Ep 12 | The Area of Operations, Beowulf and More, Books, Free Thought, Enslavement and The Way Out
Have you ever pondered over the transformative power of literature? How it can shape your perspective and guide your actions? Join us as we embark on a journey with Michael Lake, Donovan Riley, Nick Baucom and Andy Curtis, exploring how influential books have impacted our lives. We delve into the depths of books like The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Words to the Wise, and Man's Search For Meaning, examining their profound influence on our perceptions and decisions.
Ever thought about the parallels between dystopian literature and the current state of our world? We offer an eye-opening discussion on the eerie similarities between Orwell's 1984 and today's society, contemplating government policies and their effects on society's collective mentality. Beyond that, we discuss the implications of the transhumanist agenda, how movies like Metropolis and Equilibrium throw light on its potential dark future, and the significance of God-given rights versus rights granted by a ruler.
We wrap up the discussion with an exploration of storytelling's power to convey truths about our world. We analyze the themes of individual power and the erosion of individuality, the power of language, and the manipulation of language to control narratives. We also consider the implications of the transhumanist agenda, connecting the dots between the Bible, folklore monsters, and modern day literature and films. We hope our conversation inspires you to see literature as more than just printed words, but as a powerful tool that can spark change and impart spiritual truths.

Brigadier General Joseph S. Stringham retired in 1992 after serving more than 31 years in the U.S. Army. He served at all echelons of command from platoon through brigade with general purpose forces, the U.S. Army Special Forces and the U.S. Army Ranger Regiment. Commissioned a second lieutenant in the Infantry, from the U.S. Military Academy in 1961, then Lt. Stringham volunteered for duty in the Republic of Korea, serving initially as executive officer and then as commander of the 7th Infantry Division’s Extended Ground Reconnaissance Detatchment, and as commander of Co. B, 1st Bn, 17th Infantry. Stringham volunteered for duty with the U.S. Army Special Forces and in April 1963 was assigned to Co A, 7th Special Forces Group (Abn), Fort Bragg, N.C. While attending the Unconventional Warfare/Staff Officers Course, Stringham was granted an early release from the school and awarded the Special Forces 3 prefix, and was assigned to Detachment A -725 then going into mission training for deployment to South Vietnam. His detachment arrived in South Vietnam in December 1963 and was deployed in a remote area in the Central Highlands as part of the Civilian Irregular Defense Group program with the Montagnard Tribes. In 1964 he returned to Fort Bragg, to the 5th SF Group (Abn) and another operational detachment preparing for deployment to South Vietnam. In December 1965, he was promoted to captain and assumed command of Detachment A-301 at Ben Cat, which was under heavy pressure from insurgent forces . The fight for Ben Cat has been historically chronicled in books , publications and in the media. The performance of A-301 is legendary. On May 22, 1965, A-301 and its CIDG Strike Force was neutralized by a large insurgent attack with only part of the detachment and one of the original three companies of the Strike Force surviving. Stringham was then given the mission of recruiting, training and deploying a special mission mercenary force under the control of the J2/J3: COMUS MACV, code named Mike Force, and with a pathfinder/ special reconnaissance force code named Apache Force. Stringham used the Chinese Nung company that survived the attack at BEN CAT, recruited and trained three additional Nung rifle companies and two recon/pathfinder detachments in a period of six weeks. On the afternoon of July 20, 1965, Capt Stringham and the Mike Force were deployed in relief of two CIDG camps, BU DOP and BU GHIA MOP, then under siege by a large North Vietnamese Force. The operation would later be featured in the John Wayne movie, The Green Berets. In 1966, CPT Stringham was again assigned to South Vietnam and the 196th Infantry Bde. Stringham rotated from Vietnam in 1968, and served in two exchange officer assignments, as a tactical officer, Royal Military Academy in the UK and later at the Brazilian Army Staff College. In 1975 MAJ Stringham assumed command of the 2d Bn, 21st Infantry, 24th Infantry Div. In 1978, then LTC Stringham assumed command of the 1st Bn, 75th Infantry (Ranger). In 1981, he was assigned to the Department of Army Staff, Strategy, Plans and Policy, Latin America. COL Stringham assumed command of the U.S. Military Group in El Salvador in 1983. He later moved from El Salvador to assume J-3, Joint Special Operations Command. In 1985, he assumed command of the recently activated U.S. Army 75th Ranger Regiment where he made significant contributions to standards, training and procedures, concurrently responding to national contingency requirements. In 1987, he was assigned to 1st Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, where he planned and coordinated the special-operations response to the deepening crisis in Panama. At the end of his tour at 1st SOCOM, he was tasked with the staff responsibility of establishing the United States Army Special Operations Command. BG Stringham became the first deputy commander of the USASOC. In 1989, BG Stringham was selected by the Secretary of the Army to be the Senior Defense Representative to Brazil. In 1991 he was assigned to Mexico with the same responsibilities. In December 1992, Stringham retired from active duty; however, he continues to support the special-operations community and the U.S. Armed Forces. He is a senior fellow and guest lecturer at the Joint Special Operations University, and a visible supporter of veterans and veteran organizations. He is a member of Chapter 92, Special Forces Association, and the 75th Ranger Regiment Association. General Stringham and his wife, Sandy, reside on their farm in northeastern AL.

LA Police Gear Terrain Flex Straight Fit Jeans
PURCHASE: https://amzn.to/418KKUu
Read the entire review here: https://spotterup.com/lapg-terrain-fl...
Ben Johnson of Spotter Up "Years ago I was first learning the downside to hitting heavy squats at the gym consistently, my jeans were no longer fitting comfortably. While at the time I thought this was a pretty unique problem I've since learned how common of an issue this is for gym goers, unfortunately there didn't seem to be many jean companies out there offering a great solution. I even went so far as to pay over $100 for a pair of stretchy jeans built specifically for bodybuilders. They came with tiny pockets, still fit skin tight, and after only a few hours any pocket knife clipped to the pocket was sagging as the material stretched. They left much to be desired and at a high cost, so I continued to search and resigned myself to wearing pants other than jeans or just dealing with the fit. I could have saved a lot of money and experienced a better fit much sooner if I had known about these Terrain Flex jeans from LA Police Gear."

Anybody who has done a bit of traveling or had to hike long distances with their gear should have developed a real appreciation for versatile, capable and–possibly most important– comfortable packs. So when seasoned travelers, adventurers, and military veterans see a quality backpack they tend to show a lot of interest and want to try it on and play with all the bells and whistles.

The Hazard 4 Clerk is exactly that kind of bag, and I could easily write a thesis on every small thoughtful design feature that makes this bag exceptional. Instead I decided to go over everything in a detailed product video.

MEDITATION 10: The Importance of Having a Mentor and Why Men Need Them
Good will hunting: https://amzn.to/3LuDZ9w
“The best teacher makes himself unnecessary to his students.”~Michael Kurcina
The story of Mentor comes from within the ancient Greek story of Odysseus. Odysseus, the Ithacan king, goes off to fight in the Trojan war and entrusts the care of his home to Mentor. Mentor serves in a two-part capacity to Odysseus’ son, Telemachus; he is a steward of the home and a teacher as well to Odysseus’ son Telemachus. The goddess Athena assumes Mentor’s form, many times in the story, and dispenses advice to both father and son; Telemachus and Odysseus. Today the name mentor is used for someone who is a trusted advisor, friend, teacher and wise person. The word mentor is sometimes used interchangeably with the word coach but they are not the same thing. Highly productive student to mentor relationships in history: Hayden to Beethoven, Freud to Jung, Archimedes mentor to Galileo, Socrates to Plato, and Johann von Staupitz was a mentor to Martin Luther. Major General Fox Conner was a model Army mentor. Conner served as a mentor to Eisenhower.
Action: Become a mentor to someone. If you are already a mentor keep doing so. If you are micromanaging someone maybe it’s time to stop doing that. Make yourself nothing special. Communicate the unknowable until it becomes knowable; have a plan, knowledge, faith and time. Watch people grow without you.
