Life of David: David’s Core Reality: Identity in Intimacy and Meekness
Life of David: David’s Core Reality: Identity in Intimacy and Meekness
Notes: https://rb.gy/xoxjzt
David is the model of the anointed Church that operates in power through worship and intercession that comes from those who walk out lifestyles of radical love and obedience towards Jesus. The foundation of David’s ministry was his revelation of the governmental impact of prophetic intercessory worship (Ps. 22:3). This is God’s most powerful weapon in shifting government in the spirit and transforming the earth now and in the Millennial Kingdom (Ps. 149:6-9; Rev. 4-5). This is called the beauty of holiness or the Tabernacle of David.
Our identity is the way we define ourselves or how we determine our value or measure our success. This is one of the most important issues of life. If established in a biblical way, then we have Holy Spirit power on our hearts even in difficulty. If established wrongly, then our lives are filled with strife even with prosperity. David has a radical different paradigm in the way he
established his identity or sense of value or importance and how he measure his success.

Session 13: The Certainty of Persecution in the West & Its Blessing
Session 13: The Certainty of Persecution in the West & Its Blessing
Notes: https://rb.gy/gbkmec
Persecution is both a demonic attack to hinder our spiritual growth and a divine gift to enhance it. God granted and appointed that His people endure persecution (1 Thes. 3:3; Phil. 1:29) that they may be transformed by it for their great benefit in this age and in the age to come. We do not make persecution happen to us in the will of God—it is granted as a divine opportunity that we don’t have unless God grants it to us. The apostles rejoiced in being “counted worthy” to suffer knowing how it transformed them and how precious it is to have it in their testimony when they stand before God.
For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ…to suffer for His sake… (Phil. 1:29)
…[to not be] shaken by these afflictions…know that we are appointed to this. (1 Thes. 3:3)
They departed…rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer…for His name. (Acts 5:41)
There is a tension in rejoicing when God grants persecution to us as a gift (Acts 5:41; 2 Cor. 12:7- 12; Phil. 1:29; 3:10; Col. 1:24; 1 Thes. 3:3; 1 Pet. 2:21) while being exhorted to pray for protection and deliverance from prison (Acts 12:5) or from the evil one (Jn. 17:15; Phil. 1:19, 25; 2 Thes. 3:3).

Jesus prophesied that the world would hate His disciples for three reasons (Jn. 15:18-25). First, because the world hated and persecuted Jesus (15:18, 20); second, because His disciples are no longer “of this world” (15:18); and third, because they do not know God (15:21).
“If the world hates you…know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19If you were of the world, the world would love its own [those who agree with them]. Yet because you are not of the world… therefore the world hates you…20If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you…21But all
these things they will do to you…because they do not know Him who sent Me…” (Jn. 15:18-21)
The world hated Me before it hated you: Jesus assured them that the people of the world would hate them because of their hated for Him, and what He said (7:7), and that because they persecuted Him, they would surely persecute (15:20) any who were faithful to say what He said.
7“The world…hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil. (Jn. 7:7)

Session 12: The Holy Spirit's Role (Stuart Greaves)

Jesus prophesied that there is coming a time of great pressure on the earth. In those days many will
be gripped with four predominant negative emotions due to a disconnect with Jesus through prayer
(Mt. 26:41) and a disconnect (Rom. 11:25) from the plan and storyline of heaven—the gospel.
The Spirit calls the Church to her inheritance of experiencing God’s love in the context of engaging with the Trinity in fellowship. It is our privilege (glory) and destiny to participate in this fellowship.
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them…Father, I desire that they…Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me… (Jn. 17:22, 24)
Jesus warned the end-time generation about the rise of negative emotions which can be summed as “the love of many growing cold.” We are, however, called to live in and experience the fire of God’s love as the only safe place to be. The eternal fellowship of the Trinity is this place of fire.
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. (Matt. 24:12)

In John 13-17, one of Jesus’ aims is to equip the heart to stay steady under pressure. Jesus exhorted the disciples two days earlier that the church was to not be troubled in light of unfolding global eschatological pressures that point towards the end of the age drawing near.
“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” (Mt. 24:5-6)
A troubled heart weighed down with worry and anxiety is a serious matter. It hinders the growth of joy and peace in our hearts. Worry preoccupies us with managing our emotions, making it difficult
to step out of our feelings and narratives to fully love others in truth.

Session 13: Found Worthy to Suffer For Jesus: the Spirit of Glory
Notes: https://tinyurl.com/jh7b833p
THE WORLD HATES BELIEVERS WHO ARE FAITHFUL TO SAY WHAT JESUS SAYS
Jesus elaborated on the inevitability and reason why the world hates His disciples (15:18-16:4) Jesus set His command to love one another in context to being hated for His sake (15:17-18).
“…love one another. If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. …because you are not of the world…the world hates you.…If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you…21These things they will do to you for My name’s sake…” (Jn. 15:17-21)
Jesus used the word, “hate,” 8 times in 15:18-25. This hatred will lead to more than being censored or passed over in a job promotion, etc. We feel violated when someone hates us; we never get used to being hated. John prepared others in part by urging them to anticipate being hated (1 Jn. 3:13). Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.
John 15 is the “intimacy with God” chapter (15:1-17). Intimacy with God is essential to being empowered to walk in joy when hated (15:18-25). Jesus intentionally connected these themes.

Session 8: Loving Jesus By Loving One Another
Session 8: Loving Jesus By Loving One Another
Notes: https://tinyurl.com/34j96esp
The foundational premise in this teaching series is that God loves us with the same intensity that God loves God (Jn. 15:9; 17:23). This quality of love is foundational to life in God’s kingdom.
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” (Jn. 15:9)
The love in God’s heart has at least 5 expressions that are deeply interrelated.
1. God’s love for God: Each person in the Trinity intensely loves the others with all their heart.
2. God’s love for His people: He loves His people with all of His heart, mind, and strength.
3. Our love for God: God’s very own love is imparted to His people by the Spirit (Jn. 17:26).
4. Our love for ourselves: We love ourselves in God’s love and for God’s sake.
5. Our love for others: We love others in the overflow of experiencing God’s love (1 Jn. 4:19).

Session 7: Loving Ourselves in the Love of God
Notes: https://tinyurl.com/548akvn6
The love burning in God’s heart has at least 5 expressions that are deeply interrelated. Each of these expressions represent the 5 stages of how a believer can grow in love. We seek to understand and walk in all 5 stages simultaneously since they are revealed and imparted to us by the Spirit.
1. God’s love for God: Each person in the Trinity intensely loves the others with all their heart.
2. God’s love for His people: He loves His people with all of His heart, mind, and strength.
3. Our love for God: God’s very own love is imparted to His people by the Spirit (Rom. 5:5).
4. Our love for ourselves: We love ourselves in God’s love and for God’s sake.
5. Our love for others: We love others in the overflow of experiencing God’s love (1 Jn. 4:19).
Stage 1 is to receive increased understanding of the perfect love that is found in the relationships within the Trinity. The Son loves the Father (Jn. 14:31), and the Father loves the Son (Jn. 3:35; 5:20; 15:9; 17:23). We best understand God’s love as we consider the Trinity. Why? The way that
God loves within the Trinity is the only way that He loves us—He always loves in fullness.
Stage 2 is to receive increased understanding of the love that God has for us (Eph. 1:17; 3:18-19).
Stage 3 is to receive an increased impartation of love for Jesus. Jesus prayed that the Father’s love would be imparted to us (Jn. 17:26). The Lord created us to love Him in 4 spheres of our life— our heart (affections and desires), soul (identity), mind (intellect), and strength (resources).
26“…that the love with which You [the Father] loved Me may be in them…” (Jn. 17:26)

Session 11: The Glory and Responsibility of Being Chosen By God
NOTES: https://tinyurl.com/mtrrdxwm
Immediately after speaking on friendship with God, Jesus assured them that it was not their idea but a glorious privilege that began in God’s heart that He will bring to completion (Phil. 1:6).
15“…I have called you friends…16You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain [be rewarded in eternity], that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17These things I command you, that you love one another. 18If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me… (Jn. 15:15-18)
I chose you and appointed you: Jesus wanted them to be clear that He took the initiative in their relationship with Him (Jn. 1:39, 42-43; 6:70). This is important because of the fear that they were about to face that night (14:1), and at this time, Peter, and probably others, trusted their commitment to Jesus more than His commitment to them (Mt. 26:33). This divine choosing is for every believer.
33Peter [said], “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
(Mt. 26:33)

Session 10: Bearing Fruit that God calls Beautiful
NOTES: https://tinyurl.com/4sx3ybda
Immediately after speaking on friendship with God, Jesus assured them that it was not their idea but a glorious privilege that began in God’s heart. Earlier, in 15:1-8, Jesus spoke on abiding in Him that would result in the miracle of bearing fruit that “remains”—or that He esteems and rewards forever.
God esteeming our fruitfulness is what defines our true success and/or being great in His sight.
“I have called you friends…16You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you thatyou should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
17These things I command you, that you love one another.”
(Jn. 15:15-17)
We bear fruit inwardly in godly character and outwardly in our ministry and service to others. Fruitfulness is about possessing love (humility, purity, generosity, etc.) and inspiring it in others.
Jesus connected the Father’s promise to give us “whatever we ask” for in prayer (15:16) to the Spirit empowering us to bear spiritual fruit that is best expressed as we love one another (15:17). Immediately after speaking about the Father answering prayer, He focused them on praying to grow
in grace to love one another (15:17). This is similar to what He said earlier, when He connected His promise to answer their prayer (14:14) to the Spirit empowering them to love Him more (14:15-16).

Session 9 Friendship with God: The Reward of Love
Notes: https://tinyurl.com/369aummm
Friendship with God is glorious, yet it is rare and costly. Jesus is talking about something rare and very special that is available to all believers. The highest reward of love is found in possessing the ability to love more in a deeper friendship. It is the reward of wholeheartedness.
"You are My friends if you do whatever I command you…15 but I have called you friends…”
Jn. 15 : 14-15
Jesus did not teach that every believer is a friend of God. This is clear by the warnings that He gave 5 of churches in Revelation 2-3 (Ephesus, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Laodicea).

Session 3: The First Commandment and the Book of Revelation
Notes: SHORTURL.AT/UZV69
A. The life of David is one of the most dynamic stories in the Bible. He is known as the man after God’s heart. He began as a lonely child from a poor family who lived in a small town. His story is of a young man who was nobody in man’s eyes, who learned he was a “somebody” in God's.
14 The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart… (1 Sam. 13:14)
The Lord sought for David and is still seeking for those with a heart like David. The eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. (2 Chr. 16:9)
True worshipers...for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. (Jn. 4:23)
Being a person after God’s heart means to commit to obey the commands of God's heart, to study the emotions of God's heart, and to contend for the purposes of God's heart.

Session 1: Loving God The First and Great Commandment
Notes: shorturl.at/dxI68
Jesus’ statement in Matthew 22:37-38 is one of the most significant statements in Scripture. It is God’s mission statement for the human race and, thus, the most reliable measurement of success at the judgment seat of Christ. It has many implications—it reveals God’s personality, our value, how we function, our destiny, and how we should view and value others (since God loves them deeply). “‘You shall love the Lord…with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.” (Mt. 22:37-38)
The first commandment does not start with us, but with God who loves us with all His heart and in the same intensity that He loves inside the fellowship of the Trinity. This is a most dynamic truth or which we say, “Thank You,” and ask the Spirit to reveal more of God’s love for us and to impart more love for God in us. To “abide in love” is to continually realign our heart to His love.
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” (Jn. 15:9)

Session 5: Friendship with God: Glorious, Rare, & Costly
Session 5: Friendship with God: Glorious, Rare, & Costly
Notes: shorturl.at/cG068
Jesus identified laying down one’s life for another as the greatest expression of love (Jn. 15:13). Jesus’ love for us was publicly manifested by laying down His life for us on the cross to satisfy God’s justice (Rom. 3:26), to demonstrate that He desired that His Bride be with Him (Jn. 17:24), and to model the extravagant love that the Church would display for Him and for others at times throughout history and in an unprecedented way on a global scale in the final 3½ years of this age.
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from
My Father I have made known to you.” (Jn. 15:13-15)
Jesus told them they would be His friends if they obeyed what He had just taught them (15:13-14).
The end-time Church will love people extravagantly as Jesus did. The most extravagant kind of love
is described in 15:13. The most convincing evidence of love is that love makes sacrifices for others.
The issue of bloodshed magnifies the reality of love to others and awakens heroic love in many.

The Lord desires that His people walk in humility that is expressed in many ways such as having a servant spirit, refusing to draw undo attention to ourselves, trusting the Lord to vindicate us when we are mistreated or falsely accused, bearing reproach for standing for the truth, etc.
The Spirit releases power to exalt Jesus and not to draw attention to those that He uses (Jn. 16:14).

Session 8: The Blueprint Prophecy and the Black Horse
Notes: shorturl.at/BFTX8
On Monday, March 26, a prophetic man unknown to our team drove four hours to Kansas City from central Kansas to give me a prophetic word that was five pages long. He did not call us in advance, so we were not expecting his visit. No one was in the church office when he arrived, so he left it in an envelope marked, “Confidential, for Mike Bickle’s eyes only.” Soon after he left, I arrived at the office and immediately read the prophecy. Then Bob Jones called me to ask if I had received the “Lord’s blueprints” for the youth movement. He said this was a historic day.
In the cover letter this unknown prophetic man explained that the Holy Spirit had given him blueprints for our movement. This prophecy included the 24/7 house of prayer, the forerunner message in the spirit of John the Baptist, message of the Bride of Christ, the Joseph Company, etc.
These were ideas that were not yet emphasized in our midst.

Session 7: Hephzibah, God’s Beauty, and Jesus in Red
Notes: shorturl.at/BNQ59
In July 1988, while in my office reading a wedding card with Song 8:6 on it, I began to pray, “Jesus, seal my heart with Your seal of love.” I began to weep. I asked the receptionist to hold all my calls. Ten minutes later, the receptionist called and said, “Bob Jones is on the phone. He heard the audible voice of God for you.” At that moment, I was on my knees weeping over the Song 8:6.
Set Me [Jesus] as a seal upon your heart…for love is as strong as death, [God’s] jealousy as cruel [demanding] as the grave; its flames are flames of fire… (Song 8:6)
Bob Jones called to tell me at that the Lord had just spoken audibly to Him promising to release grace across the Body of Christ worldwide to walk in Song 8:6-7 and that for the rest of my ministry I was to focus on this theme—the first commandment. The month prior, in June 1988, we connected with John Wimber, who emphasized worship that was focused on intimacy with God.
