Total Lunar Eclipse: View from the Moon
On September 28, 2015 Universal Time (the evening of the 27th for the Americas), the Moon enters the Earth's shadow, creating a total lunar eclipse. When viewed from the Moon, as in this visualization, the Earth hides the Sun. A red ring, the sum of all Earth's sunrises and sunsets, lines the Earth's limb and casts a ruddy light on the lunar landscape. With the darkness of the eclipse, the stars come out.
The city lights of North and South America and of western Europe and Africa are visible on the night side of the Earth. The part of the Earth seen in this visualization is the part where the lunar eclipse is visible.

NASA's EPIC View of 2017 Eclipse Across America
From a million miles out in space, NASA's Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) captured 12 natural color images of the moon's shadow crossing over North America on Aug. 21, 2017.
EPIC is aboard NOAA's Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR), where it photographs the full sunlit side of Earth every day, giving it a unique view of total solar eclipses.

NASA's Artemis I Rocket Launch from Launch Pad 39B Perimeter
On Nov. 16, 2022, the Orion spacecraft launched aboard the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center and embarked on the #Artemis I mission to the Moon and back. Orion orbited the Moon, getting as close as 79 miles to the lunar surface, and successfully splashed back down to Earth 25.5 days later on Dec. 11.
Four RS-25 engines and two five-segment solid rocket boosters provided more than 8.8 million pounds of thrust for SLS during liftoff and flight. Thanks in part to development of a new RS-25 engine controller that checks engine health 50 times per second

NASA | Massive Black Hole Shreds Passing Star
When a star wanders too close to a black hole, intense tidal forces rip the star apart. In these events, called "tidal disruptions," some of the stellar debris is flung outward at high speed while the rest falls toward the black hole. This causes a distinct X-ray flare that can last for a few years. NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, Swift Gamma-ray Burst Explorer, and ESA/NASA's XMM-Newton collected different pieces of this astronomical puzzle in a tidal disruption event called ASASSN-141i, which was found in an optical search by the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN) in November 2014. The event occurred near a supermassive black hole estimated to weigina few million times the mass of the sun in the center of PGC 043234, a galaxy that lies about 290 million

NASA | Sarychev Volcano Eruption from the International Space Station
On June 12, 2009, a fortuitous orbit of the International Space Station (ISS) made it possible for an astronaut on board to capture Sarychev Volcano in the early stages of eruption. The volcano is located on the northwestern end of Matua Island, which is part of the Kuril Islands, a chain of 56 islands northeast of Japan. The eruption sent a plume of brown-colored ash and white steam rising into the atmosphere. The plume was so immense that it cast a large shadow on the island. Sarychev is one of the most active volcanoes in the Kuril Island chain. Prior to June 12, the last explosive eruption occurred in 1989, with eruptions in 1986, 1976, 1954, and 1946 also producing lava flows. Watch the video to see how the eruption looked from space.

Peacock spreading it's long feathers. The Most Beautiful Peacock Dance Display Ever - Peacocks Opening Feathers and Bird Sound HD Peacocks are large, colorful pheasants typically blue and green and known for their iridescent tails. Many people ask if peacocks are birds of paradise, to which the answer is no- a bird of paradise belongs to a totally seperate family of birds. These tail feathers of the peacock, or coverts, spread out in a distinctive train that is more than 60 percent of the birds total body length and boast colorful "eye" markings of blue, gold, red, and other hues. The large train is used in mating rituals and courtship displays. It can be arched into a magnificent fan that reaches across the bird's back and touches the ground on either side. Females are believed to choose their mates according to the size, color, and quality of these outrageous feather trains.
