We recently flew across the country as a family of 5 and I took note of my best travel tips. Since this video is super long and you may not have time to watch it I will also list some tips for traveling as a family here. If you have more that i missed please leave them in the comments below for other parents to see! TIPS for traveling with a baby, toddler, or young children: 1) Consider when your kids sleep and don't assume they will sleep on the plane (until they are super super young) because sometimes the first couple flights are so exciting for them that they can't sleep. Our kids did best flying during the day. They napped in the stroller on the layover, or in the baby carrier on my chest. 2) If you are able to sign up for TSA PreCheck before you fly - it lasts 5 years - that helps streamline the security process. Only the parents need to do it and it means you are able to go through security super quickly without removing your shoes. 3) If you bring a stroller through security you'll have to fold it up and put it through the conveyer belt. If you need help doing that don't be afraid to ask someone. 4) You can usually wear your baby in a baby carrier through security, but if your baby carrier has a lot of metal on it they'll like ask you to take it off and put it through the scanner thing, so consider that when choosing how you'll wear your baby. 5) Bring some sort of identification for children. 6) Bring LOTS of snacks. They are both for hunger .. and also entertainment on the trip. 7) If you bring something for your kids to watch on a tablet, don't forget headphones. Toddler headphones a great, consider grabbing some before your trip. 8) Think through where your baby/toddler will sleep when you get where you are going. If you need to bring a portable crib with you, you can check it with your luggage. 9) Borrow as much as you can when traveling to see loved ones, that way you can pack lighter. 10) If you are afraid of your carseat or stroller being damaged on a plane then check it inside of a stroller or carseat bag. 11) If you can do laundry where you are doing then pack less clothing (maybe a week's worth?) for each person and wash it when you get there. 12) Use packing cubes inside a giant suitcase for you all, each person in the family can have their clothes inside of them. Clothes fit best if they are rolled, not folded. 13) Bring an extra change of clothes for the baby and toddler on the plane. If you will be traveling really late at night you could also bring their pjs and sleep stuff in your carryon so you are ready for sleep. 14) Sound machines are awesome, in my experience. Bring them if you like them. 15) Plan for the first day in the new place to be very chill, especially because they may be exhausted and need a nap. 16) If you are flying with a baby or toddler, make sure they are nursing, eating, drinking or sucking on something during take off and landing to help their ears adjust to the pressure. 17) Use layovers for them to nap, or run around like crazy and get their energy out. 18) Tiny babies tend to be great travelers (as long as the flight isn't during the evening "witching hour" where babies tend to be more fussy.) In my experience the plane provides white noise and they sleep super well. 19) My kids started sleeping on the plane after they got adjusted to flying. So it didn't happen on the first couple flights but eventually they became comfortable sleeping on planes. 20) As a child gets a bit older they are awesome to travel with because they know what's going on. Obviously if it is a road trip you'll need to stop for the bathroom and to stretch legs. On a plane though my oldest is content to rest, watch fun movies, and eat or draw. 21) Bring a little gift for the flight attendants so they know you respect them. It really helps. 22) We love Southwest airlines because they are the most accommodating for families and you can cancel your flight or change it if needed. They also have family boarding and each person gets two checked bags. __________________ What tips do you have? Leave them in the comments!

How to be a cool mom? How to be a relaxed mom? How to hang out with friends and bring your babies? However you might be asking that question, one major piece of mom advice I forgot to share is… BRING TOYS. Or crayons & paper! Or something to keep your children entertained! I forgot to say that 😬 (of course what you bring depends on how old your baby, toddler, child, or children are!) Also remember that you are enough .. even if the people around you make you feel small or like you are a buzzkill. You aren’t. You’re an amazing mom. Keep on keeping on. Im giving you the nod 😉 Sorry for the sound of airplanes ✈️ in the background 🙈🙈🙈 Going to social events with kids can be so fun but it may require that we as the moms adjust our expectations! We are not going to the event as an individual, we are going as people who are responsible for our babies/toddlers/kids. That is demanding. Try to accept that reality before attending & choose family-friendly or kid-friendly settings. Bring snacks, water, diapers if needed. Bring a friend or partner if you can. If you can’t then text them for reinforcements if you need it. Be open with safe people there about how you’re doing. Eat, drink, and be merry (responsibly of course). Consider nap times and bed times when planning your day. Tired kids have a harder time being fun. Tired moms too. The traveling part is always challenging (Like…. Sometimes… Book-a-flight-home-while-fighting-back-tears-challenging…) but the family memories are worth it. I used to do a lot of traveling with my kids but the pandemic changed that for us and the longer I have been home the harder it is to consider leaving. My anxiety about traveling with them is crazy. Thankfully my husband was adamant about us going and was really the force in making it happened. Top tips for traveling with kids: Think through bedtime- what will they need? Pack snacks and water Diapers & wipes Portable sound machines 💯 Think through where they will sleep & how they’ll get around so that you know what items you pack ie…. Stroller, baby carrier, car seat, pack n play etc.

We lived in Spain for two years when my oldest was a toddler. Recently someone asked me for tips to help them as their family moves to Europe and I thought I would share my advice for moms moving to Europe here, just in case there are more families interested in this idea. Some of these tips will help no matter where you move honestly. If you have more tips for parents who are moving their families overseas please leave them in the comments! ** One major thing I forgot to say though is allow yourself grace for the move. Meaning, don’t get impatient with yourself if the adjustment is hard and you feel lost. That’s so normal. It took me a year to really feel settled and it took two years before my neighbors began to treat me like I belonged there. Haha that’s mainly because our neighbors were elderly and I’m pretty sure they thought we were rowdy tourists or something. Anyway it takes time to adjust to a new place, even if the new place is a dreamy one. Two under two is a BIG deal. I had no idea. When I got pregnant with my third baby it was a total shock and I was terrified of managing motherhood with three young kids, two of them being 15 months apart. BUT just recently my son turn two which means... cue drumroll.. I did it! I survived two under two! So now I am here to casually & candidly share my best tips for taking care of two babies under two years old. One tip I forgot to share but think was valuable when it came to caring for young children is that we tried to speak really positively about my older child and affirm him often in his role as big brother. Even before he acted like a "good" or "helpful" big brother, I told him he was great at it. I also made a point to smile and laugh a lot as I related to all my kids, helping them to understand that relating to each other is fun. I would pretend to talk for my baby, making silly jokes and things as if she was saying them, just to see my older kids laugh. As my kids have gotten older they all seem to have good senses of humor and I think it has something to do with the example my husband and I intentionally set. They are probably amazing but the price is significantly higher than this stroller so Im not in the position to make that purchase. This is my third time feeding a baby of mine and both my daughter and I are better at it than I was with my first baby. Here are all the tips I have for you and some footage of me actually feeding my squishy little girl. It's hard to believe this is the same baby who started her life as a premie with a feeding tube. This baby can EAT. All babies are different and I really believe that with my whole heart, some love food, others aren't so interested. I'll share some of the basics for introducing solids into your baby's life but just like with the formula vs. breastmilk thing... fed is best. Feed your baby. Love your baby. Don't get too hung up on whether or not you're doing it "right".
