Our buddy Cinnamon the groundhog investigates the hanging peanut ring. He wanted to extract a peanut, but a squirrel had different plans. The squirrel appears on the lower barn roof, then blasts off onto the peanut ring scaring the ground hog away. I am not sure about the peanut ring hanging, the groundhogs are comfy in a calm area. A squirrel that I have been slowly making friends with, gets very close when coming for a peanut. I try to get it to take from my hand, it comes within a few inches, but won't do it, so I drop the peanut and it picks it up right away. We have done this probably 50 times now. A very lucky squirrel who was attacked by a hawk stops by for a snack. You can clearly see it has 3 talon wounds from a hawk attack on its side. The squirrel seems to be recovering just fine so far.
