Top 5 WORST Movie Plot Twists in Film History
Nothing makes a story more buzzworthy and acclaimed than a well-crafted plot twist. Unfortunately not all twists are created equally, and a bad twist can ruin a movie. Today we’re looking at the top 5 worst plot twists in movie history:
# 5 The Village
The Village was his first film that really made audience members question M Night Shyamalan's merits as a storyteller, and while Shyamalan has made worse, The Village makes our list for its twist ruining an otherwise decent movie. Viewers are lead to believe that the movie is set in an 1800’s village surrounded by dangerous monsters, but in Shyamalan style, the twist reveals that the village is actually an isolated community set in modern times. Instead of having bonafide monsters, the Village has cult-members in costumes designed to stop villagers from venturing into the modern world.
Years later Shyamalan has said on record that his biggest regret was marketing The Village as a creature feature horror when in reality it was a love story.
#4 Now You See Me
Being that this heist movie feature magicians, you’d think that pulling off a trick would be easier said than done. Not the case. In Now You See Me a group of magicians are brought together by a mysterious third party to rob banks and mega corporations. The FBI agent in charge of bringing them down, played by Mark Ruffalo, is always two steps behind… or is he?
In the movie’s dramatic twist, Mark Ruffalo is revealed to be the orchestrator of the heists, a master of deception that has been fooling the FBI for years. The only problem? Ruffalo’s character shows absolutely zero signs of being the mastermind prior to the reveal and even acts against his true motives constantly throughout the film. Even when he is alone he plays the fool.
#3 Dark Knight Rises
That’s right we’re putting Batman on the list, or more specifically Robin. Just call him Dick Grayson if you’re gonna do fan service! There’s another twist at the end of The Dark Knight Rises that is also infuriating: Bruce Wayne survives. The Dark Knight trilogy puts emphasis on Batman as a symbol of hope, a symbol that comes at a heavy cost, death being the ultimate cost. And yet Bruce somehow gets to survive a nuclear blast and live happily ever after with Anne Hathaway in France.
#2 Planet of the Apes
Tim Burton’s 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes was a failure that tried to recapture the magic of the original. In this version Mark Wahlberg plays an astronaut who ends up in a future timeline ruled by Apes, he then leads a slave uprising of humans against apes before heading back to his time. The twist comes after he crash lands back in modern day Washington DC. As Wahlberg ascends the steps of the Lincoln memorial he finds that Lincoln is replaced with the films villain as he is arrested by simian police officers.
Tim Burton get’s some points for attempting to change up the statue of liberty twist that the first Planet of the Apes so expertly made, but the execution is horrible and confusing. If Wahlberg was in the future for the majority of the film, how does the past have a monument built in honor of an ape that hasn’t been born yet? Did the ape also time travel and rewrite history?
#1 Remember Me
Remember Me is a boring forgettable romance story with Robert Pattinson during his peak Twilight era. Pattinson’s character has authority issues and dates a cops daughter to get back at him for an arrest, but surprise, the two fall in love and they help each other deal with their familial baggage.
Then comes the big twist. Remember Me goes from artistically offensive to morally offensive when it is revealed that Pattinson’s character is in the World Trade Center on 9/11. It’s bad enough when a character get’s killed out of nowhere to stir an emotional reaction from an audience, but it is another thing entirely to turn a world tragedy into a plot twist. And only 9 years after the event?
Sorry Remember Me, surprise 9/11 isn’t a good twist. It’s the very worst.
That’s it for our list of the worst plot twists in history, let us know in the comments what plot twists YOU hate.

Dave Chappelle is everyone's favorite funnyman, having a wildly successful sketch comedy show, along with a brilliant stand-up career. But there are a few facts you might not know about Chappelle, some of which may even surprise you. Chappelle is set to make a major return to television when he hosts Saturday Night Live, so we here at Obsev would like to present you with 10 fun tidbits of information you never knew about Dave Chappelle.
10. He was inspired by Bill Cosby - In hindsight, Bill Cosby might not have been the greatest personal hero, but Cosby’s immense success inspired Chapelle to pursue comedy. At age 14 Chapelle read an article about Cosby in a magazine and realized that being funny full-time was and achievable goal for a smart mouthed black kid. Since Cosby’s controversy however, Chappelle has turned on his idle, and uses Cosby as a punch line in his stand-up.
9. He met Muhammed Ali as toddler - When Chappelle was 2 years old his mother arranged a meet-up with The Greatest. Even at that small age Chappelle was a fan of the championship boxer. When Ali died, Chappelle set out time to travel to his funeral and has publicly described the champion as “beyond royalty”
8. He Still Performs - While Dave Chapelle hasn’t had a TV stand-up special in over a decade, Chapelle still performs live. You haven’t seen much of him because his recent tour has been strictly enforcing a no-phone policy where attendee’s cellphones are locked away to prevent jokes leaking onto the internet. Chapelle believes that smart phones are destroying comedy, saying that bootleg cellphone footage exposes the surprises in comedians’ sets. “So many people record your shows and put them on the Internet before you get a chance to do it, it’s hard to write fast enough to surprise an audience.” Despite his no cell-phone policy and time away from the spotlight, his shows still sell out in minutes.
7. He’s a World of Warcraft Fan - Dave Chappelle is an avid gamer, as evidenced by his Grand Theft Auto sketch, but did you know he also played World of Warcraft in its heyday? Chapelle has publicly referenced the MMORPG in interviews several times, praising his geeky “brothers and sister”, and giving a shout out to a Rogue he says was named after his famous Rick James sketch. Fans have reported seeing him logging into the game at restaurants and cafes. He has also jokingly blamed his hiatus on his WoW addiction.
6. He’s Muslim - Dave Chappelle converted to Islam in 1998. He once said “I don't normally talk about my religion publicly because I don't want people to associate me and my flaws with this beautiful thing, and I believe it is beautiful if you learn it the right way.” In fact, Chappelle used his 2004 trip to Africa partially as a spiritual retreat to better align himself with his religious values.
5. He Studied Theatre - Chapelle attended Duke Ellington school of the Arts in high school where he studies theatre arts. Once enrolled, he began doing stand-up shortly after. In 2015 Chappelle returned to give the graduating class their commencement speech. During his return he recalled almost not receiving his diploma for having due library books.
4. You can thank Playboy for his show - As the story goes, one night Dave Chapelle was watching episodes of Hugh Hefner’s 1960s talkshow Playboy After Dark, when he decided to call his writing partner Neal Brennan up to discuss how they could create their own variety show. Neither had experience with writing sketches, so they began by researching SNL. Soon after, the pair pitched out two sketches, one being an early draft of “Pop Copy”. Allegedly HBO passed on the show, but Comedy Central picked it up and the rest is history.
3. He opened for Aretha Franklin at 19 - At the start of his career, he opened a show for Aretha Franklin at Radio City Music Hall. He performed 15 minutes at the prominent theatre, but the crowd only heard 12 of them. The young comedian foolishly skipped his sound check and sound problems plagued the first 3 minutes of his set.
2. He was only in Africa for two weeks - The media likes to exaggerate how long Chappelle disappeared for, but in reality he was only gone for two weeks. Chappelle also never technically quit the show, and jokes that he is just really late for work.
1. The real reason he left the show. - Lots of speculation surrounds Dave Chapelle’s exit from the Chapelle Show. Mental illness, drugs, and creative differences have all been blamed for Chappelle’s decision to walk away from his 50 million dollar contract. While Chapelle did check into mental health center while in Africa, he mostly attributes the decision to leave as a moral one.

Top 5 TV Shows that NEED to Be Cancelled, Jumped the Shark
If a television show is able to get to a fourth season, chances are that it has some modicum of quality, but once it starts pressing 200 episodes it's more likely that the show has become a husk of its former self. A simple cash cow for network execs to milk dry. Today we're counting down the top 5 shows that were once great but have now overstayed their welcome and need to be canceled A-STAT.
#5 Grey's Anatomy
Long ago this sexy hospital drama was a smash hit that was able to tell heartbreaking and high tension stories, but somewhere along its third cataclysmic tragedy the melodrama started to wear thin.
If you've stopped watching, chances are that your favorite character has died in a the most painful and unlikely circumstances. In total 8 doctors have died over the course of the show's twelve seasons, and the ones that haven't are suffering from survivor's guilt and crippling depression, not to mention the stray bouts of cancer and amputation.
#4 Bachelor
Why is the Bachelor still a thing? They've been doing this for 21 seasons. Hasn't America learned that true love can't be found on a reality TV set? Apparently not, because we're still making women fight for some boring white dude’s roses.
Every season of this show is a rehash of the last and always ends with the couple breaking up.
Maybe once upon a time, the Bachelor was fresh and revolutionary but the concept has been driven into the dirt. It's time we send it to Reality TV Heaven with American Idol and The Jersey Shore or hell with Tila Tequila.
#3 Orange Is The New Black
Once upon a time, Orange Is The New Black was the hot new show making waves and proving Netflix as a force to be reckoned with. Now, Netflix has dozens of better shows and Orange Is The New Black has lost its shine.
There was once a point where it was making sharp commentary on the prison-industrial complex while giving a voice to characters that television rarely hands a microphone over to, but after 4 seasons of the same thing the premise gets old.
#2 Simpsons
Honestly who even still watches the Simpsons religiously?
Sure, the Simpsons is a legendary show, but all good things must come to an end. While it still has its funny moments, the show has drastically declined in quality over its 28 year run. Successors like Bob's Burgers and American Dad now command the same presence that the Simpsons once did so it's time for Homer and kin to step aside.
Out of the respect we think the Simpsons should be allowed two more seasons, one mediocre that no one will watch and one that’s a momentous celebration of 30 years of animation. But that's all you get Simpsons. 30 Seasons. Ask for any more and we're pulling the plug.
#1 Big Bang Theory
To be fair the Big Bang Theory was never a particularly "great" show, which is why its critical and commercial success baffles so many. But even by its own standards, The Big Bang Theory has gotten boring. Like we get it, they're all nerds and Sheldon is annoying.
On the plus side, of the character arcs that the show has toyed with, most have reached or are reaching their logical conclusions, so ending the Big Bang Theory might actually be the best decision for fans of the show.
Alas, CBS will never give up their golden goose so willingly, but no amount of laugh track will make their same stale jokes funny.
There you have it: our top 5 list of shows that really really need to be canceled. If you think we missed one, let us know in the comments.

President Donald Trump on Twitter: Best of the WORST Pre-Inauguration Tweets
It certainly was an eventful Presidential campaign, with most of the news fodder being sourced directly from Donald Trump's Twitter account. It all paid off somehow, as the Donald is now the 45th President of the United States, We take a stroll down eMemory Lane and look at the Trump's craziest, meanest, funniest, and most inflammatory tweets throughout the years.

Every four years a Presidential election rolls around and Saturday Night Live fires off some of their best sketches, all of which are inspired by the political circus. Today we’re counting down the absolute best SNL political skits.
#5 Capitol Hill
In a parody of Schoolhouse Rock, Kenan Thompson plays an anti-immigration bill singing the “I’m Just a Bill” song, hopeful to one day be passed into law by the President. Those dreams are dashed when Jay Pharaoh’s Barack Obama swiftly vetoes the bill with a push down the steps of the Capitol Building.
There are a few things about this Capitol Hill sketch that make it stand out. Firstly it highlights the disconnect many Americans have with how they think the government works and how it actually works.
Secondly this sketch is one few instances where SNL is critical of Obama and his leadership methods, painting him as a brazen commander-in-chief who utilizes the extent of his powers to bypass political red tape. Even the executive action is surprised that he’s written to grant legal status to millions of undocumented immigrants.
#4 George W. Bush’s Axis of Evil
People go wild for Will Ferrell’s impression of George Dubya and no sketch better exemplifies why better than the Axis of Evil skit. In parody of Bush’s 2002 state of the union, Ferrell drives home how much Bush loves to use the phrase “Axis of Evil” and how broadly he applies the term.
#3 Bill Clinton Goes to McDonalds.
This 1992 sketch features the late great Phil Hartman as a charismatic Bill Clinton with an insatiable appetite. Hartman’s Clinton thinly disguises a pit stop at McDonalds as community outreach, forgoing his jog to mingle with everyday Americans and take advantage of their good nature. Although this sketch is pre-Lewinsky era Clinton, it still doesn’t miss the obligatory nod to Bill’s womanizing, almost off-handedly predicting his future scandal.
The real art of this sketch however, comes from the thick layers of irony in the scene. Hartman’s Clinton slyly gets away with eating through the entire McDonald’s menu in a demonstration explaining how warlords intercept food and foreign aid sent to starving nations.
#2 The Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton Town Hall Debate
Kate McKinnon and Alec Baldwin’s second debate as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will go down as the hallmark sketch of the 2016 election. Based Clinton and Trump’s bizarre Washington University debate amidst Trump’s Access Hollywood scandal, SNL didn’t have to dig far to find comedy gold. Both McKinnon’s and Baldwin’s impressions are iconic. McKinnon plays Hillary as an out-of-touch Politician desperately trying to be relatable, while Baldwin’s Trump uses every dirty hand tactic he can to rattle Hillary’s cage.
#1 Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton Address America
Back during the 2008 elections, the Republican ticket tried to invigorate their John McCain ticket with wildcard Sarah Palin, and Palin’s unique person certainly did draw attention...and mockery from the SNL great Tina Fey. In this sketch Fey’s Palin and Amy Poehler's Hillary address sexism, despite it affecting them in two different ways.
The skit goes on to contrast Clinton’s and Palin's individual bids towards the White House, noting that while Clinton is hardworking, the charismatic Palin is still closer to becoming president than she is. But the real juice to this skit is Tina Fey’s performance ladened with wacky Palin-isms. From believing that global warming is a hug from god to the now ever classic line “I can see Russia from my house!”

Nintendo Switch Launch Titles Announced: Top 10 Games We Want to See
Nintendo’s next generation console had finally been revealed and it's unlike anything we’ve ever seen. The Nintendo Switch is both a home and handheld console, making it a hybrid never seen before. Nintendo says that the mobile party console will revolutionize the gaming industry, but its library of games will make or break it for the public. Today we’re counting down the top 10 games that should available on the Nintendo Switch, excluding the officially announced games like Super Mario Odyssey and the next Zelda games.
#10 Rocket League - Rocket League stole the hearts of gamers in 2015 by reinventing the world’s most popular sport by adding souped-up cars.
Nintendo unfortunately missed out the game’s viral success as every major console but the Wii U got access to the award winning game. But last year, Rocket League’s developer expressed an interest in innovating methods for cross platform multiplayer - bridging the online communities of each console into one.
#9 Street Fighter - Early leaks suggest that 3rd party developers have been working on a classic arcade controller accessory, perfect for fighting games. While the Switch could run a variety of fighting games, including Soul Caliber or Pokken, Street Fighter is competitive esports standard. - If the Switch’s teaser trailer is any indication, Nintendo is showing interest in fostering esport communities.
#8 Star Fox - The last Star Fox game, Star Fox Zero wasn’t well received. A fresh Star Fox game has the potential of being the premier space shooter of modern gaming, it just needs to stop relying on its legacy and learn from its competitors.
#7 Kingdom Hearts 3 - After a wait of 11 years, Kingdom Hearts 3 might be one of the longest anticipated games of all time. While previous main series Kingdom Heart games have been exclusive to Playstation, the third installment has already been confirmed for XBox One as well, so you can’t rule out KH3 for the Switch. Also if you count spinoff games, Nintendo’s DS family has actually housed more games in the series than the Sony systems combined.
#6 Animal Crossing - Animal Crossing for the Switch is a no brainer. Its one of the best selling Nintendo games and has prospered equally in home console and handheld formats. Animal Crossing games are highly engrossing and addictive, making them perfect for the Switch’s mobility. After all, being a mayor is a 24/7 job.
#5 Advanced Wars - Strategy games have been lacking on our list thus far, so to plug up that hole we’re begging Nintendo to pursue an Advanced Wars sequel. Sure plenty of people want to see yet another traditional Fire Emblem, we do too, but it’s an absolute travesty that the last Advanced Wars game was published in 2008.
#4 Super Mario Sunshine - Mario’s team-up with robotic waterpack FLUDD made for one of the most iconic Mario games, that has long since been lost to the sands of time. Nintendo titles love to draw in players from a nostalgic angle and a Super Mario Sunshine sequel would sell consoles alone.
#3 Pokemon Stadium – Yes, main series Pokemon games are wonderful, but fans have been dying to see an update to the Stadium and Coliseum series. Pokemon Stadium’s roster of battle ready Pokemon makes competitive battles easily accessible for party play and casual fans.
#2 Monster Hunter - Perhaps one of the most requested games for the Switch, Monster Hunter has always lived in a grey area between console and handheld. Now that the Switch is embracing that grey area, big screen Monster Hunter fans no longer have to play the newest installments on handheld or hold their breath for a Wii U port.
#1 Super Smash Brothers - The fact that Nintendo didn’t announce a Super Smash Brothers game during their Switch reveal presentation is a cruel joke. In many ways Smash Brothers is the franchise that kept Nintendo’s previous consoles afloat and relevant.
What games do you want to see on the Nintendo Switch?

1,000-Degree Knife, Hydraulic Press: Best YouTube Destruction Videos
You may have seen the recent viral video trend of people heating up knives, then slicing through objects like, well, a hot knife through butter. It’s a simple premise, but for some crazy reason these videos are just so satisfying to watch. Like seriously, you can’t stop, even when the slices are disappointing. So in honor of 2017’s first and hottest meme, we’re looking at all the epic ways YouTubers have senselessly destroyed things for our satisfaction.
Before ‘knife man’ Mr. Gear was slicing his way to 50 million views, another channel had a similar idea of using blow-torched metal to burn a way towards YouTube glory. Carsandwater pioneered new pyromaniacal fronts by heating up a ball of nickel and dropping it onto everything. Peanut butter, CDs, a soccer ball. Carsandwater just sits back and watches his red nickel ball burrow through anything he can imagine. And sometimes he even gets popcorn out of the deal.
Taking things a step further, Tito4RE uses molten copper in his destruction porn videos. Tito4RE also has a habit of turning coconuts into angry copper volcanoes and making dog bowl sized caldrons with chemicals you really shouldn’t be boiling.
For those of you who are a little less Human Torch and a little more Hulk, summer 2016 saw the rise of the Hydraulic Press Channel, a channel dedicated to - you guessed it - smashing things with a hydraulic press. The Hydraulic Press Channel’s experiments are far more explosive. Even books become deadly under extreme levels of pressure. Also thanks to the Hydraulic Press Channel, we know for certain that folding a sheet of paper more than 7 times is impossible.
Next up on our list is the Granddaddy of YouTube destruction, “Will It Blend?” Originally conceived as an advertisement for Blendtec blenders, the ‘Will It Blend’ series has been demolishing luxury items for over 10 years. Sure, nowadays people destroy iPhones for views all the time, but Will It Blend did it first and did it best.
Speaking of classic destruction channels, we can’t forget the viral sensation that was FPS Russia, AKA the channel with a guy doing a fake Russian accent and access to military grade weaponry. While FPS Russia has now seemed to retire, we can’t help but reminisce of the days when he’d make gratuitous use out of bullets and explosives. For example, remember the when he drove a tank through a house? Or when he set off explosives in said house, while he was chilling downstairs in the tank? Honestly, knife videos are pretty tame when you consider all the insane stuff on YouTube.
Well most knife videos. The BackyardScientist, who is essentially FPS Russia under the guise of science, took the knife trend a step further by attaching it to a 150 mile per hour rocket. And the results are astounding. And yes, before you ask, he did heat it up to glowing hot.
Let us know what destruction porn videos and channels are you favorite and maybe they’ll end up in a future video.

9. HORACE AND PETE
Louis C.K. fans might have missed his surreal tragedy with a star-studded cast, because C.K. opted to independently release the series online. While fans of the stand-up heavy weight might be expecting nonstop laughs, Horace and Pete is actually more likely to put you in the crying mood. The series takes place within a Brooklyn dive bar where nothing goes right and happy endings are few and are between.
Horace and Pete isn’t for everyone, but fans of poignant theatre praise the show as a heartbreaking masterpiece.
8. THE CROWN
As Netflix’s most expensive series to date, the Crown explores Queen Elizabeth’s sudden rise to power. The sudden death of King George the 6th thrusts the carefree princess into the political spotlight, where her life plans are abandoned for her duties as a monarch.
The Crown is lavish and perfect for history fans interested in seeing modern England unfold out of the British Empire.
7. INSECURE

The show went on to win several Emmy Awards and its second season will tackle the tragedy and politics behind hurricane Katrina.
4. THIS IS US
As far as heart-string pulling family dramas, This Is Us has it all. Seemingly independent storylines interconnect to tell a multi-generational story that is equal parts joyous and tear-inducing. This Is Us prides itself in being a relatable drama about the struggles of real people as opposed to other network dramas that really on special agents, explosions, and high-stakes politics.
For all its gooey sentimentality, This Is Us is powerfully effective at making you want to be the best version of yourself possible.
3. ATLANTA
Atlanta is not only Donald Glover’s glorious return to television, but a humorous showcase of black culture from a lens that isn’t exploitative. Telling the story of a father hustling to get his cousin’s rap career of the ground, Atlanta plays with prejudices both towards and within the black community. Atlanta isn’t afraid of using surrealistic humor to make audiences think about race, such as having a black actor play pop star Justin Bieber.
2. WEST WORLD
As Game of Thrones reaches its Twilight, HBO has been looking for a tent pole replacement, and this years West World may be just what the doctor ordered. Set in the near distant future, West World explores consciousness in a sprawling theme park with robotic hosts on the brink of self-awareness. Filled with action, mind blowing twists, and philosophical quandaries West World took the later half of 2016 by storm.
