Brides wear veils on their wedding day, there was a veil protecting the Israelites from God’s glory, and the minds of the unsaved are veiled from the truth of the gospel. Just as the groom lifts the veil on his bride and God tore the veil blocking the Holy of Holies; so only Jesus, the Christian’s groom, can lift the veil on the mind of the non-believer.

When we live for the future we choose things that are good for us in the long term. We buy healthy food instead of junk food, exercise instead of laying on the couch, and live as though our prophesies are certain though they may be a long way off.

We are not to act in spite or with mockery, but in love and blessing. Even sinners practice quid pro quo. Christians are called to the highest standard, God’s standard. He is full of love and mercy for the wicked, and if we emulate this, we will be fully backed by Him.

It’s Christians meeting together for the common good of the group. While we can receive some good from meeting through the internet, meeting face to face is far better for us. We are one body, and the parts of that body function best when they’re in close contact.
