This video focuses on the goodness and greatness of men. So often we are told the opposite, that there is something wrong with men. This hateful message masquerades as truth via far too many people who are too asleep to honor men's beauty, utility, goodness and greatness. The standard gynocentric lament about women's under- representation in top leadership roles is that this is due to discrimination. But there is scant evidence for this default claim. Gynocentrism 1.0 was a powerful harness that pushed men to provide and protect. It also pushed women to reproduce and care for the young. Both men and women were held in high esteem for their sacrifices as their actions were at times admired and respected. However, with the advent of Gynocentrism 2.0 that is no longer the case. A recent Bud Light Commercial attempts to promote the long refuted wage gap propaganda. In an obvious gynocentric bid to white knight Anheuser-Busch insults the men who are the primary consumers of its product. Avoid their products and try out a local brewery or micro brewery near you. Huge corporations such as this need to cease their anti-male attitudes and instead need to start helping men. So much that could be done including funding of research on suicide where men are 80% of completed suicides and no one knows why. Since 1965 fatherlessness has increased dramatically. As of 2010 black families were 53% fatherless, hispanic 31% and whites 20%. When the Moynihan report was written in 1965 it was predicted that 25% fatherlessness in the black community would decimate their families. Now our national average is 33%. Recent research has gone beyond the estimates of correlation and is now using the word "causative" around fatherlessness and some of the problems outlined in this video. That is unheard of in social science research. What are the culprits that have stimulated this increase? Who knows but I think a good guess would focus on the corrupt family court system, the misandrist government programs that only serve women and children and the nutty ideas of single parenthood being a good thing. You can look at feminism and the media for the last one. Please do add in the comments what you think is driving this. And don't forget, men are good! McClanahan is one of the most important researchers on this. This one is potent and talks about the causation of some problems due to fatherlessness. This is unheard of in social science research. Usually the best people can muster is to talk about correlation. Psychologist's assessment of the male sex role has missed a very critical element, gynocentrism. The title is intentionally provocative and meant to poke fun at the ways that research is being used to implicate men as the primary problem of domestic violence. Then again, the title is not that far from the truth. This video will have a look at the underbelly of one research study on domestic violence that created a good deal of headlines. Those headlines? They read over and over again that 1 in 5 men admitted to being violent in relationship. The video will take a look at how they got those numbers and also offer a glimpse of the story that they DIDN'T tell you. That story is that the data used for this study showed clearly that the women admitted to considerably more violence than the men. Have a look. AVFM has put on a great conference that has helped in so many ways. One of those ways was the amount of mainstream media coverage we received. Quite a bit. Much of this coverage was negative and I think this calls us to try and strategize a response to such negativity. Robert Lifton wrote a book about the communist Chinese attempts at brainwashing in the 1950's. It's a fascinating volume which offers us some basic ideas not only about brainwashing, but about the basics of intentional manipulation.
