The narrative of the "sovereign people" - the idea that "the people" somehow confer their collective power and authority on a central government to rule on their behalf - is a harmful ideological construct that serves to legitimate fundamentally oligarchic structures of power and to disempower communities, whose governmental authority is subordinated to the prerogatives of a national government. Twitter has behaved as a bully toward me and other dissenting voices it has sought to silence with no explanation of its actions other than vague charges of “misinformation,” while giving a free pass to people who tweet out patently disingenuous and misleading Tweets, so long as they reinforce the dominant, Twitter-approved narrative. But we will not be silenced. And you know why? Because we are not in this for money, or prestige, or social acceptance.
