MOS Tactical SPAV-W
former Ranger Jon Dufresne reviews this. Full review at: https://spotterup.com/mos-tactical-spav-w-for-the-win/
SPAV-W™
The Special Purpose Armor Vest or SPAV™ is designed to work as an armor plate carrier that can be used low profile, or as a primary assault carrier. The vest was designed after the employees of MOS Tactical™ spent hundreds of hours wearing other brands and spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out what worked best. After all that they designed the SPAV™. This carrier holds SAPI and ESAPI plates and has options in a low profile kangaroo pouch to hold magazines with the provided dividers and mag retention straps. Too many vests these days are designed to hold up for a deployment and that's it. Our carrier is made out of 1000D or 500D Cordura and is built to last. But if something does happen to it there is a NO QUESTIONS ASKED LIFETIME GUARANTEE!!! The SPAV-W™ is our warfare model, the design concept is the same as the SPAV-S™, simple, strong, reliable, and concealable. Our goal was to create a vest that could survive almost anything.

Double Alpha Academy Magazines
https://spotterup.com/double-alpha-academy-dry-fire-practice-magazine/
I can’t accurately guess how many reloads I’ve done with the Double Alpha mag, or how many times its been dropped on a hard surface or I’ve missed the reload and smashed it into the magwell. I get 30-60 minutes of dry fire in almost every morning and in the four months I was using it with my Glock there were thousands, if not tens of thousands of hard impacts on the dry fire mag, and it still functions as it did on day one. I also really enjoy using this magazine when practicing unloaded starts. The design of the mag means there is no slide stop activiation when racking the slide, the spring and weight still give you the feel of racking a live mag, and there is no need to reload a dummy afterward.
I’m not trying to say this mag will change the way you dryfire or will make you a monumentally better shooter. I’m not trying to sell it to you either, I’m not getting anything from this because again Double Alpha doesn’t know I exist. I found this product extremely useful and wanted to bring attention to it for anyone that could also put it to use. If you still think its not worth the $20 and you can make do with dummies then by all means, do it and just be consistent with your dryfire. But perhaps the next time you do a movement drill and have to drop a mag that doesn’t land so gently, or you realize the cost of dummies and the magazine itself isn’t free either you’ll give these a second look. They’re available at Double Alpha Academy for a great price, they even do bundles to save by buying more, but may be available elsewhere. If you have a Glock, Sig 320, 2011, 1911, or CZ Shadow series mag footprint they may be worthy of an investment.

Hemingway, Homeward Bound
Every man speaks easily about the things he hates; try getting him to speak deeply about the things he loves, and he hesitates. He becomes a jug filled with raw words inside a body of silence, and that cracked vessel will spill nothing. Before he left home, life was poetry and filled with song.
When he returned it was a shame to think of such things. The world over are many men who dream of home. Paul Simon sang about it in his song Homeward Bound. In Biblical history Moses and his people spent 40 years searching for it. The idea of where home is or where home was never leaves us. We may feel out of touch at times as if there isn’t a place for us but even in our transitions there are locations.
In the book a Soldier’s Home by Ernest Hemingway the story is about Harold Krebs. Krebs returns home to Oklahoma after seeing action in some of the bloodiest battles of WW1. His family and friends treat him as they did before he left for war. No one understands him or the stories he tells. He is disconnected. Home is not home. He is depressed or suffers from PTSD. He is a stranger in a strange land.
His story is not unknown to many who serve in today’s modern military. For men like Krebs to exist they need to forget everything they are in order to survive. But for men like Krebs to live, they must be courageous and not live a lie. It is not better for the hero to live falsely. He must live openly for his wounds to heal or he will not have peace at home or abroad. Krebs must go forward regardless of how painful he believes it is. Men must have a refuge.
You must work to stay connected in order to combat your loneliness and social isolation. You might not get what you want out of your relationships but sometimes you can get what you need. Don’t shut down relationships, just find your kind of people. Also, start looking at meeting your own needs. Lastly, be patient.

Dale Comstock Delta Force Operator and Green Beret 2015 Phone Interview
Here it is a really informative interview with Dale Comstock. Dale shares his insights on a lot of things. Why he joined the military, who his mentors were/are and some of his views on how to succeed. This was originally done as a phone call but I figured it would be interesting to affix images to it and so I made a quickie YouTube video. We hope you enjoy it.
His book American Badass is for sale.
Dale retired from the U.S. Army in August of 2001, after serving 5 years in the 3rd Special Forces Group (Green Beret) as the Senior NCO and Light and Heavy Weapons expert on an A-Team; 10 years with the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment – Delta (The Delta Force) as an assault Team Leader and Explosives Expert; he served 4 years with the 82nd Airborne Division as an Airborne Infantryman in a Long Range Reconnaissance Platoon; and he served 9 years as a independent security contractor in support of the Global War on Terror (GWOT).

LA Police Gear Terrain Flex Straight Fit Jeans
PURCHASE: https://amzn.to/418KKUu
Read the entire review here: https://spotterup.com/lapg-terrain-fl...
Ben Johnson of Spotter Up "Years ago I was first learning the downside to hitting heavy squats at the gym consistently, my jeans were no longer fitting comfortably. While at the time I thought this was a pretty unique problem I've since learned how common of an issue this is for gym goers, unfortunately there didn't seem to be many jean companies out there offering a great solution. I even went so far as to pay over $100 for a pair of stretchy jeans built specifically for bodybuilders. They came with tiny pockets, still fit skin tight, and after only a few hours any pocket knife clipped to the pocket was sagging as the material stretched. They left much to be desired and at a high cost, so I continued to search and resigned myself to wearing pants other than jeans or just dealing with the fit. I could have saved a lot of money and experienced a better fit much sooner if I had known about these Terrain Flex jeans from LA Police Gear."

Moto run by Dutch Commando, Arminius Tribe
Achnacarry(Scottish Gaelic:Achadh na Cairidh; 'field of the fish-trap/weir') is a small hamlet, privateestate, and a castle in theLochaberregion ofHighland,Scotland. It occupies a strategic position on an isthmus betweenLoch Lochyto the east, andLoch Arkaigto the west.
The settlement has a long association withClan Cameron: SirEwen Cameron of Lochielbuilt the originalAchnacarry Castlein about 1655. This was destroyed by government troops after theBattle of Culloden, but "New Achnacarry" was built near the same site inScottish Baronialstyle in 1802. It was used as aCommandoTraining Depot during the Second World War and the village retains close ties toBritish Commandos, theUnited States Army Rangersand similar units from other allied nations. In 1928, theAchnacarry Agreementwas signed, an early attempt to set petroleumproduction quotas.
The current building and the surrounding estate gained fame as the Commando Training Depot for the Allied Forces from March 1942 to 1945.British Commandos,United States Army Rangersand commandos fromFrance, theNetherlands,Norway, Czechoslovakia,PolandandBelgiumtrained there. Each training course culminated in an "opposed landing" exercise around the area of nearbyBunarkaigonLoch Lochy. As live ammunition was used, there were some casualties whilst training at Achnacarry. Some 25,000 commandos completed training at the centre during the four years it was in use.The castle also suffered some damage due to fire. Several military associations still sponsor a Commando march either annually or from time to time. Generally it is a timed seven mile march, in full battle gear, backpack and combat boots, fromSpean Bridge(site of the striking Commando Memorial) to Achnacarry.
Post Second World War
In August 2001, Achnacarry served as the site of the International Gathering of Clan Cameron, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Colonel Sir Donald Hamish Cameron of Lochiel,K.T., XXVI Chief of Clan Cameron. It also hosted the International Gathering of Clan Cameron in the summer of 2009.
Although the castle itself is in private hands and is not open to the public, the commando memorial can be visited.

5 11 Mission Ready Chukka
Here is a boot that I think you should add to your wardrobe. The 5.11 Mission Ready Chukka has the features you need to be stylish, comfortable, and responsive. Firstly, I’ve written a lot about the benefits of using shoes with a non-elevated “zero-drop” heel for proper posture. The drop is the height differential between where the heel and forefoot sit. Most dress shoes have a “high” drop between 12 and 15 mm. Many running shoes have drops that are a “zero” drop (no heel), or usually between 4mm-8mm. You essentially want a shoe that mirrors the shape and therefore the responsiveness of a running shoe. The higher the drop of the shoe or the thicker the heel of the shoe will mean the shoe is not as responsive to your toe-off when moving to spring or pivot to react to an aggressor. Tool in the tool box. Using data to get better.
4 steel C zones at 10m.
From the draw/surrender position.
Yes, I come back to the first target at the end of my engagement.
Why? It comes from a tactically sound muscle memory build.
No range theatrics here. Just good solid fundamentals to come back to the initial Target that you already shot to ensure you have eliminated it.

Left Right Right Left Drill 1
Rifle/Pistol: Left Right – Right Left Transition Drill
Range/Equipment Requirements:
– 6 Targets – 30meters x 25meters – 2 mags w/9 rounds each – shot timer
Drill: Shooter starts in a depressed ready, relaxed stance. The hips and natural point of aim (NPA) are oriented towards the center of the range, not favoring any target or side. Upon initiator, shooter orients NPA to left side nearest target and engages 3 targets on left side in a near to far order with 3 rounds on each target. Once bolt is locked to rear on empty magazine, shooter conducts a rapid reload while reorienting onto the nearest target on the right side of range, and engages each target starting near to far with three rounds.
Objective: Complete the drill as fast as possible while maintaining an acceptable level of accuracy – this drill is designed to have the shooter focus on the precise movement of the sights from one point of aim to the next. This is accomplished through smooth and deliberate bodily movement, bringing the weapon and sights to the desired point of aim with minimal corrections on target.
Purpose: Develop smooth and precise transitions between multiple targets at varying distances.
With a neutral starting position, upon initiator the shooter sets his natural point of aim and hips to the nearest target, this sets up a knee and hip pivot for the follow-on targets.
Movement is led with the eyes: Upon completion of last round on each target, shooter picks a precise and refined point of aim on the next target, then “floats” the rifle onto this point by driving through the knees and hips. The rifle’s shooting platform remains the same throughout.
Precise timing with acceleration and deceleration of the rifle. Accomplished through the hip directional change, creating a new natural point of aim for each target. This is key to the sights arriving at the specific spot that the shooter has chosen as his precise point of aim.
This particular drill is designed with each target being the same distance and angle apart from the previous target. Intent of this is to serve as a foundation for proper hip-drive movement. Follow on drills incorporate targets with varied distances and angles.
Having a range with targets directly opposite each other in a mirror-image allows the shooter to work transitions both left to right and right to left while maintaining the same changes in distance for both directions.

Ernest and the Mad Gods
The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway
https://amzn.to/3ZPLixG
Ernest
I swear, gentleman, thinking like a victim is a weakness and therefore an illness all men should avoid.
The life of author Ernest Hemingway continues to intrigue people. His protagonists seemed to simply exist in the best way that they knew how; dealing with loss, the fear of loss, or its aftermath particularly after experiencing violence or the death of someone.
In the short-story In Another Country the character called the Major noted that a man mustn’t affix himself to something that he can lose.
Some men pare their life down to the basics; only to things they believe they have some control over; they don’t want to lose something because they were tricked or duped, or worse injured or killed from a lack of foresight; like his character Jake Barnes,
Hemingway believed that the best a man could ever do, although he was beaten, was believe that he wasn’t defeated.
What man ever chooses to be a victim? Is that not better than to throw yourself onto a fire to the mad gods and hope the sacrifice of your life influences them to create better men of the future? Today, do all that you can to work through mistakes and any feeling of loss, shame or embarrassment. Read In Another Country by Ernest Hemingway.
Today, take ownership and responsibility for your own needs and wants.
Focus on helping others, when able.
Stop blaming people.
Practice being grateful.

The world needs good men. The world needs dangerous men. The world needs capable and spiritual men. The world needs men who have a heart for God, and a desire to change the world for the better.
Men must have solutions that are reasonable. Men must also have solutions that they can reason through, and then they must accept the solutions and take action or they will remain stuck for long periods of time; do not refuse to accept a sound answer.
I speak with Garrick about a lot. Mask mandates, woke culture and more. In his own words, "I'm retired military and spent 20 years in the US Navy. I was a member of SEAL Teams Three and Five as well as the Naval Special Warfare Center (NSWC) where I did a tour as a SEAL instructor. I taught firearms, tactic's and explosives on basic and advanced levels to other SEAL team members. During this time I also became certified as a Master Training Specialist. After completing my tour at NSWC I returned to SEAL Team Three and deployed to Iraq. In summary, I completed 6 over sea's deployments to South East Asia and the Middle East. After leaving military service I began contracting for the CIA performing a position depicted in the movie 13 Hours In Benghazi. I did this work for 7 years, completing approximately 1000 clandestine operations; In the process, I became relied upon as a tactical operations expert for the country of Afghanistan. In 2014, I was awarded the Agency Seal Medal for my role during a hostile attack on CIA personnel. In 2015, I started a company known as Red Frog. Initially, I provided Active Shooter response solutions for schools and law enforcement officers. In 2016, my focus transitioned to soley providing tactical training for law enforcement tactical teams conducting seminars, force-on-force and live fire training. In 2017, I also began training military and civilians in basic and advanced use of firearms. During this time I also periodically performed private security work. In 2020, I started a new company known as High Value Target LLC. A new training paradigm was created based upon principals consistent with modern neuroscience and what science has uncovered about how we learn and react under extreme stress. The 3D targets are advanced training aides which significantly enhance the quality of training."
