From Despair to Redemption: A Story of Grace and Renewal
It’s very difficult for me to explain part of my past without becoming very emotional; especially when I think about the love, grace, and goodness that God showed to me after I’d made a compete ruin of my life. After years of drug abuse, suicidal thoughts, homelessness and imprisonment, the Lord turned my life around and blessed me with achievements, a better life, and a pardon, all of which are the result of His boundless love and grace. Thank You Father. For more info, see the following article: https://thinkingonscripture.com/2013/05/01/i-am-barabbas/

God's Word Defines Reality
Our perspective shapes our attitude and sense of meaning and wellbeing. But our perspective on life comes from somewhere. Some seek to shape their own perspective on life, and others borrow the perspective of others. For most, it's a blend of the two. For the Christian, our perspective on life is derived from God and His Word. The Bible, plainly understood, defines what is, so that we can make sense of it and orient to reality.

"Is My Brother in Heaven or Hell?"
"Is My Brother in Heaven or Hell?" This was a question to me about 20 years ago by an inmate at the Lubbock County Jail. The man recounted his brother's accidental death a few years earlier and wondered whether his brother was a Christian or not. Here's how I answered him.

God Uses Trials to Shape Us
Sometimes when I find myself in a difficult situation, I will pray to the Lord and ask Him to remove it. Sometimes He does, and sometimes He doesn’t. I realize that what He does not remove, He intends for me to deal with, and this by faith. I also understand that God is more concerned with my Christian character than with my creaturely comforts, and that He uses the difficulties of life to help shape me, to transform me, to develop the character of Christ in me. When God turns up the heat, He never takes His hand off the thermostat; He’s always in control. And that God is working “all things together for the good to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Rom 8:28). James says, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing” (Jam 1:2-4).

The Filling of the Holy Spirit
In Ephesians 5:18, the apostle Paul tells us to “be filled with the Spirit.” The world “filled” translates the Greek verb πληρόω pleroo, which is a present passive imperative. The present tense implies ongoing action, which means the filling of the Spirit is enduring. The passive voice means we are to receive what the Spirit’s work in our lives. And the imperative mood means it’s a command to be obeyed. To be filled with the Spirit does not mean we have more of the Spirit at one time and less at another; rather, it means the Spirit has more of us. To paraphrase Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer, the filling of the Spirit means the Spirit is fulfilling in us all that He desires. And one of the chief characteristics of being filled with the Spirit is an attitude of gratitude in which we give thanks to God and worship Him (Eph 5:19-20).

Don't Argue with Unbelievers
Paul said, “The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.” (2 Tim 2:24-26)

How Many Angels Fell when Satan Fell?
How Many Angels Fell When Satan Fell? Biblically, we do not have an exact number of how many angels fell when Satan fell. Fallen angels are those who chose to follow Satan in his rebellion. There is a passage in Revelation 12:4, which tells us that Satan "swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth." Stars in that passage is a reference to angels.
