An expert car customiser has transformed a 94 Corvette into a stunning replica of the Mach 5 from the iconic 1960’s cartoon Speedracer. Jerry Patrick, who owns car replica extraordinaire AKA Junk, has been transforming cars into classic cartoon and movie vehicles for over a decade. After falling in love with the Mach 5 in the 60’s, 51-year-old Patrick had to fulfil his lifelong dream of driving the real deal. A TEAM of maverick mechanics have completed an incredible transformation of a classic Rolls Royce once owned by eccentric British aristocrat, Lord Tredegar. Dubbed the Rolls Royce rat rod, the car takes its inspiration and design from traditional rat rods, which typically involve customising cars from the early 20th century. Mechanic Sam Hard, 29, from Farnham, Hampshire, headed up the team responsible for the audacious build, which proved a big hit at the recent SEMA car show in Las Vegas. With a combined value of nearly 10 million dollars the Lambos featured models from different eras in the manufacturer’s history in a wide range of customised styles and colors. A CAR enthusiast enjoyed the opportunity of a lifetime by driving a rare, modified Lamborghini worth more than half a million dollars. Japanese car culture expert, Steve Feldman put the limited edition Lamborghini Aventador Roadster through its paces during an epic night drive in Tokyo. Released in 2013 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini, only 100 anniversary Aventador Roadster models were built, and this model has been customized with $20,000 of LED lights and a $10,000 holographic vinyl wrap. A SPORTS enthusiast has developed the first all weather, four-wheel e-bike that looks exactly like a miniature car. Design engineer Mikael Kjellman produced the crazy PodRide vehicle in Sweden with the basic idea of creating a weather protected and more comfortable bicycle. Making use of an electric motor, this road-legal e-bicycle car can travel long distances both easier and cheaper whilst maintaining an eco-friendly journey. A GROUP of luxury car owners show off their awesome line-up of supercars during their latest meet. The car club which goes by the name, QTR Elite Team - short for Qatar EliteTeam - is based in Doha and boasts some of the world’s most luxurious cars. British gardener Kevin Nicks has smashed through his official record for the world’s fastest shed - by reaching a top speed of 96.8mph. The 52 year-old, from Chipping-Norton in Oxfordshire, surpassed his previous record by 8mph on Saturday August 19, at the Wheelie and Top Speed Championships event at Elvington Airfield in York. Kevin was hoping to break the 100mph mark and only fell short due to high winds and adverse weather conditions. But thanks to the added nitrous boost he recently installed on the back of the unorthodox vehicle, Kevin was able to power through and officially break his existing record. A movie-loving petrolhead has spent $125,000 to create his dream car – the Mad Max Interceptor. Michigan born Dale Walter, 50, fell in love with the powerful vehicle when he watched George Miller's seminal film over thirty years ago in a tiny theatre, where he told his friend 'someday I will own that car'. The famous car has featured in three of filmmaker Miller's four pictures, including the latest Mad Mad: Fury Road, starring British actor Tom Hardy in the title role. In 2008, Dale commissioned specialist company Mad Max Cars to convert his 1972 Australian Ford Falcon into the iconic Interceptor – a process which took five years and $125,000. A fanatic has painstakingly created a fully working replica of the Ghostbusters’ car. Loren Baldwin spent two years searching for parts and six months piecing together his very own Ecto-1. He recently visited New York City - taking the car back to its beloved headquarters at Hook and Ladder 8. It cost Loren $20,000 to convert the 1959 Miller-Meteor chassis into the famous movie car - but without the help of fabrication businesses he estimates he would have spent more than $100,000. A GENIUS mechanic has merged a 32ft houseboat with a three-wheel tractor to create the most unorthodox vehicle – an amphibious driving houseboat. In the summer of 2016, Theon Parseghian used a derelict 1967 houseboat and a crop-sprayer tractor to engineer a practical vehicle that operates on both land and water. Theon, who spent $10,000 bringing his project to life, originally built the vehicle because he thought it would be “cool” to do so, but since then more than 500 people turned up to witness its launch in New York. A GROUP of youngsters are breathing new life into the world of monster trucks, as they complete death defying stunts despite their tender age. Known as Team Kid KJ, the team was formed in 2010 by monster truck enthusiast Tod Weston and his son, Kaid ‘KJ’ Jaret Olson-Weston, 14, who was the squad’s first member. Noticing his son’s early passion for the extreme sport, Tod was determined to satisfy his need for speed with the creation of the team and to encourage other young people to get involved. The team now boasts 20 full time members from across the United States and performs in more than 60 shows a year. AN ECCENTRIC mechanic has converted a London taxi into a crazy rat-rod van in just seven days. 44-year-old Paul Bacon, from Leicestershire, spent £450 on a traditional black cab and with the help of some timber, fibreglass and expanding foam he managed to construct a rusty rat-rod that he now uses for work. It took Paul just a week to finish the project – and he admits that he can no longer drive around his local town without receiving a few strange looks. AN AMBITIOUS mechanic has created the first ever street-legal, amphibious car – from a helicopter. Jeff Bloch, aka Speedycop, spent 3,000 hours converting a Vietnam attack chopper and an 86 Toyota chassis into the most unique, but practical, vehicle. In the summer of 2016, Jeff and his team worked over the course of six months at his home in Southern Maryland, USA, and successfully built the unorthodox ‘Speedycopter’ that can operate on land and water.

A TALENTED mechanic has built Australia’s first 'hyper car' – in his shed. The Quantum GP700 was born out of the seven-year passion project of its creator, Jeff David. Aimed at producing breathtaking performance in a road legal car – the Quantum can reach 0-60mph in a staggering 2.6 seconds. Jeff, who resides in Victoria, Australia, worked for around 1,800 hours to develop his masterpiece that is now worth approximately $700,000.

FEAST your eyes on one of Japan’s most insane dekotora trucks. Earlier this year; car enthusiast Steve Feldman; managed to track down the whacky vehicle that took more than 10 years and 100 LED lights to perfect. In the heart of Kisarazu; Japan; Steve hitched a ride in the Sandaimei Bireijo – a former dump truck converted into a well-respected model of the prevalent Japanese dekotora trend. Dekotora; which literally translates as ‘decoration truck’; can often see owners spend up to $100,000 pimping out their rides.

TWO of Donald Trump’s biggest super-fans have manufactured a whacky vehicle to honour his time as US President. Decorated in red, white and blue, ‘The Trump Mobile’ is made of two Mercedes Benz wagons and other parts from 43 different cars – and it is covered in pro-Trump signs and memorabilia including a mini-Trump statue perched on the roof. Finnish couple, Karl and Nina Lindroos, spend most of their time living in Florida and they are responsible for the build that they believe helped Trump gain power in the 2016 US election. And the married duo are showing no signs of slowing down as they are hoping to use the ‘mobile’ to help the controversial leader retain his power in 2020.

DEEP in the North American wilderness, a monster is terrorising the terrain of Idaho’s back country: a 6x6 monster hearse. Built by master mechanic and Naples, Idaho-native Jimmy Driver, the 10ft high, 20,000lbs beast known as ‘Mortis’ has been causing a stir in the local community. Supported by six massive 60-inch tires, Mortis was assembled entirely from scrap parts, including the chassis of a 1967 Cadillac superior, as well as parts from school buses and tractors.

A CAR enthusiast has raced two of his precious movie cars across California to pay tribute to one of his favourite films – The Fast And The Furious. 33-year-old, Franck Galiegue, is the proud owner of the real off-road Charger that Vin Diesel drove in Furious 7. He also owns a perfect replica of the 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse - the very first car that the late Paul Walker drove in the franchise. And so Franck, with his close partner and friend Joffrey Tourret, decided to race the two cars from Gardena, California, to the Neptune’s Net restaurant in Malibu – a place where Vin Diesel and Paul Walker meet in the first movie. The Fast And Furious franchise has now taken over five billion dollars at box office.
