Why We Do Not Celebrate Halloween
Halloween is a celebration of death. Death is the entity and domain of Satan and is, therefore, an enemy of God. Jesus came not only to conquer Satan but to also conquer death’s rule over us.

Take Up Your Cross: What does this mean?
In Luke 9:23 Jesus said, "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Some have erroneously applied this statement to "grinning and bearing" sickness, death, and tragedy. In this study we will do a thorough examination of the Lord's statement and show that it’s origins are not found in Scripture but on false man-made ideas. We will also show that God’s character is often maligned by such teachings, therefore they should be vehemently rejected. For more Bible studies, visit us at vindicatinggod.org

Abraham, Isaac and Human Sacrifice (Part 3)
In Genesis 22:1, 2 we are told that God "tempted" Abraham when He asked him to perform a pagan ritual by sacrificing his son, Isaac. Yet, it was a ritual that God expresses hatred towards in other parts of scripture (Lev. 18:21; 20:2-4; Deut. 12:31; 2 Kings 21:6; Jer. 7:31; 19:5; 32:35; Eze. 20:31). Sadly, this has left some to question the loving character of God and others to use this passage as justification for murder. In this three part teaching series, we will study the narrative very carefully and discover that God never told Abraham to slay his son nor did He tell him to burn him as a sacrifice. We will also see that Abraham himself misunderstood God's command to him.

Understanding and Knowing God’s Character (Part 1)
Jeremiah 9:24 says, "c. But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character]" (Amplified Bible). One's character pertains to one's personality, nature or moral qualities: the thing that distinguishes this person from others. What a person is like? How they respond to certain situations, and how they treat others. Some claim that we could never fully know or understand God, yet God says that this is what He wants from us. In this series of teachings, Pastor Troy J. Edwards shows us that not only can we know and understand God, but it is vitally important that we do.
