This Memorial Day, I strongly believe we need men to stand up like never before. In the past, men were willing and ready to step up for the hard fight ahead in the pursuit of stopping anything or anyone who stood in the way of our country's constitutional beliefs and values. Today, they are hard to find. Far too many men are content sitting in their homes, getting fatter and lazier while they complain about the country's decline on their phones, posting other people's words and work and feeling like they've "fought the good fight" for today. This Memorial Day, it's hard to honor those who stood and gave everything for their beliefs, their convictions, and their passion for this country while not also looking at the state of men today. For most of recorded history, men have been very connected to the environment they live in. They worked the land and fed themselves and their families from the land. The thing is, the natural world is incredibly harsh. We like to romanticize the coy bow on the open plain, or the explorer cutting his way through a thick forest - but the reality is that these environments we're extremely tough, and made life difficult to a level most of us will never realize. Today, many of us live in places that are the opposite of that. Areas created to make life easier, less dramatic and unforgiving, and in general softer... which could play a bigger role than we realize in making men weak.
