Arraignment hearing for Fredericka Wagner and Rita Newcomb
Two women charged in connection to the Pike County massacre pleaded "not guilty" in a Pike County court Thursday. Rita Jo Newcomb and Fredericka Carol Wagner were not directly involved in the slayings of eight members of the Rhoden family, but helped cover up the crime, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said earlier this week. Newcomb, 65, and Wagner, 76 are facing charges of obstructing justice and perjury. Newcomb is also charged with forgery. They have been held in the Pickaway County Jail. A judge set Wagner's bond at $100,000 and Newcomb's bond at $50,000, both with a 10 percent option. He placed both women under house arrest and their respective homes and said they can have no contact with members of the victims' family.

Pike County massacre arrests new conference
Four members of the Wagner family spent months planning to kill their friends and cover up their tracks, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said Tuesday. Authorities arrested George "Billy" Wagner III, 47; Angela Wagner, 48; George Wagner IV, 27 and Edward "Jake" Wagner, 26 Tuesday and charged them each with eight counts of aggravated murder with death penalty specifications, as well as other crimes, for the deaths of eight members of the Rhoden family in the 2016 Pike County massacre. "They were brutally and viciously executed," DeWine said. Two other family members were also charged with helping to cover up the crime, according to DeWine.

CINCINNATI - A Hamilton County Common Pleas Court magistrate resigned this week after video cameras caught him chasing a woman down courthouse hallways and pulling her into his courtroom, then ordering her arrest, leading to a violent incidentthat spread from hiscourtroom to the jail. The video shows Magistrate Michael Bachman running down the halls pursuing Kassandra Jackson on Sept. 4. Bachman caught up to her at the public elevators and, with his hand on her shoulder, walked her to his courtroom. Once there, the incident almost immediately flared up when Bachmannotified Jackson, sitting in the jury box, that was being arrested for contempt of court.Bachmanresisted two deputies’ attempts to arrest her. The deputies, assisted by courtroom staff, struggled to subdueher. Once Bachman was handcuffed, she still resisted and those deputies and several others dragged her down hallways and elevators to the Justice Center.
