Genesis Chapter 4, Commentary by: Rabbi Patrick McGuire - BYTA (Beit Yeshua Torah Assembly)
This chapter is going to show the fruit that springs up out of that root of sin.
This chapter exemplifies the conflict between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, which is Cain and Abel.
We are approaching areas of Scripture that can't be explained any other way in the Book of Genesis other than this: "they had to know of the Torah." This is one of the first examples. We are going to uncover dozens of them as we go through Genesis! Genesis is filled with proof that Torah was being obeyed by the people and it was in existence, and that they feared it. If you doubt that, answer these questions.
How did Abraham keep Elohim’s Commandments and Statutes, if they weren’t Commandments and Statutes yet?
Why were Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed? Was it for breaking the laws of believing that didn't exist yet?
How did Joseph know that by committing adultery with Potiphar’s wife was a sin against Elohim?
We will show you exactly where to find the answers and it will make perfect sense.
The events at Mount Sinai were merely a covenant that was made between Elohim and Israel. It wasn't "the giving of the law" at all. The Torah was already there! The covenant (agreement) was this: "If you obey My Torah, you'll be My people and I'll be your Elohim." Israel responded by saying, "everything You say we will do!" That's what happened at Mount Sinai. It wasn't the origination of anything other than an agreement. It was Elohim making a Covenant with His People. Many people think, "It was the beginning of the law," but no, it’s not. In Genesis you will see intricate portions of the Torah, little tiny things of the law, being followed. Logic makes us ask “Wow, how did they know to follow that?” Come join us and we’ll show you.

Genesis 3
Skeptics have often asked; "How could a Holy and loving Elohim, who created such a perfect world, allow evil and corruption to appear at all?" What they really mean is, "If I were God, I would have done it better!" That's the truth behind such words. Why did He allow evil and corruption to come into the world at all? Why give them the capacity to disobey? Why have this serpent? The only real answer to that question is that it's all part of His plan. That's the way He wants it. That's the way He wanted it from the beginning.
What do we know about the Serpent? We’re quick to say that the serpent is Satan himself, but how do we know that? How do we know this is Satan? Does it say "Satan" anywhere in this account? Nowhere in Genesis does it say it was Satan. The theory that Satan was this a fallen angel, that he was once a perfect angel and was guarding the throne of Elohim and he suddenly developed pride, he waited till Elohim turned His back on him, then he got prideful and tried to rebel. That is not true, that is not in Scripture. But we will tell you what is in Scripture and who it is they are talking about. People that have fallen for that theory state that Satan is a fallen angel. They state that he fell to earth between the time of creation and this time in Genesis 3. There’s not a single scripture that backs up that silly claim.
We will show exactly where, in Scripture, it states that the serpent in the garden was Satan.
Scripture says Elohim created evil. A lot of people have a problem with that. We will show you where to find it, and how it is a part of His plan. Find out the relationship between sin and "nakedness" and where to find it in Scripture. Paul writes about this also.

Men have been twisting the words of Paul and other Scriptures to line up with their pagan and evil traditions. Yeshua warned about forsaking the Torah of Elohim for the sake of man’s traditions (Matt. 15:3, Mark 7:6-9).
(2 Pet 3:17 NASB) You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness,
2 Pet 3:17: Peter warns us to be on guard lest we be carried away by the error of “unprincipled men.” The Greek word for “unprincipled men” is G113. athesmos, ath’-es-mos; from G1 (as a neg. particle) and a der. of G5087 (in the sense of enacting); lawless, i.e. (by impl.) criminal:–wicked. He is warning us to be on guard lest we be carried away by the error of lawless men that twist Paul’s letters and the rest of Scripture to their own destruction.
(2 Pet 3:18 NASB) but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
2 Pet 3:18: Peter ends his second letter by telling the readers to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Yeshua Messiah. We do that by studying His Torah and living it in our lives, just as He did.
With that in mind, let’s look at the passages the author reference's.

Genesis Chapter 2
In chapter 1, we discussed how someone's initial point of view or perspective will change how they interpret things. It won’t change what they see, but it will change how they interpret it. Evolutionists will say, "There is no God, and since there is no God, I must interpret all of creation: How did it come about? How did it get this way? Why does it look that way?" Whereas, if you believe in Elohim, you can trust that He created all things and the world we see today was largely affected by the worldwide flood.
Then there is Christianity. Their initial interpretation when they look at Scripture is, "we are not to obey the Torah of Elohim." They don't necessarily say it that that way. They say "We're not under to the law. I’m saved by Grace, through faith, not by keeping the law. Therefore I am not under the law. I cannot and do not keep the law. Therefore, I know nothing about the law." That mentality will lead to the rest of their interpretation of scripture.
In this chapter, we respond to Dr. John MacArthur. Dr. MacArthur is a very popular Christian author, theologian, and a real "Bible answer guy." He writes, "there is no evidence in the Bible, of anyone keeping the Sabbath before the time of Moses. Nor are there any commands in the Bible to keep the Sabbath before the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai." Is he correct? Watch and find out!

Genesis Chapter 1 - 2023, Start a new life - the right way!
Genesis can be a very touchy subject for a lot of people. Most Christians want to ignore the Torah. (The Torah is the first five books of Scripture.)
One cannot know much of anything about Messiah without knowing the first five books of Scripture, because that's who He is. (More on that later...)
Genesis gives us the beginning of all things Scriptural. The beginnings of the heavens and earth, of all living things, of man, of Torah, of sin, and of the beginning of His people Israel. Genesis is probably the most attacked book in scripture. Those who choose to trust in the literal words of the Father in Scripture are often looked at with derision by most in academia and in the media. While Genesis focuses on the history of man. It quickly eventuates to the origin of His people, Israel.
The fathers of His people, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are the focus of this book; their origins, their families, their failures, and their successes are highlighted throughout. We'll see that they were not chosen because they were better people than everybody else. But they were chosen because Elohim decided to choose them. It's that simple. They were chosen because it was an omniscient decision of the Father.
As we go through Genesis, we will give evidence and proof that the Torah, (not always followed, broken at times), existed from the very beginning. Long before Mount Sinai, the Torah was already there. Come join us and see!

In the KJV, they call tumors - emerods;
Hemorrhoids or tumors. One of the diseases of the Egyptians, and with which the Philistines were smitten when they had possession of the ark. They returned “images” of the same with the ark (Deut. 28:27; 1 Sam. 5:6-12; 1 Sam. 6:4-17).
