On Wednesday, the Chatham County Police Department announced investigators would be returning to the residence with a team that includes search K9s.

The incident was reported Monday at a park on Klamath Street. Police say the suspect threatened the 14-year-old victim with a weapon and forced the teen into a bathroom. Surveillance video showed the suspect walking down the street with his arm wrapped around the victim. Police say they received several tips from the public on Tuesday night, leading them to arrest Edward William Banks in the 2500 block of Mallory Street. He has been booked for aggravated kidnapping to commit rape, with bail set at $1 million.

Around 3:30 p.m., an 11-year-old girl was walking home from school when man came up behind her, put his hand on her mouth and pulled her into an alley in the 6200 block of South Indiana Avenue. The victim tells FOX 32 that she was dragged and stripped in an alley near her home. She said a man groped her from behind and began taking off his belt but then his phone rang. Chicago police are looking for a Black man around 45 to 60 years old and about 5'8 - 5'10. The offender has a thin build, graying hair, a mustache or goatee. He was wearing a black shirt with the right sleeve ripped, black jeans with a silver belt buckle and black work boots. The victim’s mother was outraged. #BREAKING #Florida #Kidnapping A Florida man is facing charges after kidnapping his 1-year-old child and using the baby as a human shield in an attempt to evade arrest, deputies said. According to a statement from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a child abduction in Palm Coast shortly after 6 p.m. on Sep. 27. Deputies learned that the mother’s boyfriend, 27-year-old Brandon Matthew Douglas Leohner, was armed with a gun and had taken his child. The sheriff’s office said Leohner was seen driving away with the child on his lap. Deputies spotted Leohner “driving recklessly through medians while speeding,” and when they attempted a traffic stop, Leohner fled. Leohner entered a McDonald’s parking lot and got out of his vehicle, holding the baby. Video released by the sheriff’s office shows Leohner standing in the McDonald’s drive-thru, with the baby in front of his chest, while deputies order him to put the child down. Leohner has his back against a wall as a deputy with a stun gun and a deputy with a K-9 partner corner him. The deputies deploy both the dog and the stun gun and Leohner falls to the ground, still holding the baby. A deputy takes the child away as it cries, “Dada.” “Here is a case of a domestic situation turning violent, putting a 1-year-old child and innocent drivers in danger,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said in a statement. “Deputies were confronted with a very chaotic situation and a very combative individual that was putting his child at risk by using the child as a shield. Our deputies did everything they could to quickly rescue this child safely from a madman and apprehend the suspect. Fortunately, the child was not hurt and was quickly reunited with his mother.” Leohner was arrested and charged with kidnapping, using a minor as a shield, resisting with violence, child neglect, fleeing and eluding, and reckless driving.

Police say Timothy Haslett Jr. has been charged by Clay County prosecutors with first-degree kidnapping, first degree rape and second degree assault. Friday morning Excelsior Springs police received a report about a woman going door-to-door screaming for help. The original call was that, she had a rope around her neck, according to police. Officers found the woman at a home near Old Orchard Street and Don Shelton Boulevard where she was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is helping the Excelsior Springs Police Department with the investigation. The woman told officers she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted. The woman said she was able to escape, but she may not have been the only woman there. Police say Timothy Haslett Jr. has been charged by Clay County prosecutors with first-degree kidnapping, first degree rape and second degree assault. Friday morning Excelsior Springs police received a report about a woman going door-to-door screaming for help. The original call was that, she had a rope around her neck, according to police. Officers found the woman at a home near Old Orchard Street and Don Shelton Boulevard where she was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is helping the Excelsior Springs Police Department with the investigation. The woman told officers she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted. The woman said she was able to escape, but she may not have been the only woman there.

A man accused of stabbing eight people on the Strip thought he was being ridiculed when he tried to take a photo with women dressed as showgirls, according to his arrest report. Yoni Barrios, 32, was arrested Thursday and appeared briefly in court Friday afternoon wearing orange restraints over his hands. He faces six counts of attempted murder and two counts of murder. Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said officials had not found a motive for the attacks. “We’re still looking into why a person would do this,” he said after Friday’s hearing. He said he did not know why Barrios had been placed in hand restraints, in addition to the wrist restraints typically used on inmates. Barrios is accused of fatally stabbing Las Vegas residents Maris DiGiovanni, 30, and Brent Hallett, 47, on Thursday morning on the 3100 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South. The Clark County coroner’s office ruled on Friday that DiGiovanni died from a stab wound to the chest and that Hallett died from a stab wound to the back, according to county spokesman Dan Kulin. DiGiovanni was among four women posing as showgirls, and Barrios asked to take a photo with them, according to the arrest report released Friday by the Metropolitan Police Department. Witnesses said he was wearing a chef’s long-sleeved white jacket and holding a large knife. He claimed he was selling knives. One showgirl told police she was uncomfortable with his proposal and backed away, but the man charged at her and stabbed her in the back as she ran from him. Witnesses said Barrios then stabbed DiGiovanni before running down the Strip and stabbing several more people, according to the arrest report. Two of the women, including one who was stabbed, ran into Wynn Las Vegas seeking help and waited for police there. A man who was stabbed told police that Barrios said “sorry man” before stabbing him in the back. Police said Barrios threw a 12-inch knife into bushes on the sidewalk while running but was detained by Las Vegas Sands Corp. security guards behind the Palazzo. Barrios, who had an address in Los Angeles, told police he arrived in Las Vegas a couple of days earlier to move in with a friend, but the friend told him he could not stay at the house. Barrios then packed his things and took a bus to the Strip. “Barrios stated that on the bus ride to the strip people were making fun of him and he wasn’t being treated like a human being,” officers wrote in the report. He told police he went into Wynn Las Vegas asking a janitor about jobs. “The security guard told Barrios to jump in front of a train,” detectives wrote in the arrest report. Barrios then went outside and met the women on the pedestrian bridge. “Barrios thought the women were laughing at him and making fun of his clothing,” the arrest report states. He told police that after attacking the women on the bridge, he started looking for groups of people on the Strip to harm so he could “let the anger out,” according to the report. Barrios said he wanted to make money to go home to Guatemala, but he was hoping officers would shoot him, according to the arrest report. The report describes Barrios as a native of Mexico. “My information is that he’s not a citizen of the United States,” Wolfson told reporters on Friday. Wolfson also said the defendant’s citizenship status would not affect how the case is prosecuted. Neither Wolfson nor the arrest report indicated whether Barrios was in the country legally. In response to a Las Vegas Review-Journal request to interview Barrios at the Clark County Detention Center, a Metro spokesperson wrote on Friday: “Due to his current housing, he will not be able to conduct any jail house interviews at this time.” An online fundraiser said the women worked for Best Showgirls in Vegas. Cheryl Lowthorp, owner of Best Showgirls, confirmed that three workers were wounded and DiGiovanni was killed.
