These people came across an opossum who had been hit by a car. The mother was clearly dead and had begun to decompose, but amazingly her babies were still alive. They were immediately taken to the local veterinarian for a check-up and then taken home to be raised until they were able to be released back into the wild. As a side note, over a year later, one of them still lives on their property and occasionally shows up for a hand fed meal! Incredible!
