Kirk Cameron - Lessons Learned at Home, Part 1
Many parents choose to homeschool because they value family relationships. However, though it’s not intentional, it’s quite common for the children to become the priority and for the marriage relationship to be pushed aside. It’s difficult for a family to thrive if the relationship between husband and wife is not Christ-centered and healthy.
Join Yvette Hampton and Kirk Cameron as he shares some of the lessons he and his wife, Chelsea, have learned about setting a solid foundation over the past 28 years of marriage, and through many years of homeschooling.

Since then, he’s appeared in numerous television and movie productions, including the “Left Behind” series, “Monumental,” and “Fireproof”- the marriage-centered film that became the #1 grossing inspirational movie of 2008. His newest film, Connect, offers “real help for parenting teens in a social media world.”

2+2=4 - Why Academics Matter in Home Education - Abraham Hamilton
"Christianity is an intelligent faith."
In this excerpt from her interview with Abraham Hamilton III, Yvette Hampton and Abe discuss the importance of Academics in homeschooling. They find that Academics, properly taught should build a Biblical worldview in our children and prepare them to be salt and light in the world - when they are fully trained.
Why does family discipleship matter? What does it even mean? How about what we teach our kids about worldview? What kind of impact do we as parents have on not only our own families, but our entire nation through the training up of our own children? And, what does the Bible have to say about it? How does homeschooling play into all of this?
In this interview for The Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast, Yvette Hampton talks about these important issues with Abraham Hamilton, III. Abraham is husband to Maria, homeschool dad to five wonderful children, lawyer, Bible Teacher and national radio and television talk show host.
Listen to The Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast at https://Podcast.SchoolhouseRocked.com .
Abraham Hamilton, III serves as American Family Association’s General Counsel and host of “The Hamilton Corner” which airs Monday through Friday at 5 p.m. CST on the American Family Radio Network. He also hosts “The Hamilton Corner” television program, which airs Friday evenings at 8 p.m. CST. He has an undergraduate degree in New Testament Biblical Literature and a Juris Doctor degree. Abraham (“Abe”) is licensed to practice before all Louisiana State Courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Louisiana, as well as all Texas State Courts.
Scripture mentioned:
1 Samuel 12:14-15 (ESV)
"If you will fear the Lord and serve him and obey his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, and if both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the Lord your God, it will be well. But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you and your king."
Joshua 22:5 (ESV)
"Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lordcommanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

The Power of Words, Part 1 - Sherri Seligson on the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast
Sherri Seligson joins Yvette Hampton on the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast to talk about the power of words.
Listen to the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at https://Podcast.SchoolhouseRocked.com
Our world is filled with words. Whether we are reading them, writing them, or instructing with them, they are our tools to build stories, create emotions, and make connections. Yet we need to be aware that words have the power to build up others as well as to tear them down, especially when we speak them to our children. That means words can cause our children to stumble or they can encourage them to soar! God has much to say about our words. They need to be crafted carefully and gently but firmly shared. This is how we can engage others and train up our children. Let’s contemplate not only the power of our words, but how we can boldly use them.
Sherri Seligson is a 21-year veteran homeschool mom of 4 children: a bachelor’s in Pre-med, a marine biologist, a Master’s in Education, researcher, wife, and Christian. Before being promoted to motherhood, Sherri worked as a marine biologist at Walt Disney World’s Living Seas, publishing shark behavior research. She has authored Apologia’s Exploring Creation with General Science, Marine Biology, and Internships for High School Credit, instructional video courses for Apologia’s science curricula, and companion curricula for feature films including Dolphin Tale and War Horse. An international conference and retreat speaker, Sherri uses transparency, truth, and humor, to encourage moms on their homeschool journey and to teach families and students the importance and excitement of studying God’s creation.

10 Steps to Homeschooling with EXCELLENCE - Yvette Hampton and Aby Rinella
On a daily basis now, parents are considering homeschooling for the first time ever and asking the question, “But How?” Yvette Hampton and Aby Rinella answer this important question in this discussion for The Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast.
It’s 2020 and EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED! For the first time, many have been faced with one of the greatest decisions of their parenting lives. How will they educate their children? Will they continue to send them to school during this time of COVID-19 restrictions, masks, and social distancing? Will they sit them in front of a computer screen for hours of ZOOM virtual classes? Or will they withdraw them completely and HOMESCHOOL and test the waters of real, parent-directed education at home.
Notes and Recommended Resources:
Here are 10 very specific steps to get you started on the right path, or encourage you along the way if you’re already traveling the homeschool road.
1. PRAY. Do that first. Surrender your homeschool to the Lord. Seek Him in all you do.
2. KNOW YOUR WHY. So that when it gets hard, and it will, you can go back and be reminded.

Kirk Cameron - Lessons Learned at Home, Part 2
Many parents choose to homeschool because they value family relationships. However, though it’s not intentional, it’s quite common for the children to become the priority and for the marriage relationship to be pushed aside. It’s difficult for a family to thrive if the relationship between husband and wife is not Christ-centered and healthy.
Join Yvette Hampton and Kirk Cameron as he shares some of the lessons he and his wife, Chelsea, have learned about setting a solid foundation over the past 28 years of marriage, and through many years of homeschooling.

Kirk Cameron has been a part of the national landscape since starring as “Mike Seaver” in the ABC hit sitcom, “Growing Pains.” That role turned him into a cultural icon in the 80’s, with his mullet hairstyle, cool sunglasses, and wisecracking comebacks.

"Ask the Right Questions" Tim Barton, of Wallbuilders
Here's a preview from the upcoming 250th episode of the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast. Don't miss this important conversation with Tim Barton, coming April 19th!
Listen to the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast at https://Podcast.SchoolhouseRocked.com
or watch the interviews on the Schoolhouse Rocked YouTube Channel.
Timothy Barton is the President of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that presents America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on our religious, moral, and constitutional heritage. WallBuilders has been recognized from coast-to-coast for its work in education, history, law, and public policy, integrating the elements of Biblical faith and morality throughout all aspects of American life and culture.
Tim is an ordained minister and has worked in a variety of church staff positions, including as youth minister, worship leader, and assistant pastor. He now spends countless hours in WallBuilders’ library of tens of thousands of original documents, researching the truth of America’s founding and exposing the lies regarding our history that currently permeate our society. He consults with numerous state and federal legislators on policy and legislation and speaks to a variety of groups across the nation each year.
Tim’s ability to tell the story of America’s past, while helping audiences understand how that connects to the present and what steps should be taken for the future, has inspired audiences nationwide. Tim has been a guest on numerous national television and radio programs including The Ben Shapiro Show, the Glenn Beck Program, Louder With Crowder, TBN, Andrew Wommack Ministries, Believer’s Voice of Victory, and many others.
Tim graduated from college with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Biblical Studies. During college, he mentored youth, working with local youth groups and serving at an orphanage. He worked for several years as a senior counselor at a large youth camp in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He also served as an athletic director, teacher, and coach at a Christian School in Texas.
Regardless of where he is, Tim speaks into the lives of those around him, encouraging them to live passionately and to follow Christ whole-heartedly.
