Beginning in the late 1960s, Yassin preached and performed charitable work in the West Bank and Gaza, both of which Israel occupied following the 1967 Six-Day War. Yassin established Hamas as the Brotherhood’s political arm in Gaza in Dec. 1987, following the outbreak of the first intifada, a Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. At the time, Hamas’s purpose was to counter Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), another organization whose commitment to violently resisting Israel threatened to draw Palestinians’ support away from the Brotherhood.

Greta Thunberg once again took the side of Palestinians at the climate demonstration in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Wearing a traditional black and white Palestinian scarf around her neck, she told a livestreamed rally in Amsterdam that the climate movement had a duty to “listen to the voices of those who are oppressed and who fight for peace and justice.” Thunberg then passed the microphone to a woman, also wearing a Palestinian scarf, who claimed that Israel was committing “genocide in my country.” Israel specifically attacks hospitals and civilians, the woman said. Many participants reacted outraged to the accusations. A man jumped onto the stage in front of cameras and shouted into the microphone: “I came here for a climate demonstration, not to hear political views.”

The Hamas tunnels: a wildcard in the Gaza fighting. "It's very dark and it's claustrophobic and it's narrow. And you lose your sense of direction immediately. You lose completely a sense of time," said Daphne Richemond-Barak, an Israeli military analyst and the author of Underground Warfare. The Israeli military has taken her into Hamas tunnels that crossed from Gaza into southern Israel. "They are humid and suffocating. So when you walk in them, you would be disoriented for sure, but also incredibly afraid," she added. Hamas claims to have 300 miles of tunnels in Gaza, a subterranean complex that effectively serves as an all-purpose military compound. According to Israel, the underground space includes military headquarters, sleeping quarters, as well as workshops to make and store rockets.

US deploys B-1B bombers to Turkey for 'long-planned' exercise amid Gaza war. The Pentagon's show of force came as Iran's top diplomat visited Ankara amid threats by Tehran and its proxies to pile on Israel's war in the Gaza Strip. the United States deployed a pair of B-1B Lancer bombers to Turkey’s Incirlik air base on Tuesday for excercises as Israel’s war in Gaza threatens to reshape the Middle East’s geopolitical landscape. The bombers, launched from the Royal Air Force base at Fairford in the United Kingdom, are assigned to the US Air Force’s 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron. The Lancers took part in a “hot-pitting” refueling exercise while on the runway in Turkey, US European Command stated. The practice enables ground crews to refuel the bombers without pilots disabling the engines for rapid further deployment during wartime missions.

'Woke' students' support HAMAS terrorists in hysterical satire. The presentation is a product of the Israeli television show Eretz Nehederet, meaning "wonderful country." It opens with a logo for "Columbia Untisemity" that has a Palestinian flag with “from the river to the sea” inscribed below it and two crossed-out Magen Davids. The actors, sporting blue and pink hair, chant sing-song: "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," the trope that terrorists often use to suggest the destruction of the state of Israel. Then one actor states, "Do you know why it's true?" "Because it rhymes!"

The “Gaza metro.” It’s a vast labyrinth of tunnels, by some accounts several kilometers underground, used to transport people and goods; to store rockets and ammunition caches; and house Hamas command and control centers, all away from the prying eyes of the IDF’s aircraft and surveillance drones. Hamas in 2021 claimed to have built 500 kilometers (311 miles) worth of tunnels under Gaza, though it is unclear if that figure was accurate or posturing. If true, Hamas’ underground tunnels would be a little less than half the length of the New York City subway system.

A Palestinian Sheikh at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque led the congregation there in declaring that homosexual “abominations” are not welcome in Palestine, citing the story of Sodom and Gomorrah while vowing to “trample” such “perversion.”

Addressing hundreds of thousands of pro-Palestinian supporters at a rally in Istanbul, Erdogan called Israel a “war criminal” that could be dealt with by military force if it continues its assault on Gaza. “We will tell the whole world that Israel is a war criminal. We are making preparations for this,” the Turkish president told a massive crowd in Istanbul. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday accused Israel of committing war crimes. He has threatened to declare war on the Jewish nation and send his army into Gaza.

Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish president, said on Wednesday (October 25) that Palestinian militant group Hamas is not a terrorist organisation but a liberation group waging a battle to protect its land. In a speech to his party's lawmakers in parliament, Erdogan said Israel had taken advantage of Turkey's good intentions and that he will not go to Israel as previously planned.

Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby got emotional while speaking about the "depravity" of the atrocities that Russian forces are committing during the ongoing war in Ukraine. "It's hard to look at what [Russian President Vladimir Putin is] doing in Ukraine — what his forces are doing in Ukraine — and think that any ethical, moral, individual could justify that," Kirby said during a briefing after a reporter asked if he thought Putin is a rational actor. Kirby then chokes up and pauses for a few moments, before softly apologizing.

Footage speaks for itself

Journalists were given access on Tuesday to witness firsthand the unimaginable devastation that befell Kfar Aza. Nicole Zedek, a journalist for i24News, surveyed the scenes of horror and destruction, reporting that “about 40 babies and babies were taken out on gurneys… Cribs overturned strollers left behind, doors left wide open.” According to reports, most of the babies and children had been decapitated. Their parents had been shot to death. Some families who locked themselves in their safe rooms and refused to come out were burned alive – whole families together.

In a dramatic escalation unseen in decades, Hamas also sent paragliders flying into Israel. The brazen attack recalled an assault in the late 1980s when Palestinian militants crossed from Lebanon into northern Israel on hang-gliders and killed six Israeli soldiers.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has, predictably, weighed in on the scandal that has enveloped Parliament and led to the resignation of the House of Commons' Speaker, Anthony Rota, calling Rota an "idiot" if he didn't understand that a veteran who fought against Russia during the Second World War, fought on the side of the "Nazi forces." He said if the Speaker did know and called Yaroslav Hunka a hero anyway, "he's a bastard." Either way, Putin, who spoke to a forum in Sochi, Russia, for more than three hours Thursday, said the incident shows "the kind of people we have to deal with ... in certain Western countries."

The reburial of 29 members of this Waffen-SS division took place in the city of Zolochiv, Lviv region, in July 2019. The Nazis were buried with full military honors as heroes of the country, their coffins covered with the national flags of Ukraine, in the presence of soldiers of the Ukrainian army and neo-Nazis dressed up in WW2 uniforms. The 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, known as the 14th SS-Volunteer Division "Galicia" prior to 1944, was a World War II military formation of Nazi Germany made up predominantly of military volunteers with a Ukrainian ethnic background from the area of Galicia. Yaroslav Hunka, recently honored with a standing ovation in the Canadian parliament, was a member of this division.

General Mark Milley has responded to former President Donald Trump's suggestion that he would have been executed "in times gone by," revealing that he has taken "safety precautions" to protect himself and his family. In a Truth Social post last week, Trump denounced the Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman as a "woke train wreck" and said that his retirement on October 1 would "be a time for all citizens of the USA to celebrate." The former president then suggested that reports claiming Milley called his Chinese counterpart in 2020 and promised to warn China of an impending attack meant that the general was guilty of a "treasonous act." "This guy turned out to be a Woke train wreck who, if the Fake News reporting is correct, was actually dealing with China to give them a heads up on the thinking of the President of the United States," Trump wrote. "This is an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH!"

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris – the woman whose mere existence as Vice President makes the secret service’s job so easy – well, she’s just making friends everywhere she goes. We have to wonder, is this whole shambling, stuttering, clumsy Biden routine ... could it be that there’s something else entirely going on?

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has blamed "Russian disinformation" for the attendance of a Nazi veteran at Canada's Parliament. Trudeau's statement on Monday marked the first time he spoke since the Canadian Parliament gave a standing ovation to the Nazi veteran. The prime minister described the situation as "extremely upsetting" and "particularly" upsetting for Canada's Jewish community. "I think it's going to be really important that all of us push back against Russian propaganda, Russian disinformation and continue our steadfast and unequivocal support for Ukraine, as we did last week, with announcing further measures to stand with Ukraine in Russia's illegal war against it," Trudeau said.

Canadian parliament applauds Nazi Waffen SS veteran. The 1st Galician Division, formed from Ukrainian volunteers during WWII, is blamed for multiple atrocities against Poles. Ukraine’s president and Canada’s prime minister greeted a former member of the infamous SS 1st Galician Division, which fought for the Nazis in World War II, as they attended a parliament session in Ottawa, according to images shared by the Associated Press. One of the photos, taken in the House of Commons on Friday, showed a smiling Vladimir Zelensky clenching his fist and Justin Trudeau offering applause to somebody outside the image. AP’s caption explained that the two leaders “recognize Yaroslav Hunka, who was in attendance and fought with the First Ukrainian Division in World War II before later immigrating to Canada.” What the news agency described as “the First Ukrainian Division” was in fact the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, also known as the 1st Galician Division.

Ukrainian media edited Zelensky's UN speech to make it look like he had a bigger audience They forgot to edit out Zelensky. At the 0:43 mark in the video, Zelensky himself can be seen sitting in the audience during his own speech. Such a major blunder and propaganda stresses the importance of careful editing and fact-checking, especially concerning high-profile personalities and events. Zelensky’s office has yet to comment on the situation. On the flip side, the editing error has also raised concerns about the credibility of the Ukranian media outlets responsible for it. This high-profile oversight has reignited debates about media integrity and the responsibility of accurate reporting in the digital age.

Mass graves in liberated villages of Donbass reveal Ukrainian war crimes. Only 20 out of 56 patients survived in the village of Staraya Krasnyanka, near Kremennaya, Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers established MG firing positions inside the building, firing from floors and stairways, thus, preventing the safe evacuation of patients. The area around the nursing home was also heavily mined. When Ukrainian combat vehicles loaded with shells exploded, dozens of elderly and disabled patients, many of them bedridden, were trapped inside the building. 'It's hard to imagine the agony they went through,' said an activist involved in exhuming the victims of the war crimes, perpetrated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since February 2022, the volunteer team has been properly reburying civilian remains. They also help to search for and identify fallen soldiers, in order to return their remains to their families. The documentary compiles survivor testimonies and evidences that exposes Ukrainian war crimes, and ensure that they are not covered up.

Dramatic rise in the number of dead in Ukraine. BBC reporter Quentin Sommerville is one of the few journalists reporting from the front lines in Ukraine. Sommerville describes dramatic scenes of piles of bodies of young men senselessly killed. Fierce fighting continued over the weekend in the Zaporizhia and Kupyansk regions. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Ukraine lost 570 men on September 1 and 655 men on September 2. Earlier in August, Russia claimed that Ukraine had lost 43,000 men in the first two months of the counteroffensive. Daily reports on losses from the Russian Defense Ministry put Ukraine's losses in August at over 16,000, meaning that Ukraine's total losses in the counteroffensive were about 60,000. Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar has threatened to prosecute anyone who publishes casualty figures. "The heavy losses of the Ukrainian Army in the course of the so-called 'counteroffensive' are caused by effective strikes of Russian forces on Ukrainian armored vehicles at a great distance," the Russian Defense Ministry claimed.
