The sacrifice of Cain. In the book of Hebrews, we learned that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. And we learned that Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice unto God than Cain. Now it wasn’t even that Cain’s sacrifice was less heartfelt than Abel’s. I believe that Cain really did mean it with his heart when he offered God his sacrifice of vegetables. But when we are outside of faith, we find that we are often doing the wrong things even with the best of intentions. Only by faith can we be led of God, and only then will we realize how powerful obedience becomes. Walk in faith and you can ensure that you are doing the right thing instead of the wrong thing. One man, a cruise ship worker, stopped to listen, and we had a good conversation. I prayed for his family who he is away from for much of the year and misses dearly. We couldn't find any groups of people to evangelize to, so we decided to take to the parking lots of Target and others while visiting Wasilla, Alaska. During the preaching, a few different people approached us. One of them was a heartbroken mom searching for answers and deliverance after relapsing and seeing her children taken from her because of it. Please pray for this woman, Casalina, as I can't imagine the pain she is feeling. Pray for her to find hope and deliverance and to draw near to God in repentance. Thanks for praying for us! Double standard: “If you want to save souls, go to church.” A lady in Anchorage told me this while preaching on the street in Anchorage.
