Poverty has been finely engineered. It is important to think about getting out of the overwhelming dependence on a few dozen domesticated foods. Fasting is a way to become more aware of what is ours and what is not. The dominant agricultural system is constantly artificializing nature, undermining biological processes and the capacity of ecosystems to generate bio-abundance. Growing weak annual plants that require a lot of dedication is encouraged. All home gardens represent large areas of land where we are having an influence.
