The Book of Thomas
Virtually a complete text. Post-resurrection dialogue between Jesus and Judas surnamed Thomas.
States Jesus true companion, brother Judas Thomas. Beloved Disciple. Directed at the ascetic, impure and lost masses. Seems to condemn anything flesh and sexuality.
Envices [reveal presence] metaphysical and ethical dualism. It does not shift to the myth o creation of the world through error but the dualism of body versus soul.
Fire of sexual passion versus tranquility of wisdom.
Post the dialogue with Thomas a long dialogue of Jesus alone.

Sethian (ancient Christian Gnostic sect) thought. Sent to an undisclosed recipient. Clarify who are the archons, world rulers. Similar to Jewish thought.
In the Fourth Tractate in Nag Hammadi Codices II

The text take the notion of evil very seriously. Gnostics bring urgency to the discussion.
Two Narratives 1) genesis gnostic 2) Norea speaking in the first person.
Samael – demiurge stating it is God.
Forethought and incorruptibility is Barbelo but is Source itself in expression.
Archons androgynous with animal faces. Norea (Orea) daughter of Eve. God has a plan and its will is to be realized.

Three mythological treatises and one story with hidden meaning of the soul. Circa 175-320Adin Syria.
The papyrus was in good condition. Title was at the end and potentially added later.
It is not actually a gospel. A collection of sayings and meditations belonging to different genres.
Sophia myth. Her eagerness to rejoin her spiritual companion, the Logos (divine reason). That is herself in her true nature. The Source. After creating without instruction. It is symbolic of what exists in the Universe.
When Eve was in Adam result no Death (Unity and Knowledge), When they separated result Death (ignorance). So with Humanity. A spiritual sense. If female not separated from male and male not from female.

The Nag Hammadi - The Gospel of Truth
The Gospel of Truth was just named by using the first words in the tractate to name the chapter. It is not the truth in itself. It discusses Jesus message to humanity. Further in the book discusses how the world came into existence from ignorance. The Eaons-Creators due to human anguish and terror took hold of the eons. Error produced and illusive basis for the world created solidified as fog.
Test suggests a different saviour who taught the eons about their origin. Jesus intention to do the same to humans. A back and forth discourse between the saviour and the eons.
