Episode 30. Full. Guest With Opposing Views! Repurposed Drugs
This episode has a guest. We invited someone who doesn't agree with our assessment of repurposed drugs and their efficacy. It was a good respectful conversation. This will be continued after we do homework on the sources brought forward by either side. I'd love to see these kind of conversations become more mainstream even as we still remain apart on our views.
Episode 25 Full. Texas Abortion Bill. A Debate. Racist JEDI? Non-random Probabilities
Even though this one is shorter and focused we have three main parts. Both our good and bad about the structure and function of the abortion bill. Obviously we still have the same differences with the subject of the bill so we focus today on debating the issue of the enforcement mechanism.
Racist JEDI? Lots of face palming with this one. It does allow us to revisit the "mystical" aspects of the social justice movement. Give it a listen. I wish we were making this stuff up.
We finish with a different way of looking at the numbers. Not in terms of fancy models that tell the story we want, but in eliminating the notion that the exceptions, outliers, adverse effects etc., are random. You don't spin a wheel or scratch a lotto when taking medication when considering side effects. Those probability numbers (mostly) represent that portion of the population prone to the effect.

Episode 28 Full. Genetics and Collective vs Individualism? And Drugs That Shall Not be Named.
This one we start with a little of biologically based philosophy. How much do we account for the ancestral tendencies of collectivism vs individuality. There are reasons certain places in the world tend towards, and succeed as either one. And what is the United States? Yes.....
Then we switch to the subject of different voices in the treatment of certain relevant diseases. What are Ad Hominin attacks vs what might be legit criticism. This includes a review of two separate and opposing meta- analysis on a certain drug in the headlines.

Episode 23 Bonus content. Systemically Racist Fat Cells!
We had an extra few minutes after filming episode 23 so Heath wanted to see if he could throw a health related curveball at me. I didn't expect the question but it's actually something that I've thought long and hard on doing lots of research. I think we'll expand this talk as I have similar thoughts with regard to other systematic patterns we see in today's landscape.

Episode 29 Full. Football Injuries. Rogan/ Gupta Review.
We start with discussion of Saquan Barkley's ankle injury (We show it so be warned). Then we talk strength training for recovery and prevention.
We segue to more talk on the pandemic. Specifically a review of the Rogan interview of Dr. Gupta. I try to fill in some information gaps that could build a bridge between their arguments.

Episode 26 Full. Secondary Effects, Corrupt Agencies, And Watt's Groin
Midnight random thoughts led down a rabbit hole of comparing mortality rates of Covid to other mortality markers related to the response in children. The numbers were worse than I thought they would be and I only got to one cause, suicide. The US data was not very readily accessible so I had to look around the globe. This leads to topic two, activist government agencies.
This is a quick segment. Some examples of the CDC and BJS playing with predictive models to publish material that can be cited by activist "scholars." Then it's about the FBI. From the Whitmer case, to U.S. gymnastics coverup, to the current raid on the NYPD union.
Last we talk a little about sports injury. We cover why they occur, warning signs and prevention.

Episode 24. Full. 9/11. Ouch My Pec! And Covid and Children.
We start this with some thoughts on the after effects of 9/11 on the social and political environment. How it still effects us today and what's rearing it's head around current "threats" to the nation.
Next we talk about Sam's recent injury in the gym. Not only just to talk about what happened, but to illustrate two key points for long term training. The first is what I did wrong. Taking a deeper look into the programming and the events leading up to the event. The second is why now is not the time to "just rest."
Last, we talk more Covid and the messaging around it. It starts with kids and goes onto treatment.

Episode 22 full. Afghanistan and Covid tribalism.
We start with the Afghan withdrawal. History rhymes. Heath takes us through the details of similar situations throughout US history. I think we're both in agreement here that we should have left but not like that.
Next we get back to the Covid talk. This time we center it around how we treat each other based on the issue. It's been very disheartening watching and conversing with, otherwise reasonable, people that have picked a righteous side.

Episode 23 Full. The Same but Different
We were going to take a break from Covid talk but my spidey sense was tingling with the recent FDA approval of "Pfizer." Turns out, it is but it isn't. The same but it's not. I'm curious how this gets flagged (cause it will) since I really just read from the FDA fact sheets linked below.
Comernity approval sheet.

This post is neither pro or anti vaccine. It's pro truth and anti deception surrounding the issue. The thumbnail meme is the last part of the conversation and represents the lack of priorities by those who are supposed to be representing public health.

Episode 21 Full. Fact Checking the CDC and CRT memes. Verdict... Misleading
We start with a recap of our discussion on natural vs. injected immunity to the virus. Adding to the discussion from last time is the data from Israel on reinfection rates. Previously infected individuals still hold strong with a robust immune response and, per the data, better than the other available options.
Enter the CDC. New study shows benefit to getting the shot in addition to the protection from natural immunity. Sam's point here is that the benefit (2.32 times) is actually very small. It's benefit within the difference between existing protection and 100%. Add to that, go to the discussions to see all the reasons the number is most possibly an overstatement.
Last we bring forward some circulating CRT in schools memes. The frustrating part of all this is the dishonesty. CRT is not teaching black history. CRT is about systemic power structures that prop up the majority "race".
Social Distillation fact check team have determined the CDC and the CRT supporters as misleading.

Episode 19 Pt1. Debates abound. Simone Biles and Sexy time (2 seperate debates)
Two topics where we are in opposition. We start with Simone Biles removing herself from the olympics and then we transition to sexuality and monogamy/polyamory.
Sam takes a pro-Simone and mental health stance, while Heath takes the position of the overall message of perseverance. As usual, the answer is probably a bit of both. Where we come together is a different message that needs to follow. Definitely not "treat yo self" and also not "suck it up buttercup."
Topic two is sexuality and how we should engage the topic in the current social environment. This might be the biggest distance in opinion between the two of us. Heath believes in the benefits of societal constraints where Sam believes in openness and honesty as the building blocks for virtue. Again, we know it's both and we want this to be a discussable topic.

Episode 18 Full. Black National Anthem? Intellectual Dishonesty
We rehash some topics from the last long episode and were much more precise and time sensitive in our discussion. If there's anything that you feel needs more depth, then consult that last one and you'll probably get the long winded version.
Heath brings up the NFL and the "Black National Anthem," and how it's counter to our theme of why can't we be more united. For a different take, I expose the activism behind it and how the conservative argument only plays into the hands of activists.
We end by going through a live case study of my method for calculating macronutrients for a healthy diet.

Episode 17 Full. Nutrition, Food, Baseball, and Division
This one goes on so I'll be clipping it up.
We start talking nutrition and break down how I approach the subject. Cliff notes, I work from the bottom up and stress tracking to learn yourself.
The second half kind of flows from food history, to baseball and racial progress, and some resulting political discussion.
Episode 20 Full. Phat Phobia? Health and some more Sexy Time with Sam.
Starting with the news of the day. The death of 600lb reality star. It's not fat shaming to talk about obesity and health. It has nothing to do with aesthetics to have that conversation. We take it a step further with some recommendations on how to more safely start if you are in that situation and would like to change it.
Next we pivot to some more thoughts on evolution of man and culture with regard to relationships. Sam sticks to some social hiccups with the idea of monogamy and pair bonding. As usual, the disconnect is associated with our disconnect from how we evolved to modern comforts of society. It derailed for a minute but the purpose here was to bring awareness of things that are subconcious that could be nudging you from the relationship ideal. Then you can be more likely to combat these feelings.

Episode 19 Pt2. Vaccine mandates. Watch it while you can.
It's part of episode 19 but we recorded and uploaded separately because of the subject matter. I start with news on the long haul effects on the brain from Covid. Then we talk the numbers on previously infected vs. vaccinated. Then the numbers surrounding vaccination of previously infected vs not. I'll link all my tabs below and please consult your doctor but also challenge your doctor to back up their own statements. It's time for some balls surrounding this conversation.

Episode 16 Full. Another hour about abortion. A debate.
We spend another hour on abortion. I'm glad we took a couple days break cause I got to do some deep thinking and slightly adjusted my stance. I hope these last two episodes provide a great example of what we've been talking about all along. Two people with very different viewpoints can have a meaningful polite discourse on even this hot button issue.

Episode 15 Full. All About Abortion. A debate
We actually debate a little here. Due to recent state legislations we thought we'd touch one of the political third rails... Because we're both numb from the brain down. Abortion. Our views on the current legislation and on the debate as a whole. The only thing we fully agree on I think here is that this needs to be settled and put to bed.

Episode 14 Full. More Fitness guidance and CRT analogy with physical and mental health.
The full episode is pretty long so this one will be clipped as well. We start with some more discussion about pitfalls of gym life and guidance to avoid them. It's good with our completely different day to day experience and then merging it with relevant physiology and biomechanics.
First part we talk gym life. Good discussion on proper use of machines and how they can create issues, even when they are well designed. But also, I push back some and give some good uses for those same modalities.
Second part we transition to mental state. This might have overlap with the clips cause it actually did segue really well from fitness to sociology. It's another segment into my hypothesis on how political/social ideologies manifest in our mental and physical state. I make an analogy of a congenital heart condition and the psychological state it puts the individual in with a relatively harmless condition in heartburn. They feel similar but in nature are completely different with completely different consequences. Watch for more details.

Episode 13. Statistical manipulation and "Science"
This is a good one. We break down some covid numbers to illustrate how entities will manipulate data to push an agenda. I break down how age adjusted mortality data is properly and improperly used in measuring mortality data. Heath helps me speak English when I get off track. Then on a related note we break down a paper released by MIT about how the same data sets can be used to tell completely opposite stories.
I think this helps clear up how important different voices are in this great debate as well as the importance of freedom of information.

Episode 12. Appropriately Really Difficult. Training thoughts
More thoughts on physical fitness and how to evaluate your trainer. We cover initial impressions and trial sessions. I (Sam) had a total brain fart and repeated a point Heath had just made early on, so I apologize for that. Second we cover absolutes in the gym and the term "it depends." I hope y'all enjoy and get some good info from this one.

Episode 2 Full. Social Justice Camps and Philosophy
We actually have video and audio at the same time! We're getting better at this. I told y'all I've been studying.
This is actually part one of defining the philosophy behind the craziness in the media, academic, and political scenes. In part two we'll dive a little deeper with more examples of how this is manifesting in the U.S. as well as the strategies used to mislead and manipulate the public. If it's confusing so far that's ok. We're trying to simplify a very complex and misleading ideology.
Here's the link to the Time magazine article as promised. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Famp%2Fs%2Ftime.com%2F5936036%2Fsecret-2020-election-campaign%2F%253famp%3Dtrue%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR2M1WxQm_ngHMnW0xqeaqj6lmViGu2IoSg6jSaempkRIfhguJ7XH1Lfxfw&h=AT0xm72olwhe0NTl4Hnhlj8jc-NJ2OquegfiXkUjMZ-Pcs9XEcXve8BeUorEq7XkAs_JMurOC0C_XRgqAl1KwJyZ0Xcq10NMN7tDSFCAdLGBI7Y-oFzQfT0hTeQIV1B2Ug

Episode 3 Full. Experts, Cults, and Kendi
In episode 3 we lay out Sam's position on the social justice movement vs actual equality process. We start with a refresher the 4 stages of support.
1. Those endoctrinated by critical theories
2. Those who aren't but still think X problem is rampant in our society
3. Those who aren't, don't think it's rampant but it exists and it's still a good cause.
4. None of those but don't want to rock the boat or are scared
We talk about cults and methods for drawing an audience. Next we dive into a little bit of why we think it actually helps create the problem it claims to solve.
And last, a little bit on one of the leaders of the movement. Kendi and Sam's evaluation from reading his material.

episode 10 full. Free fitness consult then some Doom and Gloom
This is two parts. First, I walk Heath through some training questions to adjust the program. Then we talk some general principles and tease some nutrition info. Second, we lay out some societal trends and how they can create an environment that increases the probability of bad actors doing bad things.
In the first part we get a good real world example of the concept of volume load. When evaluating programs when it comes to injury, we always have to look at dose response. Some is good, but more is not necessarily better.
In the second part, we're back to the culture war with a very important message. Bad people will do bad things. You can't make no bad people happen so you have to create an environment that doesn't allow them to strive. I paint a picture of things existing empirically in our society today that create an environment that can be gamed. But more importantly, bunch of things we can do something about if we get ahead of it.
