I am glad to learn the cats know what the sound of cracking ice means. I have often worried about them going out on the ice and falling through. It's not that deep where we are walking in this video but I have seen them out on the Bay a few times and it's deeper out there. So, the ice was pretty thick in the Marsh and the top layer melted but there is still a thick amount of ice underneath. As you can see, Allan and I are walking on it and not falling to the murky depths. JK it's not that deep. Gotta be cold on the toe beans though! Now that we are heading towards Spring, we are getting back into our daily Cat Walks starting with our morning walk. It was 48 degrees today in our neck of the woods in Wisconsin and the ice is melting fast! Otis Cat is mesmerized every year by the bubbles that surface from under the melting ice in the Marsh. A 100+ year old house has a lot of history and we do see something dash between doorways sometimes or a faucet will turn on by itself and the attics are creepy! We have so many muskrats this year! I thought is was interesting the Muskrat ran TOWARDS perceived danger instead of away! Silly goose! Moral of the story is don't walk directly down a Muskrat trail.
