Many people see God the Father as the being holding a lightning bolt ready to smite us if we step out of line. We are told we should "fear the Lord". I believe the Father is the most loving being in all creation. We should be so in love with the Father that we show how much we love Him by our beliefs and good works. Our fear should be in letting Him down! The Lord created us and blessed us with life and free will, we are free to love God above all things, love our neighbors as ourselves and have that relationship with Jesus, who is the way to the Father. Heaven and Hell are both places and results. Where we end up after this live depends on how well we loved. not the bottom line. We are body, mind, and soul. Prayer and worship feeds our souls. There are three questions that every person must face at some time in their life. The first is, why am I here on earth? The second question is what am I supposed to do? And the third question is what happens when this life is over? Many of the great philosophers have tried to answer this question. The philosopher who answered this question the best in my mind is Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the only begotten son of God. This in no way reflects badly on any of the other great philosophers or religious leaders, who have lifted their people up to a higher state of consciousness. There are many ways to Jesus and God is greater and more wonderful that our human can understand and greater than all the books ever written in the Bible is just a snapshot of how great God is.
