The Onöhsagwë:de’ Cultural Center is officially open in Salamanca. According to Kari Kennedy-Hoag, curator of the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum, housed inside the centerit was "41 years in the making." Kari's referring to the fact that the original museum, built in 1977 was only supposed to be temporary. The new facility is alsohome to the SenecaArchives and out back there is a amphitheaterthat board member Rick Jemison says "by Spring we're going to have performances here." The eighteen million dollar facility will give visitors a chance to get acquainted with the Seneca Nation history and culture.
