WEX Wakeup: Sen. Tim Scott suspends 2024 presidential campaign; Ronna McDaniel talks election losses
#wexwakeup for Monday, November 13☕☀️
Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) suspended his campaign for the presidency.
In announcing the suspension of his campaign, Scott made clear that his political career is far from over, and he still has high aspirations. The news came on Fox News's Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy. "If you ever want to love your country more, run for president. Traveling this country, meeting people has been one of the most fantastic experiences of my entire life. I love America more today than I did on May 22nd," Scott said. "But when I go back to Iowa, it will not be as a presidential candidate. I am suspending my campaign."
No Labels National co-Chairman Larry Hogan was pessimistic about Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) launching a presidential campaign at all, let alone via his third party. Hogan appeared on State of the Union Sunday to respond to the speculation of Manchin's next move. The former Democratic governor of Maryland admitted that Manchin "has been involved in No Labels for a long time."
Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel skirted responsibility for last week's election losses, dismissing critics as not understanding what her role was. In an appearance on NBC News's Meet the Press, McDaniel gave her perspective on Republican losses in the recent 2023 elections, for which she has faced a significant amount of blame. The RNC chairwoman avoided blame for the losses and said that critics don't understand what the role of the RNC is.

Israel to implement four-hour daily pauses in northern Gaza for civilians to evacuate #shorts
The Israeli military will conduct daily four-hour pauses in its fighting in northern Gaza to benefit civilians, the Biden administration announced on Thursday.
Israeli forces urged more than a million civilians in northern Gaza to evacuate south weeks ago, though not everyone has, and Hamas has, at times, prevented civilians from leaving. There has been international concern that Israel's displacement of Palestinians could amount to a war crime, while the humanitarian situation has continued to deteriorate, with a lack of clean water, food, and limited supplies.

FCC commissioner calls Biden equity plan for net control 'sweeping, unprecedented, and unlawful'
Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Brendan Carr is calling the Biden administration's "digital equity" plan for all internet services and infrastructure an "unlawful power grab."
"President Biden’s plan hands the Administrative State effective control of all Internet services and infrastructure in the country. Never before, in the roughly 40-year history of the public Internet, has the FCC (or any federal agency for that matter) claimed this degree of control over it. Indeed, President Biden’s plan calls for the FCC to apply a far-reaching set of government controls that the agency has not applied to any technology in the modern era, including Title II common carriers," Carr said in a statement on Monday.

Youngkin calls for border security as illegal immigration has created a 'national security crisis'
Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) has called for increased border security along the United States's Southern border, noting that illegal immigration has caused a crisis across the nation. The issues of illegal immigration, as well as border security, have been a major talking point of Republican politicians, with Youngkin talking about the issue ahead of Virginia's 2023 state elections next month. Youngkin noted that the state of Virginia has a population of 8.7 million people and that almost the same amount of illegal immigrants have made their way into the U.S., which Youngkin called "unbelievable."
