Savior – Jesus Christ!!!

We also enjoyed yet another morning of Ms. B’s beautiful piano “&” Mr. O’s gentle guitar.

"What Good Is The Bible?", (2nd Tim 3:14-17), 2022-03-13, Longbranch Community Church
Today, Pastor John Day explains the what, why & how of “What Good Is The Bible”. Taken from 2nd Tim 3:14-17, this was perhaps the best biblical explanation I’ve ever heard relating to the importance of the living & active Word of God.
Sadly, we did encounter some technical difficulties which prevented us from capturing the entire message – which was excellent. In addition to yet another wonderful sermon, we enjoyed a mission update from the Stephen Myers family who will soon be leaving for the Philippine Islands. As per usual, we also reveled in Ms. Barbara’s stellar piano skills, and some truly joyous hymns. This week’s technical challenges have been met btw, and we should be back to normal next week - praise God!
*The Myers update starts at 19m/30s and today’s sermon begins at exactly 40m/00s.

"Not Might But Will", (2nd Timothy 3:10-13), 2022-03-06, Longbranch Community Church
As Christians, might we expect trials, and might we expect tribulations? “Not at all” says Pastor John Day, - “we can, we should, …and we will.” Join with us today as Brother John delivers a fact based, sobering message explaining that the Christian life is not always going to be bed of roses – there will be challenges and these trials oftentimes hurt – but these persecutions and trials are an integral part of the journey. Brother John went on to suggest that as life unfolds before us, we’d be wise to remember these three F’s: “Live faithfully, speak fearlessly, and to pray fervently.”
John’s message was accompanied, as always, by Ms. Barbara’s unbelievably sensitive piano – what a joy and blessing it is to lift yesteryear’s beautiful hymns to the Lord of lords and King of kings!!! Longbranch Community Church is a uniquely blessed family – a family whose table will always have an extra chair – just waiting for you my friend – we’ll leave a light on for ya!

Join with your Longbranch Community Church today as Pastor John explores 2nd Timothy 2:23-26 which deals with the Minister’s Modus Operandi (M.O.) “&” our standard operating procedure (S.O.P.). Mind you, there will always be exceptions to the rule – but this doesn’t alter the rule itself. “Don’t be quarrelsome, be kind to everyone, be able to teach, patiently endure evil, and be gentle to all.” And how, pray tell, are we to do this? Zechariah 4:6 reminds us that it is “not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit” says the Lord of hosts.
Additionally, we enjoyed a super-sweet time of heartfelt prayer today; what a joy to lift not only our requests, but also our heartfelt thankfulness, …to such a loving a Savior.

"O' Come Let Us Adore Him", (Matthew 2: 1-12), 2021-12-19, Longbranch Community Church
Given that first & foremost, “Christmas is …A call to Worship”; today, Pastor John Day delivered a beautifully simple – and yet remarkably compelling - presentation of the birth of our Savior. Taken from Matthew 2: 1-12, this “insightful” message was complimented by Christmas Carrols and perhaps the most sensitive piano this videographer has “ever” heard. We were also treated to our annual Children’s Christmas Presentation. Truthfully.., it was beautiful. The sermon begins at 32min/06seconds.
Merry Christmas y’all; and rather than getting caught up in the clutter: “May God richly bless you with His most precious blessings!!!”

Today, Pastor John Day reminded our Longbranch Community Church family that we are …in a state of perpetual war, and are commanded to “Fight the Good Fight.” There is only one Lord of lords and King of kings. Maintaining the clarity of the Gospels – and the crystal clear integrity of the faith “is not” a casual calling, nor is it for the comfortable. Thankfully, while under strenuous command, we also abide in his sustaining comfort. Twas a tremendous day to be in The Little Church with The Big Bell!
*Taken from 1st Timothy 6:12-16, John’s sermon starts at the 28min/18second mark.

"What Weeds Teach Us", (1st Tim 6:3-10), 2021-11-21, Longbranch Community Church
Join with our Longbranch Community Church family as Pastor John Day explores the root cause of sin & the surpassing joy of contentment. As Christians our main purpose is really quite simple; “We should always strive to glorify God”. Truly, we are all stewards – who are called to be faithful. Amongst other things, that means we all have some occasional gardening to attend to. Don’t forget: “The root must go – or the weed remains.”

"Keep Your Eye on the Prize", (1st Tim 6:1-2), 2021-11-14, Longbranch Community Church
In perhaps the most frank discussion of Christianity’s role within the issue of slavery I’ve ever heard, Pastor John brings humility, truth & honesty to the table. And, as repugnantly ugly as it was, what does God want from us today? Two things: #1) He wants us to honestly engage with the entirety of scripture & #2) He wants us to keep Our Eyes on the Prize, …That is to say: “God’s honor and dignity is paramount.”
Scripture is clear: The Gospel of Jesus Christ is directly opposed to the concept of slavery. The fact that it was condoned and even encouraged – for centuries, and even by Christians – can “only” be dealt with at the foot of the Cross.
Praise God for preachers who “…truly and courageously lead with genuine humility & frank honesty.” Today’s message was taken from 1st Timothy 6:1-2, and begins promptly at the 10min/02 second mark. Lastly, as an added bonus, there is an incredibly special, yet completely impromptu, whistled treat beginning at exactly 52min/05seconds!!!
