The book of Genesis opens with a fascinating account of how God created the heavens and the earth. Chapter 1 focuses particularly on forming and filling the earth. God created light on day 1 wheras the sun, moon and stars were not created until day 4. Why is this? And just what does it mean that mankind was made in the likeness and image of God? In this message, Michael Braasch explores these topics and reminds us that "God is light and in Him there is no darkness" (1 John 1:5). Jesus talks about the best subject, Himself - "These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me." Paul persecuted the new Christians until he had an encounter with Jesus. After that, he became the one being chased and beaten and tossed in jail. Is salvation simply a get-out-of-hell free card? Are we supposed to live our lives just like the unbelievers do? Or would we like to have more peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control in our lives? Are there benefits to being more godly and increasing in brotherly love? The genealogy in Genesis 11 covers the line from Noah's son Shem to the patriarch Abraham (Abram originally). The genealogies in Genesis 5 and 11 have caused significant divisions among Christians especially within the last century. Why? Because of the perception that the Bible and science disagree. In this message, Michael Braasch addresses these divisions and explains why the Bible can be trusted just as it is.

Eternality - can it be defined with human words? We can try, but even an attempt to do so can leave most people confused and with a headache. The world is up and the world is down and the world goes sideways before it reverses course and goes the opposite way. Looking for stability - try God. The book of Genesis contains a wide vareity of fascinating passages. But is it just a collection of stories? Even for those who believe it is the inspired Word of God, do we treat it as such? Do we focus so much on The New Testament that we neglect this book of beginnings. What is it about this book that God deemed it important for us to have in our Bible? Michael Braasch starts this series on the Book of Genesis by answering this question of why it matters. Paul continues his introduction and greetings in this first letter to the Thessalonian Christians. Do not grieve The Holy Spirit by talking like an unsaved person when dealing with others. Don't let your rotten words corrupt someone else. The Son of God didn’t first come onto the scene in the final quarter of the Bible. He appeared as a fascinating and sometimes mysterious figure throughout the Old Testament. He is called by many names and referred to in many ways. He appeared as the Word of the Lord, as the presence within the Glory of the Lord, as the personification of Wisdom, as the Angel of the Lord, as the Captain of the Lord’s army, and as Yahweh on earth. Some of his appearances were dramatic, while others were subtle. Each of them highlights the Son’s role as the Father’s messenger. The Devil loves an unrighteous angry mind; it is a fertile playground for all types of sinful behavior. Even righteous anger held for too long can be an invitation to sin. Have you ever had a talk with God? If you do you should take advice from Job on how to act and what to say. Most people have some vague familiarity with end times prophecies. The four horsemen of the apocalypse, et cetera. However, most believers have little understanding of the 1,000-year reign of Christ on Earth after the 7-year tribulation. You might not think you are an enemy of God, but when the pressure comes - will you overcome or show your true nature? Get to know Jesus before that choice has to be made.
