If you have been following along with Samara Morrigan you are already aware of what has been going on with her. She had her last injection on 8-10-23 for the nodules on her body and the good news is that they have become smaller. I will be calling the specialist next week to give them an update. I have three to four hummingbirds that keep coming in for some nectar on red honeysuckle. I have learned that hummingbirds migrate like monarch butterflies do and a few other things. It is always a sad day at Adnor's Temple when you wake up to find that T-fly has killed Monarch Butterfly chrysalis's. This is the risk you run when bringing in caterpillars but don't let that stop you from bringing them in, as not all will have this happen. I have only had to deal with this once in the four years that I have been rearing Monarch's. I thought I'd "glance" in the garden for eggs and you wouldn't believe what I found! After cleaning cages, giving fresh leaves and counting heads I went out to the garden to harvest more leaves and I found 4 more caterpillar's!

Cleaning cages, giving fresh food, removing and rehanging a chrysalis. While cleaning cages remember to work around the caterpillars that are not moving in case they are ready to molt. Keep cages clean, do a headcount, check the zipper, give fresh food when needed. Always give more food than they need. More is always better with these guys.
