Abandoned Home Demolition Southern Illinois - Day 2.1 with the Bobcat Mini Excavator
It's demolition time again at Kapper Outdoors! This time I am tackling an abandoned collapsing block house and adjoining garage. This is day 2 of removing tons of debris and garbage from the garage area. With most of the scrap metal removed for recycling it's time to move in with the Bobcat. In today's day 2 episode I will bring in the Bobcat e42 R series mini excavator to try to take down the 2 story, all block abandoned home. It was a bit of a rough start getting the first, 2 story block wall to crumble since the spacing was very tight, and my excavator was right up next to the building, but I was able to improvise, adapt and overcome! Here are a couple of previous episodes of this cinder block abandoned home demolition:

My wife's trail cam parody of me!! And bonus Polaris Ranger ride and fresh air
Hey it's pro staffer Sharon here! LOL. You ready for some fun and entertainment? Today I'm going to gather up some of Joe's trail cameras on our Southern Illinois Farm. I'm also going to verify if he is really the expert on hanging them at Kapper Outdoors. A little (OK a lot of) humor, some fun and good times are ahead. I find some very, let's say, "interesting" methods he used. Will they work?
Join me for some scenic riding in the Polaris Ranger UTV through the hills, creek bed, woods and food plots with the heated cab that I am definitely enjoying on this cold winter day! Grab a chair, sit back and enjoy the scenery and parody as we try to have some fun together living the dream!

Taking down a widowmaker with bobcat e42 R-2 series mini excavator
Jan 21, 2022. Join us for a quick video of taking down a big widowmaker tree that had several very big branches still on it up at the top. We did not have a chainsaw handy so I gave it a push with the bobcat e42 R-2 series mini excavator. I pushed it as slowly as I could, as I have learned that if you push them a little fast, that is when the big, dead branches up top want to break off! This is on a home demolition project, so stay tuned to the channel for the demolition mini series coming out soon. I'll have to demolish it in 2 parts since we filled the dumpster up pretty fast on the first day! Thank you. Kapper Outdoors, living the dream, one acre at a time. Modern homestead VLOG Exploring Rock Formations, Deep Woods, Polaris Northstar Ride & Fresh Air
It was finally sunny outside, even though it was plenty cold! Join Sharon and I for today's Kapper farm vlog on a fun and sunny Sunday afternoon as we head out into the woods of our beautiful Southern Illinois farm for a multi tasking adventure. This is private land Southern Illinois hiking at it's finest, when you can explore awesome rock formations right on your own farm! Our farm is nestled inside of the ten's of thousands of acres of the Shawnee National forest, so we share some incredible land and rock structures. In today's episode, our first mission was to go and dig out a future food plot drag that Sharon found buried in the woods. There was likely an old pig barn at this location based on all of the remains that we found in this area. Then we'll take a few minutes to check out another very cool rock formation with a few small waterfalls going down it. This is not the big water falls that we have on our property, but this rock outcropping is really cool nonetheless!! Then we'll pull in some of my trail cameras, since the Illinois deer season just ended. Of course, 2 of these trail camera's that I was taking down had like 18 knots in the strap(s) and it took me like 40 minutes just to unwind each of them! LOL. Gee, I wonder who was the guilty party that did that!? Thanks for joining us today for some fresh air and a nice walk in the woods to boot! Just another video of keeping it real here at the Kapper Farm! Join me for a short and fun video as we will each get another laugh at my expense! But hey, if you can't laugh at yourself, than maybe you are just taking life too seriously! In today's Illinois deer hunting vlog we'll get some fresh air from our Illinois hunting land. I'll lay out another 'bad luck' incident that I had happen to me on my VERY FIRST hunt of the season! Yep, been working on the land projects all year, food plotting, deer strategy and more, all in order to kick off the fall Illinois deer season! They say the very First hunt is always the best right!? Well, not in this case! LOL. Just keeping it real folks since it is winter time, and we now have crummy weather, but I am glad that you can join me for a laugh at my expense on this one! 6 months later.. Did the pond spillway pipes and rip rap hold?
Jan 14, 2022; A follow up to some great land management projects from earlier this year. Today, let's get some fresh air, and look back at these 2 land management projects from earlier this year and let's see if the new pond dam and overflow pipes held after months of heavy rains, or if I have to rebuild it all!
Here is the video description from the very first episode of this pond build:
DAY 1 of starting this new pond project with my new 36 inch mini excavator digging bucket, aka 'the Godzilla bucket,' and my bobcat e42 R series mini excavator. Join me in the cab and for some time lapse videos and my buddy Mark is going to be joining me today with his compact tractor to move some the the good dirt that I stockpiled for him from this pond project. This pond building project is part of a larger land management plan that Mark has been implementing on his rural Southern Illinois farm for the last several years now. This pond will accomplish several goals: A) divert a runoff ditch from a farm field into this pond, which will dry up a part of the farm field. B) catch water from another major ditch runoff and slow the water and erosion below the new pond. C) Create a new crossing with a culvert pipe around the pond. And D) Will create a new permanent watering source for wildlife diversity. I hope you enjoy this project and stay tuned for the next parts coming out very soon. And as always if you enjoy our content please hit the Like button and share it to help us grow our very diverse land management and country living family on our Channel. Southern Illinois bass fishing-Father and son bass fishing time
Oct 2021. I had a great visit when my youngest son, Alan, and his buddy came down from Vermont all the way to Southern Illinois for a great fall visit. On this particularly beautiful and sunny evening I got to spend some time with my son while he casted and enjoyed some Southern Illinois bass fishing, having a cold adult beverage, a little embellishing and of course solving the worlds problems! We made some great memories. Owning land is more than just the 'land' portion of living the dream. Enjoying some father and son fishing and catching some Illinois farm pond bass is another big part of owning some land with a small pond on it. Thanks for the visit Alan and Justin, I had a great time! Thanks for joining us today and we hope you'll like and subscribe to follow all of our unique country living adventures, land management projects, wildlife conservation projects, and much more. Back in the woods on our 1st project of 2022. Clearing land for cabin build
EP #7 of our latest adventure/land investment project from our Southern Illinois farm. Join us today for the very beginning of our next series of the entire process of building a new VRBO rustic cabin build series from our Southern Illinois land, which is smack dab in the middle of the Shawnee National Forest here in Southern Illinois. In today's episode, our first time back out on this project for 2022, my buddy the 'plot slayer' came back out and ran my Bobcat T650 CTL skid steer, while I continued to work with the Bobcat e42 R2 series mini excavator pulling more trees, clearing brush and doing some early rough grading of the dirt. On the bobcat mini excavator I will have my 12 inch, narrow bucket on to help cut through the tree roots to remove the trees, brush and debris that I clear from the woods. We will be making several different piles of trees and brush; One will be a slash pile of all the junk stuff, then a cedar pile for future DIY cedar projects, which will include using some of this western red cedar to decorate the future new cabin, then a sassafras pile for more DIY rustic projects, and a Cherry wood pile for future wood projects, or smoking wood and lastly a firewood pile for future sales of firewood. Sharon will also be exploring the future pond site for trees that will be of use for her to make some DIY rustic cabin decor/farmhouse decor projects for the new VRBO cabin. Thank you for joining us today, if you enjoy this video please hit the like button and share it to help us continue to grow our YouTube channel family, we'd greatly appreciate that! Will high temp gasket maker work on my Rhino HD tiller gearbox leak?
After changing the gear ratio on my Rhino HD tractor tiller, it developed a leak in the gasket of the gear box. I tried snugging the bolts up a little, but that did not work. I then spoke with a tractor dealer and ordered a new gasket for the tiller. However, the gasket they sent me was clearly not the right one. The gasket on the Rhino HD tiller gearbox was a formed gasket and the one that they sent me was a small, round gasket, barely the size of the end of a sharpened pencil! So, after unsuccessfully finding the right formed gasket for the gearbox leak I decided to try a high temp, red gasket maker. I did talk to my buddy the Plot Slayer since he has a lot more experience than me in this arena and he said to go ahead and re-use the original gasket but just use a little less of the gasket maker (gasket 'sealer' and gasket 'maker' are different products). So after clearing it off with Brakleen (tm) I gave it a go. Join me for the results, and I hope to see you soon when we can get back to the woods and fields for more land management projects! Kapper Outdoors Kentucky land for sale! NEW PRICE Home & 201 acres!
One of a kind incredible Kentucky, Crittenden hunting land for sale! 201 mostly wooded acres with a completely renovated farmhouse/cabin for sale on a dead end road! (Please, very serious inquiries only). If you would like more visual and on the ground information about this Kentucky land, which is our personal farm, here is the link to the complete video playlist from the last 3 years of this property:
KENTUCKY FARMHOUSE REHAB PROJECT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2ab6-NPgIE&list=PLBsh6BAME40A2x_5Ed7JWxJqdoUclNzv3

KENTUCKY TRAIL CAM VIDEOS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIwwgxaFwjs&list=PLBsh6BAME40DwI3JCxsSaWXygxmkXWc4S
This video gives most of the details of this beautiful Western Kentucky farm for sale, but here are some more: The asking price for this 201 acres, including the home is $629,900 for everything. Simply stated, this farm is an absolute one of a kind property that is extremely well rounded and diverse as you will see in this video. Both parcels are fully surveyed. The house has been completely renovated, and is approximately 900 to 1,000 square feet with 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a bunk bed, living room, kitchen, full bathroom with tub and a laundry/mud room. The electrical has all been updated with new HVAC central heating and air conditioning. There is internet service on the road, and the home has county water. There are also several old barns on the property that have old sawmill barn boards on them. The 190 acre parcel has a gravel rough pad for a camper, with electric and county water already run to the camper/building site. It is like owning your own mini mountain top, but with many more benefits than an actual mountain. This property is incredibly diverse with all of the hunting/investment/recreation check box's marked. There is marketable timber on the property, 30 acres of tillable fields spread out across the beautiful hilltop, a very diverse mix of hardwoods, softwoods, oaks, creeks, ponds, seasonal chanterelle and morel mushrooms and more that make this the complete property! It is located on a dead end road, and borders a 300+ acre property that sits at the very end of the dead end. There are several very beautiful building sites and great views from on top of the property. We have been investing in land for many decades and simply put this is the most stunning property of them all! We've owned land in 6 different states, and this one takes the cake, there is no doubt about that. It is located in Crittenden County, and is only about a 10 minute drive to Marion, Kentucky, where you have all of the amenities that you will need. Enjoy local Amish furniture and fresh produce. It also sits near the Ohio river and the Cave in Rock Ferry crossing from Southern Illinois. It is about an hour from Paducah, Kentucky as well, and Kentucky Lake is only 40 miles away. This land is priced at the high end of current pricing, and for good reason. You simply just can't go out and find another one like it! The deer, turkey and wildlife habitat is nothing short of amazing, and it also has more huge potential to be improved upon as well! Property taxes are about $1,100 a year for both properties. This property already has a nice deer age structure in place as the surrounding farms are mostly larger acreage and QDM has been in place for many years.
