Global research into solar geoengineering, or solar radiation modification (SRM), is gaining momentum. Late in June, the White House released a report calling for more exploration of such technologies, while the European Union called for a collaborative risk assessment of the SRM. In this interview with The New American, investigative journalist Efrat Fenigson discusses the U.N. report "One Atmosphere: An Independent Expert Review on Research and Deployment of Solar Radiation Modification," published in February 2023.
