Sony just announced a brand new APSC camera to join their E-Mount lineup: the Sony A6400. In this video, I answer a bunch of questions from subscribers. While it is a bit disappointing that Sony announced a camera no one was waiting for, the new features point to the fact that Sony still cares about its APSC line, and there WILL BE a future “top of the line” Sony camera called the Sony A6600, A6700, or A7000. One thing I failed to talk more about in this video was the fact that Sony has put the processor from their $4,000 top of the line full frame camera into this little A6400. Combined with the flip up screen, continuous eye autofocus, object tracking, no record limit, significant reduction in overheating, new HLG video profile, new color science, built in time lapse, no-dim rear LCD, and customizable menus, it is a significant upgrade over even the $1,200 Sony A6500. Coming in at $898, it is a relative bargain when you compare its features to other cameras on the market. All of those reasons are why I’ve preordered mine.
