#Utah #Libertarian #BradGreen I sit down with Brad Green, the Libertarian Party of Utah endorsed candidate running for United States House of Representatives from Utah's second Congressional District. Born & raised in Utah, Brad has a deep love & respect for this beautiful state. Many people see the issues the state of Utah is facing. Many feel that Utah has lost it's connection to the liberty centric & rebellious spirt that made it such a great place to live. Before we can heal our wounds we must first return to the baseline of following & upholding the original intent of the US Constitution, which is the supreme law of the US. Join me as I review and breakdown the latest press conference from Utah's governor, Spencer Cox, who is spearheading a court case aimed at the video tech giant, TikTok. The state of Utah alleges that damage to the children of Utah happened as a result of preditory business practices aimed at children. This has resulted in the signing of Utah's Social Media Regulation Act (USMRA), which was signed into law by Governor Cox and will take effect in spring 2024. This controversial, first-of-its-kind legal action has raised legitimate concerns about the potential for government overreach resulting in direct attacks on First Amendment protections, including free speech and freedom of the press. Concerns over the loss of privacy seem to be a big concern among Utah residents. These concerns and questions being raised are being dismissed, belittled, and even demonized, as somehow anyone with these concerns is automatically in support of preditory social media practices. Although it keeps being stated that this isn't a "big deal" and that somehow a majority of Utah residents are in favor of the actions being taken by the state, As a resident of Utah, I can say that I am among those with concerns about overreaching government and the installation of a tyrannical technocratic state that happens to be branded with a smiley face.
