Know Your "Why," Part 2 - Aby Rinella - Best of the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast
Know Your "Why"
What does the Bible say about training the hearts of our children? Join Yvette and Aby Rinella as they discuss what the Bible calls us to as parents, especially in regards to their day to day education.
Aby Rinella is, above all, a follower of Jesus. She is also the director of her local homeschool co-op, director of women’s ministry at her church, wife, mom and teacher to the Rinella children. She writes and speaks on homeschool, motherhood, parental rights, the culture war and more and has a passion for encouraging and inspiring women to live the life they were designed to live.
Aby and her husband also write for the outdoor industry about their adventures together, showing their kids the Creator by spending time in His creation.
"Why do I homeschool? Because today my children will be at home with me, learning about the catastrophic events that happened in New York. About the evil that happens when we deviate from God's design. And about how we have a God that mourns because he loves his people. They will be home with me, praying for the preborn babies, rather than in a public school system that tells them they get to choose for themselves what is good and evil, rather than looking to God for truth." - Aby Rinella

It's Summer! Aby Rinella, Part 3
You made it through another school year full of laughter, tears, struggles and lightbulb moments sprinkled throughout a year full of learning, growing, and being together. The countdown has come to an end and your much-deserved break is here.
The textbooks are shelved, the dry erase markers put away and the alarm clocks can take a rest. Everything slows down and a new kind of fun begins.
Summer break.
A great reset for homeschool families; a time to reflect on the last year and prepare for the next. A time for the kids to unwind and run free. But, as with anything, we know that there is always an opportunity to have the blessings robbed if we do not protect these special times.
But take heart, you can make this the best summer yet; a summer full of fun and memories, with learning and growth woven in. You can turn that boredom into opportunity all while getting the much-needed break you have been waiting for!*

The Price is Right! Nancy Manos, Part 2
Yvette Hampton is back with Nancy Manos to talk about the price we pay to homeschool and reminds us why we started this homeschool journey and how we can finish strong.
Being a homeschooling family requires a great deal of sacrifice and investment. As an experienced homeschool mom who taught her children at home all the way through high school, Nancy Manos will tell you that the price is absolutely right!
When we choose to homeschool our children, we have the opportunity to nurture and develop the unique gifts and abilities the Lord has placed in each one at a much deeper level than if they were in someone else’s care every day.

Raising Kids (to be Adults) - Jonathan Brush, Part 3
Conventional education keeps students at their desks, actively undermines their faith in Christ, and forces most to start their life in debt. A real alternative is desperately needed.
Join Yvette Hampton for the conclusion of her conversation with Jonathan Brush, a first generation homeschool graduate, homeschool dad of six, and President and CEO of Unbound, a program designed to develop exceptional Christian leaders by providing the tools, community, and experiences that enable an extraordinary life of purpose.
Listen to the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast at https://Podcast.SchoolhouseRocked.com

JONATHAN BRUSH is the President and CEO of Unbound, a homeschool graduate, and a homeschool dad of six. He worked for nine years as a Director of Admissions for a private, liberal arts college, and then spent over ten years working in non-traditional higher education.
Jonathan loves Unbound and Unbound students and dreams every single day about new ways to connect them to each other. He gets to work with the world’s best team and the most amazing student body in the history of the world (which is just as awesome as it sounds), and field questions about Rule 4 violations (ask an Unbound student to explain). Jonathan and his family make their home in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

Ginger Hubbard on Biblical Parenting
"Imagine trying to teach your child how to tie his shoes without the practice principle. Just verbally walking him through the process is not going to be enough. At some point, you would have to physically demonstrate how to do it, and then not only that, but require him to practice it on his own. And so, the way that I look at it is if the practice principal is vital for teaching such a morally neutral task as tying shoes, how much more important is it for training children in Christ-like character?" - Ginger Hubbard
Ginger Hubbard is an encouragement to me and thousands of other homeschool moms as she speaks at conventions all across the country on the topic of biblical parenting. She is the author of several books including Don’t Make Me Count to Three, Wise Words for Moms, and I Can't Believe You Just Said That!
