The other 12 otter species were recently identified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as having decreasing populations, and five otter species are already on the endangered list. Among the endangered are the sea otters along the Californian to Alaskan coasts, which are threatened by "environmental pollutants and disease agents." Others, like the marine otters of South America, have had their numbers reduced because of poaching, as well as environmental concerns. This ancient religion considered otters to be the dogs of the river or sea and had strict rules forbidding the killing of otters. It was thought that otters helped keep water purified by eating already dead creatures that might contaminate the water source if they were allowed to rot. Spraint composition is unique to each otter, and the creatures can identify each other by the smells. Scientists suspect otters may even be able to determine the sex, age, and reproductive status of the spraint dropper just from a quick whiff. And since otters have superb metabolisms and can easily eat up to 15 percent of their body weight each day, there's a lot of spraint to go around. In 2001, a female otter at the Monterey Bay Aquarium gave birth to a stillborn pup on the same day a stranded pup was discovered in the wild nearby. The aquarium staff had previously tried raising pups themselves but found that hand-raised otters became too attached to humans to be released back into the wild. So instead, they dropped the pup in with the female otter, and she immediately went into mom mode. The aquarium has since devised a system of hand-rearing pups for the first six to eight weeks—mostly for bottle feeding purposes—before handing the pups off to female otters for raising. At six months, the pups are released back into the wild with generally strong results. Otters can have up to one million hairs per square inch. There are two layers of fur—an undercoat and then longer hairs that we can see. The layers manage to trap air next to the otter's skin, which keeps the otters dry and warm and also helps with buoyancy. As such, each residential and commercial facility throughout the country will possess large amounts of cardboard. Given its widespread use in packaging products, cardboard waste is a major component of all garbage collection in Adelaide and elsewhere. In many cases, cardboard packages can be bulky and large in size. So, it’s easy to see that cardboard waste will consume large amounts of space. If dumped at the landfill, this consumption of space could be quite excessive. As a result, it could fill up the landfill very rapidly. In addition, as cardboard decomposes, it releases large amounts of methane. According to Planet Ark, methane has a global warming capacity that is 21 times more powerful than carbon dioxide. This is why it’s important to recycle cardboard waste as much as possible. Cardboard is among the easiest and most environmentally effective materials for recycling. This is especially so because most varieties of cardboard typically comprise processed fibres. Therefore, when you recycle cardboard waste, you end up saving ample amounts of water and energy. In addition, you minimise the felling of trees for deriving virgin material as well. Estimates from Planet Ark suggest that manufacturing from recycled material yields up to 90 percent less by-products such as chemical wastes. Waste removal companies throughout Adelaide and elsewhere typically collect waste from various residential and commercial establishments. Thereafter, they segregate this waste into various categories. Then, they deposit all waste with recyclable value (such as cardboard) at a government-approved recycling depot. The workers at these depots usually remove all plastic and Styrofoam from the cardboard. The Cardboard is then baled and shipped to the recycling plant. At the start of the recycling process at the recycling plant, the workers soak the cardboard in water. After this, they stir or agitate the water to turn the cardboard into pulp. They mix this pulp with wood pulp for maintaining the appropriate cellulose content in the recycled cardboard. On completing this activity, they run the assimilation of wood and cardboard pulp through a machine for corrugating the mixture. Thereafter, they bond the corrugated cardboard between two liner boards. This bonding yields mats, which the workers then cut to various standard sizes. However, not all dogs know how to effectively protect their family in a threatening situation. Training your dog to have the skills he needs to warn off an attacker before the situation escalates provides effective protection. Some breeds are more naturally protective than others and harnessing and directing these behaviors so you have an effective protection dog will prove more successful than training a dog that lacks confidence. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is one of those naturally protective dogs. Sometimes 'Staffies' are referred to as 'The Nanny Dog' because of their ability to guard and because they are naturally good with small children in their home. This footage actually me not just Monday morning but every single day when Im trying to wake up and get out of bed. Meerkats sleep between 10-12 hours a day usually entering their burrow in the early evening. They also live in groups, but are not usually found in the Kalahari desert. While most mongooses are nocturnal, Meerkats hunt during the day. Meerkats are up there with sea otters in terms of cute, cuddly sleeping habits. These cat-like creatures live in underground burrows with as many as 50 meerkats (called a mob or a gang). Their burrows can be six to eight feet deep and contain numerous sleeping chambers, including ones used only when breeding. When they lie down to rest, they do so in snuggly heaps, piled on top of each other for warmth. Though in the summer, they may spread out more and sleep above ground. Thank you for watching my video

A lot of people don’t know this, and won’t be receptive, I just want to say to all the parents out there growing their Boy’s hair out, pls stop ✋🏽. You are destroying their hairlines, by pulling it back into a pony tail or braids. I’ve cut boys hair as young as 1 week, 1month, and a bunch before 1yr. I put razors on the line after 1yr if they can stay still for it. I speak from personal and professional experience. And have seen the same kids develop over the yrs. Also when you bring your kids to get chopped stop trying to keep the curls, cut that mess all the way off at least 1 time, so it can blend with the line. Till then I’m doing what’s asked n putting the line where it’s supposed to be, so all you “hair experts” commenting I pushed his line back, or u don’t like the faded hair lines, or I should’ve widened it pls stop, You don’t know anything, understand I’m literally saving lines everyday. Letting yourself down feels uncomfortable. When we feel disappointed in ourselves we often admonish ourselves, reprimanding the disappointing action. This leads to more feelings of disapproval. It’s a hard hole to dig out of when you’re stuck in a self-deprecating cycle. Even if it’s subtle and you simply keep self-sabotaging your bedtime so you can’t wake up and work out, or your diet so you can’t seem to lose those last 5 pounds you want to lose. You’re still stuck in that cycle of self-defeat. Face it! Facing fear head on helps you move past it. It helps you increase presence in the moment, which encourages better decisions that break the ugly cycle of self-sabotage.

When your friends life are always go smoothly but you are not. When someone fall into problems, they tend to give up and stay on their way. Me too, I always felt stress and stuck on my problem for a long time when I got fired. But after a long time stay on exactly this situation, one day I tried to stand on my problem and went out of this mess. How people could escape from their issues. Try to have an optimum mix of realism and optimism. Pat yourself when you deserve it. Scold yourself when you don't. Tell yourself that no one is going to come to fix your problems and promise yourself that you will try. The point to note is that you can't and shouldn't escape from life's problems. What you could do is to not let them take control over you. It may sound disheartening that when you feel things are going bad, they may get worse. That doesn't mean they will not get better. Don't drown yourself in pessimism. I know it's easier said than done but try thinking about it rationally. When something is bothering you, ask yourself what can be done about it. If you can do something about it, do it. If you can't, then worrying about is completely fruitless. The moment you realise that it's not external factors that dominate your mind and that it's you who lets it take control over you, you can start pushing yourself and shielding your mind against such factors. When you experience fear, the natural fight or flight response kicks in, triggering the release of of adrenaline. Everyone should know a stock of ways to easily spook someone. In growing up, you'll probably be victim to some sort of scaring prank. It's good to know a few yourself, so you'll be prepared if you ever need to retaliate. It's also acceptable to spook people on certain holidays like, April Fool's Day and Halloween. Have fun and don't get too carried away in your exploits. Waiting somewhere and jumping out to scare someone all relies on what you know about the person you're scaring. Know their schedule and their routine. This can save you time in waiting for the right moment to pop out. Find a closet, preferably one that lots of people open, and jump out of it. Hold something like a can of soup or dress up in huge coats. This only works for inward-opening doors. Hide behind someones door, and when they close it, jump out and scream something. Adorable, docile and soft, alpacas are prized as pets and cattle around the world. There are no wild alpacas. Alpacas are domesticated versions of vicuñas, South American ruminants that live high in the Andes. Alpacas are related to llamas, which are domesticated versions of another wild Andean ruminant, the guanaco. While llamas are used as pack animals, alpacas are raised mainly for their soft wool. Guanacos and vicuñas are found throughout the Andes Mountains. They are descended from camelids that developed in North America and migrated to South America 3 million years ago, according to Phil Switzer, an alpaca breeder based in Colorado. These animals evolved into guanacos and vicuñas, and about 6,000 years ago, people in the Andes began to domesticate them. There are two breeds of alpaca, the Huacaya and the Suri. Huacaya alpacas are more common, according to Switzer. The main difference between the breeds is the length and fineness of the wool-like fiber, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This is the beautiful moment. The Emperor Gum Moth glues its eggs onto eucalypt leaves, which the large green caterpillars eat when they emerge. The caterpillars are covered in protective spines and build a tough cocoon in which to pupate. They may reinforce this cocoon with bark and remain inside it for one or more years depending on environmental conditions. The adults emerge in summer. The life span of adult Emperor Gum Moths is limited to only a couple of weeks because they are unable to feed. They must rely solely on the energy consumed as caterpillars. When the caterpillar is fully mature it spins a dark brown silken cocoon on a branch which usually has a leaf to protect it with. When spinning is complete, the caterpillar sheds its final skin and takes the form of its pupal life stage. Within a day of spinning completion, the cocoon sets to a hard waterproof shell with a rough exterior and a smooth interior wall. Air holes can be seen along the side of the cocoon indicating that the cocoon is probably otherwise airtight. The moth usually emerges from the cocoon the following year (in spring or early Summer) but depending on weather conditions can stay in the cocoon from anywhere between two and five years. When the metamorphosis is complete, the adult moth regurgitates a fluid to soften the tough cocoon and then cuts a hole using sharp hooks on the base of each forewing. The effort to release itself from the cocoon is vital for its wings to expand and dry after emerging. Pupae cut from the cocoon will hatch, but the moths' wings will never expand. The emperor gum moth does not feed after it emerges from the cocoon, relying solely on the energy it stored as a caterpillar. Their adult life span is limited to a couple of weeks in which they mate, lay eggs and die. The moths, like the caterpillars, are very striking in appearance. The emperor gum moth is a very large moth, having a wingspan of 120 to 150 mm. Females are generally smaller than males. The furless wings and body are multi-colored, but are in overall tones of pale reddish/brown. The wings are decorated with four prominent 'eyes' and various other markings in a symmetrical formation. The antennae of the males are feathery, while the females' are thinner and with fewer hairs.

By the time he is 8 months old, a baby can usually hold himself in an upright position -- at least long enough to get his hair styled.
