Tina Kotek is an embarrassment and a stain on Oregon and the values of it's citizens. This is an UnCommon update on the harassment lawsuit on Tina Kotek. Oregon Catalyst reports: [NEW EMAILS: MORE PROBLEMS OVER KOTEK’S POLITICAL INVESTIGATIONS In early 2021, former State Representative Diego Hernandez (D-Portland) filed a complaint against then-Speaker of the House Tina Kotek, alleging she threatened to end his career over his refusal to toe the line and vote with her on a 2019 bill that cut public employee benefits. The timing is suspect as early that same year, Hernandez resigned from the legislature after pressure from Kotek, when some of his previous intimate partners accused him of harassment. To look into Hernandez’s claim of harassment against Kotek, legislative rules state investigations must be made by an independent party and ‘must be completed within 84 days from the date the complaint was made’. It took 609 days for a Stoel Rives lawyer, Melissa Healy, to produce her report. While the lawyer says the massive delay isn’t related to Kotek’s run for governor, this looks like political favoritism in a big way. The Willamette Week reported the lawyers draft heavily favored Kotek in finding that the events likely went as Hernandez claimed, but her conduct of alleged threats did not violate legislative rules. UnCommon Sense 42020 reads an article from Oregon Catalyst: LARS LARSON: KOTEK’S PERSONAL OPINION SHOULDN’T SUPERSEDE OREGON’S LAWS Tina Kotek wants the job of Oregon Governor. That should scare you half to death. Consider Kotek’s position on the death penalty. Over the weekend, I saw that all three candidates asked about Oregon’s voter approved capital punishment. Democrat Governors…Kitzhaber the corrupt, and Kate the incompetent…declared a moratorium on the death penalty…without asking voters first. Republican Christine Drazan promises to end that moratorium. Kotek? She says she opposes the death penalty based on her personal religious beliefs. She was raised Roman Catholic, but for the life of me I can’t find any mention of what religion she actually follows. Apparently, it’s the religion that says killing criminals convicted of murder is wrong, but killing unborn babies is perfectly okay. Sounds like a strange one to me. But the thing that should scare you…Kotek believes if she’s elected Governor she should follow her own personal beliefs instead of the laws passed by the people and their representatives. Last time I checked, we call that a dictatorship. Another great reason to vote Christine Drazan for Governor. A second Oregon Catalyst article reads: AT 100% VOTE SCORE, TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION ENDORSES DRAZAN The Taxpayers Association of Oregon looked at the taxpayer votes of the Oregon governor candidates and found that candidate Christine Drazan was the only candidate to score 100% “A” rating across three Legislative Sessions. Christine Drazan voted AGAINST all the major tax increases like Oregon’s largest tax increase in it’s history the Corporate Activities Tax, the Cell Phone Tax, the 72-cent gas tax (known as Carbon Tax) and voted against two different bills to steal part of the people’s Kicker Income Tax Refund. Christine Drazan also voted against major milestone big government laws like reducing diploma graduation standards for students (SB 744). Christine Drazan has always had an open door to helping us at the Taxpayers Association of Oregon, which is why she has earned the endorsement from us and other liberty defending organizations such as NFIB, TimberUnity and Lars Larson. The fact that Christine Drazan, for most of the year, has out-funded Tina Kotek and also has been within the polling margin of victory makes this an even more timely choice. The national forecasting firm, The Cook Report, said that Oregon’s Governor’s race was the most surprising governor’s race in the nation. This is how impressive Christine Drazan has been.
