Train Smart: Transverse Abdominis
This video is a supplement to the book Train Smart: Self-Coaching for Practical Shooting by Coach Kita Busse of #180firearmstraining
The transverse abdominis muscle wraps around your belly to your back like a corset. This creates stability in order to move. Strengthening this muscle allows it to carry more of the load for your back to help reduce back pain and prevent further injury. This muscle is important for explosive movement, because we can't move until it is engaged.

Episode 6: Movement with PCC vs. Pistol, 180 Firearms Training Podcast
PCC vs. Pistol
Coach Kita Busse, Grant Chancellor-Maddison, and Mike Seiffert discuss the differences in movement with a PCC vs. movement with a pistol. Is it harder to move with a pistol or a pistol caliber carbine? If you're bringing a rifle to a pistol competition, do you truly have an advantage?
Moving around obstacles and hard leans can be more challenging with a pistol caliber carbine to even the playing field for tough shots being easier than with a pistol. With a narrow shooting area, pistol shooters can keep their gun out of a port when PCC shooters have to move the gun into and out of the port. These are only a few of the many differences discussed on this episode of 180 Firearms Training Podcast!

Train Smart: Balance & Stability
This video is a supplement to the book Train Smart: Self-Coaching for Practical Shooting by Coach Kita Busse of 180 Firearms Training.
A stable platform is incredibly important in practical shooting. It helps reduce movement of your sights, making it easier to be accurate. It makes it easier to be stable in awkward positions. Sometimes we have to shoot from unstable platforms like a wobbly bridge. We also have to walk along balancing beams or planks of wood while shooting! Preventing falls by increasing your ability to balance is even more important when you are holding a firearm!
Thanks to Pixie and Sam Callahan for providing the videos, and to @Burn Boot Camp for letting us film there!
