Because there were no major hurricane impacts in South Carolina this year, Ed Piotrowski (and his people) threw the world’s largest pizza party…the Pizza Palooza! (Unfortunately, I don’t think the Guinness Book of World Records people showed up, but over 3,000 people attended, which is quite a bit larger than the current record for largest pizza party!) The event was held at Pelican’s Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and lots of local and chain pizza places donated pizza. They collected canned goods and toys for Tots for Tots. Santa was sitting at home plate, and there were other characters (Anna, Elsa, Olaf, a penguin, and a pelican) to meet. The pizza was delicious, and the band (100 Grand Band) was great! Jim Cantore did a Q & A session before he had to get back to doing his job for the Weather Channel. Cheraw, South Carolina had their downtown Christmas parade! Enjoy honking fire trucks, marching bands, and kids flipping and waving in the rain! Watch vehicles drive the wrong way through the parade route with no malicious intent! Although it was a lovely time, be glad you’re watching from the comfort of your home/car/restaurant/etc. instead of outside in the cold mist and rain! Roam with us to this small southern town to see all the activities of ChristmasFest (along with some different views of the lantern parade)! We made an attempt to see the Royal Hanneford Circus in Florence, South Carolina. (We succeeded!) There were amazing acts: dancing dogs, handstands on stacked chairs, quick-changes, trapeze artists, and the Globe of Death! We were interviewed for the news (we made it!) and Emmy was chosen to be the junior ringmaster! These artists are impressive and inspiring.
