Riding home in a yellow cab in the center of the capitol city of Queretaro, Mexico, we pass by dozens of the arches of this ancient Aqueduct. Built in the beginning of the 17th century, this Aqueduct brought water to 12 fountains in the city. Be sure to look for the sculptures between the arches! Making a drink from cacao popular with the indigenous called Tejate. In Pre-Columbian times it was considered to be The Drink of the Gods. Corn, fermented cacao seeds, and toasted mamey pits (a local fruit) ground to a paste and fresh cacao flowers which rise to the top. One can choose to have it sweetened or not. Deee-licious!
