Hike 4/1/2019 White Rock Acres Campfire
I return to the campfire site I built 0.4 miles down the trail and into the wilds. It's hard to find the exact spot in the middle of the woods even with all the foliage absent. But I managed to get back there again without wandering around aimlessly.

Hike - Bogs and Thickets at State Game Lands 242
This is the first time I hiked this area, State Game Lands Number 242 off S. York Road near Mechanicsburg, PA. It lies at the base of a mountain, so the recent rains had made it wet and boggy. Of special interest is what looks like a burial mound complete with iron grave marker a few hundred yards into the woods.

Mountain Biking on the Darlington Trail
My mountain bike ride on the Darlington Trail off Lambs Gap Road near Mechanicsburg, PA. The day was hot and buggy, the trail steep and stony. A tough ride for an old man.

Gzsaipasi Molle Tactical Pouch Review
I review the Gzsaipasi Molle Tactical Pouch. A nice little pouch to keep your small things separate and organized. Good for compartmentalizing in a backpack for hiking or camping.

Hike & Campfire from 03/11/2019 At Fast Speed
Video of my hike and campfire building from March 11, 2019 at White Rock Acres near the Appalachian Trail sped up to 12x speed, an 18-minute sequence reduced to a minute and a half. It's cool to notice the shadows of the trees creeping across the ground.

Hike - White Rock Acres - Fire in the Snow 3/11/2019
I took this hike at White Rock Acres in Pennsylvania on a connector trail to the Appalachian Trail on March 11, 2019. There was still snow on the ground, and due to it melting and recent rains, the ground was wet and damp, making any sticks or branches laying in it damp as well. It was a challenge to get a fire started, but I managed to scavenge mostly dry wood by gathering branches that were tilted up off the ground away from the dampness. The trusty cotton ball and petroleum jelly fire starter helped a lot in getting the wood burning as well.

Hike at White Rock Acres in the Snow - 3/7/2019
This is a walk I took on a connector trail near the Appalachian Trail at White Rock Acres near Boiling Springs, PA. It was March 7 (2019) and snow still covered the woods a few inches deep. The temperature was about 35 degrees, but with no wind it was quite a comfortable walk - except for having to watch for stepping on rocks beneath the snow.

Saint Anthony’s Wilderness: A Land of Long Forgotten Hope, Industry, and Prosperity
The vast forest of Pennsylvania’s Stony Valley, earlier called Saint Anthony's Wilderness, harbors the remains of a once great establishment. Long lost to memory are the missionaries, mining towns, lumber camps, railroads, and lakeside resort of a past era.

Rudolf's Eye Spot
Unknown to many is the spurious eye spot on Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer's eye. It comes as fast as it goes, but I give an in-depth analysis into the phenomena which ranges from a harmless medical condition to demonic possession. This is a Rudolph you've never seen before.

Walk Behind the Cemetery
This is a walk I took behind the Mechanicsburg Cemetery this past January, 2019. Video is shot with the Apeman Trawo A100 action camera. I have no idea what is beneath the boards laid across the grave in the beginning of the video.

Action Cam - 12/27/2018
Trying out my new action camera for the first time - the Apeman Trawo A100. It's an excellent camera, but I rigged up a cheap mount to wear on my cap. Since then I've gotten a proper head strap mount.

Walk with the Apeman A70 Action Camera - First Shoot
This is the first shoot I made with the Apeman A70 action camera to test its abilities. For a $40 camera, it gives very good video at 1080p 30 fps. It has great clarity, color, and motion. The anti-shake function helps to smooth out minor wobbles, although higher-priced cameras will eliminate much more shaking. The lens angle is permanently set at a very wide angle (170 degrees), making it useful for getting lots of scenery in the shot, such as when hiking or biking or practically any outdoor activity. All in all, a good little action camera for such a low price.

Best Send-Off Lines in Movies
What's better when you're sending someone off to meet their maker than to utter some truly awesome line just before you do it? I've compiled a number of the best send-off lines ever uttered in film. Enjoy!

THIS SIDE OF MIDNIGHT
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DNLK4D7
Christopher Irving is reserved, clean, intelligent, and...different. His interest in things old and of things dead has led him too far. His strange habits have brought him to isolation and failure. But when a mysterious voice taunts him with forecasts of his own death, Christopher sets out to stop it no matter what it takes. His life of wearing snappy polo shirts and eating dried apricots has expanded to include indulging in a bit of savage retribution. The line between the living and the dead becomes blurred with deadly consequences in this dark psychological thriller.
THE KEEPER OF THE FLAME
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083RCRHPH
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, before Man knew how to create fire, a spark from Nature could mean the difference between life and death. The precious fire started by a lightning strike was harnessed by the Logok tribe. One man was put in charge of keeping the fire alive. If the fire should die, then so should he. Gelp, the young inept man who was useless at hunting and fighting, was given the sacred duty. Keeping the fire alive consumed all of his life, costing him his freedom and everything that he loved. But in the midst of war, anguish, and treachery, Gelp discovers the strength to rise up against his adversaries, reclaim his life, and defend the honor of the ancient Logok tribe. But the fiercest warrior of the tribe and his traitorous band of henchmen stood in the way. This is the story of one man facing off against terrifyingly high odds in a primitive and brutal world.
