There's no better day than today to create a 3D-printed version of one of my beloved pop culture characters - Indiana Jones. With his trademark fedora hat, brown leather jacket, and bullwhip, Prof. Henry "Indiana" Jones Jr. is an iconic symbol of adventure. A fictional character created by filmmaker George Lucas and portrayed by actor Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones is an adventurous archaeologist and professor of archaeology known for his quick wit and resourcefulness. He usuually embarks on daring quests in search of ancient artifacts, facing supernatural elements along the way. The Indiana Jones film series includes "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981) (One of my favourite movies from childhood), "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" (1984), "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (1989), "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (2008) and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" (2023). These movies have been immensely popular, establishing Indiana Jones as a beloved character with a global fan following. My 3D Printing Chronicles: Today, I am showcasing a 3D-printed miniature replica of the treasury of Petra, in Jordan. The Treasury, also known as Al-Khazneh, is one of the most iconic and well-preserved structures in Petra. It is the most recognized facade in the entire ancient city and has been featured in numerous films, including "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." The Treasury gets its name from the legend that it contained hidden treasures, but it was actually built as a tomb for a Nabataean king, possibly King Aretas IV. Petra is an ancient city located in present-day Jordan that was the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom from around the 1st century BCE to the 2nd century CE. It is famous for its stunning rock-cut architecture and intricate structures carved into the red sandstone cliffs.
