We visit Cross Bayou Barge Canal in Pinellas Park Florida, where in 1915-1917 a canal was dredged across primitive Pinellas County from Boca Ciega Bay to Tampa Bay, for barge traffic and later, marine recreation. We share some articles about the canal in the first segment, then do a pair of flyovers, one higher, then one showing more details, from Southwest to Northeast. We upgrade the battery and add a battery box with a big 31 size battery and heavy duty power cables with wire loom wrap. We also install 2 extra rod holders, using a holesaw to make a place on each side easily and quickly. Its a SunDolphin Plastic canoe that takes so much (ab)use, it deserves a little TLC. We use a Newport Vessels 55lb short shaft trolling motor, top speed about 4-5mph on High. We document our Engine Swap of a daily driver 1998 Trans Am, which hydrolocked after a massive rainstorm. We replace the LS-1 with a 500 Horsepower Cammed 383 LS Stroker, showing the "swap the engine from underneath" process and the final result along with a 3-4th gear pull test drive, and 15 Roll from 1st Gear after the Break In Period is complete. We head out in between fogbanks on a warm winter Florida day, and find multiple species, Jack Crevalle, Sheephead, Snook, and more...theyre a bit timid but willing to bite!

We take a trip 2 hours after the passing of a cold front, expecting to have a hard time finding fish, let alone catching them, and although we dont catch any river monsters, we do catch a nice variety of snapper, snook, juvenile redfish, catfish and Jack Crevalle. A beautiful Florida winter sunset shows up at the end. Enjoy!

Quick Bass action from two trips to local lakes, we catch some nice Florida bass in beautiful Taylor lake and Walsingham lake, both in Largo which are actually connected by a series of ditches, canals, and weirs. Enjoy!

Two huge stingrays come to fight, and promptly kick my arse... in Clearwater Pass they grow em big. enjoy!

We take a trip through the beautiful Weedon Island Mangrove Tunnels, and all around the water around the park which is in St Petersburg, Florida

we look to find some juvenile snook after the severe red tide at Cross bayou, and in the usual spot, we catch six and have dozens of lure strikes within a half hour, this is a good sign that red tide is past us, and the juvenile snook are always a good sign of a healthy fish population in these brackish backwaters in West Central Florida

we trip to Walsingham park in Largo Florida to check out the layout and throw a few worms, a couple bass show up and we get a feel for a place we will definitely be back to prepared to fish! enjoy!

we fish from the sandbar at Cross bayou, catch a bunch of ladyfish and others, while a meathead in a jonboat misses us by fifty feet and then nearly buries his boat in a mangrove island on his way back out.
