Controller Scope Tags vs Program Scope Tags in Studio 5000
Controller scope tags are the best for being used globally through the whole plc processor's program file & are the easiest to use when communicating to HMI systems or being used through an OPC topic.
Program scope tags are best used to keep the tags usage local within that section of the plc processor's program. Program scope tags are often used for high-level modulus programming to be able to duplicate a program section and use it again within that same PLC processor.
Of course, that is just one reason to use program scope tags but I thought I would give you an example of why.
Both controller scope & program scope tags have their own purpose, often the reason for using one or the other is in the hand of the person programming.
All videos made on YouTube are a knowledge share of information as the person has experience with that would be helpful to others but is not limited to the information being shared.
There are multiple ways to accomplish a goal in plc programming so we appreciate your support.
