Grandma B's Dill Pickle Recipe: To Each Quart Add: 1/8 tsp Alum 1 Clove Garlic 1 TBSP Dill Seed 1 Whole Grape Leaf 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Brine: (8 Quarts) 1 QuartACV - Apple Cider Vinegar 3 Quarts Water 1 Cup Salt ( I use Sea Salt) 1. Cut cucumbers and raw pack as desired. 2. Add Your Seasonings to the Jar 3. Cover With Brine 1/2 Inch Headspace 4. Waterbath for 10 mins (Make sure water is 1 Inch over each jar lid) 5. Enjoy! I let them muddle together for a couple weeks before eating but that's up to you! Today I'm making up my started sweet pickle recipe. This one is an easy one to switch around and make your own. I hope you'll give it a try! 15 or so pickling cucumbers 1 onion 1-2 bell pepper Brine: 3 cups vinegar 1 cup Apple Cider Vinegar 2 TBSP Mustard Seed 1 tsp Celery Seed 1TBSP Tumeric 2 Cloves Garlic chopped 3-4 cups Sugar 1 tsp Peppercorns 1 tsp whole cloves 1. Slice Cucumbers 1/4 in thick. Thinly slice bell pepper and onion. 2. salt with 1 cup of sea salt and refridgerate 2-4 hours 3. drain and rinse veggies really well! 4. mix up your brine and simmer as you pack your jars. 5. dry pack your jars with veggies. pour over brine. 6. Follow normal waterbath measures and waterbath for 10 mins.
