We all know the tragedy that happened to Shanquella Robinson, and the outrage that it has sparked across the nation. Some people are calling for the death penalty for all of the Cabo 6, and some are now saying the parents of the Cabo 6 should go to jail for life. A few YouTubers are now doxxing some of Cabo 6's deal relatives. Meanwhile, others are falling on the other side of the spectrum. Here, a man says that those of the Cabo 6 that were "spectators" should not even go to jail. He mentions as a punishment "community service." He talks of the reality of sending people to jail. Context: Shanquella Robinson's family and friends came together in North Carolina over the weekend to rally support and seek justice for the 25-year-old woman who died while vacationing in Mexico in late October. Robinson, who was staying at the Fundadores Beach Club in San José del Cabo with a group of friends, was later purportedly seen on a leaked video allegedly being viciously attacked in her hotel room by a female friend. Mexican authorities ruled that Robinson's Oct. 29 death was femicide, a form of gender-based violence. A warrant was issued for Robinson's friend — the alleged attacker — and the local prosecutor said Robinson died as a result of "direct aggression." (The identity of the alleged assailant has yet to be disclosed.) Saturday's event on behalf of Robinson, which took place at Charlotte's Little Rock AME Zion Church, was put together by the Million Youth March Of Charlotte & Salisbury Teen Advisory Board, drawing hundreds of supporters. Robinson's father Bernard spoke out during the event, saying after he saw his daughter's body in the funeral home, he "stood there crying like a baby." "I sat there and said, 'Baby, Daddy will get you justice.'" "All I want is justice," Bernard reportedly said. "I just want the Mexican authorities, the embassy, to do the right thing; make it right. Because they came over there on your soil and did what they did and came back here." The story of Robinson's death has been beset by confusion. Robinson arrived at the resort city on Oct. 28 with six friends to celebrate a birthday, reports Queen City News. The next day, her mother, Sallamondra Robinson, told QCN, her daughter's friends called to tell her that Shanquella had suddenly passed away. "They said she wasn't feeling well. She had alcohol poisoning," Sallamondra told QCN at the time. She added, "Each one of the people that was there with her was telling different stories." Young Thug is in court right now! Context: The rapper entered a negotiated plea, known as an Alford plea, in which a defendant doesn’t admit he committed the crime, but acknowledges that it is in his best interest to plead guilty. The charge Gunna faced was one count of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corruption Act. Gunna was sentenced to five years with one served in prison. The one-year sentence was commuted to time served. The four-year remaining balance on his sentence has been suspended and will be subject to special conditions including 500 hours of community service. After the sentence came down, the rapper released a statement, saying: “While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way.” Despite saying that he will not testify, it is a condition of Gunna’s trial that he testifies if he is called, though he can claim the Fifth Amendment. Gunna, Young Thug and 26 others were arrested in May in a sweeping gang indictment that claimed YSL is a violent criminal street gang that has committed multiple murders, shootings and carjackings over the course of a decade. Prosecutors said that the rappers promoted the gang’s activities in songs and on social media. In his statement Wednesday, Gunna said that when he joined YSL in 2016, he didn’t consider it a gang, but “more like a group of people from metro Atlanta who had common interests and artistic aspirations. My focus of YSL was entertainment -- rap artists who wrote and performed music that exaggerated and ‘glorified’ urban life in the Black community.” Gunna said he cherishes his association with YSL music and always will. During Gunna’s court appearance Wednesday, the judge read out the stipulations of the plea agreement that Gunna then responded to. The rapper swore that he has personal knowledge that members or associates of YSL have committed crimes in furtherance of the gang -- but seemed to distance himself from “YSL the gang” versus “YSL the label.” “I recognize, accept and deeply regret that my talent and music indirectly furthered YSL the gang to the detriment of my community,” Gunna acknowledged on the signed statement. “YSL as a gang must end.” Gunna also attested in the plea deal that he was in a car with Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, when officers pulled them over and found hydrocodone, methamphetamine and a firearm inside. According to the plea agreement, Gunn claimed the gun and drugs weren’t his. It’s unclear if anyone else was in the car at the time. Per the plea agreement, the rapper will have to perform 500 hours of community service, a substantial portion of which will require him to speak to young people about the hazards and immorality of gangs and gang violence. He is also not allowed to carry a gun during the term of his sentence. If he violates the terms of the plea agreement, the district attorney has the right to revoke his suspended sentence. Alleged YSL co-founder Walter Murphy also negotiated a plea deal in the indictment on Tuesday, according to his lawyer, Jacoby Hudson. Hudson said Murphy has already been released and that he will not testify about the conduct of any other individual defendants. Hudson said the ways that Murphy has changed his life since he got out of prison was a major factor in the deal. Young Thug remains in jail. His trial is set to start in January. Context: The principal of a Southern California elementary school has died after jumping from a parking structure at Disneyland, according to officials. Christopher Christensen, 51, died Saturday. According to Anaheim Police, a call came in just before 9 p.m. to a parking structure at Disneyland. When officers arrived, they found a man dead. Sunday, the Orange County Coroner confirmed that man was Christensen. According to officials, Christensen's death was a suicide. Christensen was the principal at William T. Newland Elementary School in Huntington Beach, beginning this school year. He served a total of 22 years working as part of the Fountain Valley School District, including as the principal of Roch Courreges Elementary, Fulton Middle School and the since-closed Moiola K-8 School. "Mr. Christensen has been a respected leader in FVSD for over 20 years," Fountain Valley Superintendent Katherine Stopp said in an email to the school community. "His contributions to this community are immeasurable. He was a father, husband, brother, and friend to so many. His passing leaves us devastated and heartbroken." The district said that it will also be providing counselors and mental health professionals at all campuses throughout the district who are struggling with the loss. In a post on his Facebook page, Christensen wrote that he had been put on administrative leave from his position after a recent argument with his wife "landed me in jail that night." Christensen was facing charges of child endangerment and battery, to which he pleaded not guilty. He was due in court on Monday. Investigators say the boy had unlocked the gun box in his mother’s bedroom and went to the basement, where she was doing laundry. Despite initially claiming that he was “twirling the gun around” and it accidentally went off, he later admitted to his maternal aunt, Sharhonda Reid, that he assumed a “‘shooting stance’” and aimed the gun at his mom. Quiana Mann’s last words were reportedly, “Why do you have that? Put that down.” She was fatally shot in the face approximately three feet away from her, according to detectives. Immediately after the killing, computer records show the boy accessed his mother’s Amazon account and purchased the headset. Before the boy told allegedly confessed to his aunt, and the shooting was still being treated as an accident, Reid took her nephew to see his grandmother. “Upon arrival, when [the boy] saw his grandmother crying, he stated without any empathy or compassion: ‘I’m really sorry for what happened. I’m sorry for killing my mom,’” the criminal complaint says. “After apologizing for killing his mother, asked if his Amazon package arrived.” The boy later altered his story and the family called the police.
