Do you enjoy watching art being done? In this video I share with you all some creative development as I work on my shading placements and tones. In this timelapse video you will see me practice where I want my darker areas and where I want my lighter areas. Not only am I practicing shading placement I am also practicing different tone spotting. For me shading is a very tricky area that I want to not only get very comfortable with I want to master some shading fundamentals. When I first started I had no idea on how I would even go about shading let alone placing the correct shading in the right areas along with knowing how dark to go was so daunting. I feel practicing shading on paper or even digitally is a great way for me to practice and build my skills in shading placement and shading gradients. I will bring an in depth review on this needle cart that I am using as well as some exercises we can implement to better our shading. Does stepping outside your comfort zone make you nervous or edgy? What is your strong suit and what is your weakness when it comes to tattooing? We will take a look at the packaging, we will take a close up look at the needles, we test out the stability and performance and more! In this close up video I tattoo a dotted bandit tattoo. This tattoo is made up of different sized circles to make up one image. Have you ever wanted to submit your tattoo work to hear another artists thoughts? I am very excited to kick off this new critique series with Critique Episode 11 for you all! Now the name critique may sound a bit harsh and maybe even intimidating, however the idea behind this series is NOT to shame, bash, laugh, or tell anyone they should not be tattooing, or anything like this. As most of you know I myself start tattooing about 1-2 years ago, while being an artist essentially since as long as I can remember. So I won't sit here and tell you what you need to be doing, what you have to do, what you outta be doing. What I will do is share what I would do to advance the tattoos submitted give practical approaches on what I would do or how I would approach this aspect of the tattoo. I also want to point out that just because I am the one giving my feedback DOES NOT make me more qualified to do better tattoos over you, it DOES NOT mean that I am better over you, it DOES NOT mean that I have more experience and you get my drift. I am here to encourage, shed light, and help others in the best possible direction. Just to reiterate it is not my intention to make this series to put anyone down, discourage anyone from fulfilling their dreams as a tattoo artist, or anything negative like this.
