7 Best Ways To Treat Rosacea
How to treat rosacea.
#rosacea #howtotreatrosacea #bestrosaceatreatments
What is Rosacea?
Rosacea is a common facial rash of unknown cause. It affects the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead of those in their 30s or older.
What are the symptoms of Rosacea?
* facial flushing
* facial redness
* spots that look like acne
* thickening of your skin
* eye problems such as dry eyes and sore eyelids.
Not all symptoms occur in all cases!
What causes Rosacea?
There are several theories including genetic, environmental, vascular and inflammatory factors. Skin damage due to chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation plays a part.
High concentrations of antimicrobial peptides (that are important in the skin's immune response) such as cathelicidins have been observed in rosacea. Cathelicidins promote infiltration of neutrophils in the dermis and dilation of blood vessels. Fluid leaks out of these dilated blood vessels causing swelling. Enzymes such as collagenase and elastase remodel normal tissue and help in wound healing and production of blood vessels. In rosacea, they are in high concentration and may contribute to thick, hard skin. Hair follicle mites (Demodex folliculorum) are more common in people with Rosacea, we don't understand why. An increased incidence of rosacea has been reported in those who carry the stomach bacterium Helicobacter pylori, but most dermatologists do not believe it to be the cause of rosacea.
Who develops Rosacea?
Rosacea affects about 1 in 10 people, usually in their middle age, especially those with fair-skin, blue eyes and of Celtic origin.
Other Skin Disorders That Look Like Rosacea:
• Acne vulgaris
• Steroid rosacea
• Periorificialdermatitisorperiocular dermatitis
• Demodicosis
• Flushingdue to other causes
• Keratosispilaris rubra faciei
• Skin ageing
• Rosacea fulminans
• Seborrhoeicdermatitis
• Irritantcontact dermatitis
• Systemic(acute) lupus erythematosus
• Dermatomyositis
Common Rosacea Triggers:
The most common things reported that may trigger the skin to flush are:
• Extremes of temperature (in particular, excessive heat).
• Alcoholic drinks.
• Strenuous exercise.
• Stressful situations.
• Sunlight.
• Spicy food.
• Hot drinks.

How To Get Rid Of Dark Spots Now 🚫
How to get rid of dark acne spots now. Learn the 8 best treatments for acne dark spots and the best treatment for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
#postinflammatoryhyperpigmentation
What is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark spots)?
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a temporary change in colour of skin that happens after inflamed acne has recently healed.
What are the types of colour changes seen after acne?
Postinflammatory erythema – pink or purple flat patches
Postinflammatory pigmentation – brown marks (pigmentation), seen in people who can tan easily
Postinflammatory hypopigmentation – white marks
Who gets post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation?
It can occur in anyone but is more common in darker-skinned individuals, in whom the colour tends to be more intense and persist for a longer period than in lighter skin colours.
What causes the colour change?
When the skin gets inflamed from acne, immune cells are released into the skin layers that are trying to heal the acne. Unfortunately, these trigger more skin pigment (melanin) to be released, which goes into the surrounding skin cells (Keratinocytes) and makes the skin change colour.
What are the best treatments for dark acne spots?
* Hydroquinone
* Azelaic acid
* Cysteamine cream
* Vitamin C cream
* Tretinoin cream
* AHAs
* Glycolic acid peels
AHA's Dr Sam recommends:
Glytone Enhance Brightening Complex with Azelaic & Glycolic Acids: https://tinyurl.com/w7vekca
Alpha Skin Care Dual Action Skin Lightener: https://tinyurl.com/r2vnn2z

How To Use Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% Gel For Perfect Skin 😍
How to use Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% Gel for acne. In this video you will see how to apply Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% gel to get clear skin at home, and avoid the horrible side effects.
#howtousebenzoylperoxide #howtousebenzoylperoxidegel
Benzoyl Peroxide - How Does It Work?
* Benzoyl Peroxide is an antiseptic: it reduces the number of skin surface bacteria (but it does not cause bacterial resistance and in fact can reduce bacterial resistance. It also reduces the number of yeasts on the skin surface.
* Oxidizing agent: it softens and removes outer layers of skin to reduce comedomes
* Anti-inflammatory.
Which Type of Benzoyl Peroxide Should You Use?
Benzoyl peroxide comes in 3 main forms. It’s important to select the right one for your skin type, as well as preference.
1. Benzoyl Peroxide Facial Washes - great for acne on the trunk or to use in the shower
2. Benzoyl Peroxide Gel - works best if you have oily skin
3. Benzoyl Peroxide Cream - works if you have dry skin and is rapidly absorbed
Moreover, you need to choose the right concentration for your skin. The concentration that you choose will depend on your skin type and where you want to use it. When starting, always use 2.5% strength and increase it up depending on how you tolerate the product.
The face is quite sensitive, so choose a lower concentration 2.5% (upto 4%). The chest and back can usually tolerate a higher concentration.
Benzoyl Peroxide Side Effects:
It is normal in the first couple of weeks to feel skin tension, burning, stinging or itching sensation and a small amount of peeling or reddening. Most people have this, especially, when you first start using the product.
You can also minimize these side effects by starting with a lower concentration, 2.5% and reducing the number of times you apply Benzoyl peroxide to once every two days. Apply a non-oily moisturising product as often as needed to help soothe the skin.
Don’t use benzoyl peroxide if you have a sunburn.
Benzoyl peroxide is known for bleaching clothing and hair. Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after each use and avoid touching any clothing, towels or bed linen until the Benzoyl Peroxide is completely dry.
Please see a doctor immediately if you have severe swelling and breathing difficulties, as these may be signs of an allergic reaction. This is very rare with benzoyl peroxide use.
Products Dr Sam recommends:
*Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% (Benzac AC 25mg/g Acne Gel)
*Cetaphil Mild Gentle Cleanser 500ml
*Sunsense Sensitive Invisible SPF50+ 200g
