Cut the Lyoner in about 1cm thick cubes. Fry the Lyoner and the bacon, add the onion and leek. Then put aside and let it cool down. Whisk eggs and cream and add the Lyoner-onion mixture. Finally season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and paprika. Finally add the grated cheese. Grease a springform and put some baking paper on top. Add all of the mixture into the springform and put into the oven for about 40-45 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius. WE STAYED IN A MAGICAL TOWER IN YORKSHIRE - FULL TOUR!// Happy Tuesday everyone, In today's video we're sharing our long weekend in Richmond, North Yorkshire! We spent 3 nights in England's most romantic folly: Culloden Tower! This folly belongs to the Landmark Trust and is the perfect couple getaway! It spreads over 4 floors with an amazing sitting room and bedroom with a both gothic and classical style. The octagonal ceilings with their plasterwork and carvings are real works of art and it feels truly special to be there. The view from the big windows towards Richmond Castle is absolutely amazing. While our time at Culloden Tower, we also got a bit of snow which made it feel even more special during the festive season. Why we're making GERMAN STOLLEN in early November// In this video, we'll be making German Stollen in early November! Stollen is a German Christmas classic and is sure to be a hit at your holiday table. If you're a fan of Christmas breads, then you need to check out this German stollen recipe. This bread is dense and buttery and incredibly easy to make. Instead of yeast, we're using quark which is very very good. Christmas Stollen needs to be made at least 4 weeks ahead so that all the ingredients develop their full flavour. Make sure to watch the video to see how to make this classic German recipe! Enjoy! EARLY CHRISTMAS ENGLISH CHINA & POTTERY SHOPPING: Spode, Duchess China, Wedgwood & Burleigh// Happy Tuesday everyone, It's the end of October and we probably aren't the only people starting to think about Christmas and Christmas presents. Since Stoke-on-Trent is only a 40 minute drive from us and because we both really love English pottery & china, we thought it might be a wonderful idea for some early Christmas shopping and visited some of the factory shops to look for presents. We start with the amazing Spode Museum Trust Heritage Centre where they have such a wonderful museum shop which we can highly recommend. Spode China is simply beautiful! We then head to Duchess China 1888 which has the cutest factory shop too and then go to Wedgwood for tea and some browsing. Last but not least our go to, the Middleport Factory, to get some of our beloved Burleigh Pottery. Enjoy! Much love, Kirsten & Joerg xx _____ BOOK 'HOW TO COOK THE VICTORIAN WAY': https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B098D7XKRX/?tag=kirsten04b-21 NORDIC WARE CAKE BUNDT PAN (the one we use in the video is no longer available but we have this one too): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06VT7S7MB/?tag=kirsten04b-21 _____ RECIPE ALMOND & POTATOE PUDDING: INGREDIENTS 170 g/6 oz/1⁄2 cup cooked mashed potato 115 g/4 oz/generous 1 cup ground almonds 285 ml/1⁄2 pt/11⁄4 cups milk Finely grated zest and juice of 1 lemon 115 g/4 oz/1⁄2 cup butter, plus extra for the mould Pinch of ground nutmeg 5 eggs, separated 1⁄4 tsp cream of tartar or squeeze of lemon juice (optional) Salt Chopped almonds, to decorate lemon slices, to serve (optional) METHOD If you do not have any cold mashed potato to hand, start by peeling, dicing and mashing some potatoes and allowing them to cool. Put the ground almonds in a saucepan with the milk, lemon zest and juice, and butter. Warm until the butter is melted and the milk is blood-warm, and mix well. Remove from the heat and stir in the mash. Add the nutmeg and a good pinch of salt, together with the egg yolks. Mix well and set aside. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F. Whisk the egg whites to stiff peaks (the cream of tartar or a squeeze of lemon juice will help). Fold the eggs gently into the potato mix. Butter an 850 ml/11⁄2 pt/31⁄2 cups mould or 900 g/2 lb loaf tin and pour in the mixture. Give it a couple of gentle taps to settle it. Bake in the oven for 1 hour until light brown and set through. Invert onto a wire cooling rack, demould, decorate the top with chopped almonds and serve hot, surrounded by lemon slices (optional). You can also leave it to cool in the mould for 1 hour before turning it out, slicing it, sprinkling it with a little flour and frying it in a little butter. A COSY WEEKEND in Northumberland: Tour of our Airbnb & One of the prettiest English villages// Happy Tuesday, In today's video we're welcoming autumn with very cosy vibes! We just stayed in a gorgeous Airbnb in the most beautiful English countryside in Northumberland that we can't recommend any more highly. We give you a detailed tour of our airbnb at Swinburne Castle and think you will really love it. We also take you to the attractive town of Corbridge with its lovely shops and old buildings. Some streets look like straight out of a Charles Dickens novel. After that we're visiting Blanchland Northumberland for the very first time.
